Minimalism is a journey that not too many people can understand. It most certainly is life-changing. I love it! I'm a new subscriber to your channel and look forward to more of your videos!
I have been getting rid of so much stuff lately. Clutter is giving me anxiety. I started with under my sinks and got rid of all the clutter that I had been accumulating for years and never using. I now use essential oils and just a few products can easily replace all the other crap I have had sitting under there un-used for years!! My next step is our basement which, to be honest, I don't even like to go down there because there is just so much stuff! I honestly just want to throw everything away!
Such a great video! Moving was a huge piece of our minimalism story as well, it really teaches you so much about how little you need, it's really awesome.
At your age buy One and Done - one good cast iron fry pan, one good stainless steel coffee pot or teapot. Things that will last a lifetime. I can't tell you all the money I have spent on cookware - because it was supposed to be so good. I ended up going back to cast iron.
Great video. I agree with minimalism helping us being more intentional in not only our purchases but all other aspects of our life. It's really been life changing. Minimalism is definitely a mindset and a tool that can be customized to suit our individual needs. Love your mindset!
Thank you so much! I love what you said about how minimalism is a mindset and tool that can be customized to suit our individual needs. I absolutely agree. There's no "right" way to do it, which brings even more freedom to the lifestyle! Thank you for your comment!
Sure! I'll add it to my list. I always recommend starting small. Just try to carve some time out at least once a week to focus on yourself and your personal growth. Keep your eyes peeled and I'll hopefully have a video up in the next few weeks! xo
Just found your videos... I'm in the beginning stages of working up the nerve to move to a new city from my hometown. Thanks for the inspiration! Time for me to declutter!
Everything you said really resonated with me. You can feel how passionate you are about this topic. Really enjoyed this. Will definitely watch more from you.
Just found your channel and LOVED this video. It is always motivating to watch others downsize or keep a simple lifestyle. Keeps us on track ;) Happy New Year! Melody
Great video.i just started becoming a minimalist.I rid of 6 bags a box full of things.went from 32 short sleeve shirts to 17.I Subscribed to your channel.
Thank you so much, Ronja!! And thanks for the request about my routines. I'd LOVE to film some videos about them, as I've always loved seeing your routines too :)
My Maternal Grandmother used to say that 3 Moves = A Fire!! In other Words, after you have Moved Alot your possessions get down to almost Nothing just as if you'd had a Total Loss in a House Fire!!
Hi Chelsea! You and I are really on the same page. :) I too simplified my possessions in order to lighten the task of moving - even though it was only from one hour's drive away! The next move will very probably be international, so a lot more purging is indicated. Having said that, it's less about the distance and more about the packing and unpacking. Who needs it? I still have a lot of books to get through, but I'm well on the way. =)
Oh how I can relate! I am moving to organic makeup now and being more choiceful of the things I buy; yet I have to remind myself that I don't need everything! I only have one face. I don't need 27 eye palettes. Such a struggle when you love makeup.
I think a problem is the salesperson. I go to buy one eyeliner. She then wants to sell me a bunch of other products when I really only want eyeliner. Then she tells me if I spend a certain amount of money I can get more or a free tote bag or some other gadget I don't need. I've learned to say no. I just want the eyeliner today, thanks. Before I would think spend more and get more. But really it was stuff I didn't need or use.
Chelsea, thank you for this video! I've been on a journey to minimalism for about 2 years now. I'm also from DC, so I totally agree with the rat race in the area. Keep up the great content :)
DMV= rat race. Area full of stressed out type "A" folk. You called it right. Here people are always asking about what you're going to do next.....and then what you're going to do after that. They don't understand just "living". Not always chasing something. There's nothing wrong with having goals, but I'm gonna stop and smell the roses too. *HUGS* from Arlington! ; )
Yes, we must stop and smell the roses! I love that. It's all about balance. It's always great to connect with someone from the DC area so thanks for saying hello ;)

"I was acquiring things for the hell of it"-that describes my ~2 year makeup buying binge.
