#REM #CoverBand #TributeBand
Another masterpiece. The young lad on the drums just hit the groove and never missed a beat. Impressive
Great job recreating this REM classic. Everything about it was spot on. Mike, was that your son on drums? The acorn doesn’t fall far from the tree! 👍 He was flawless in his performance. Congrats Father and Son!!!
What a talented family.
A big thank you to everyone involved in LLB for giving us a great year of music. Best wishes for 2024!
WE GET IT MIKE! You can play EVER instrument! Challenge! Bagpipes....make it happen! 🤣🤣 Anyway, another fantastic job all the way around. Well done gang.
I'm sure he could !
Accordion!
He plays it.
Who says you can’t have a mandolin in a rock song! That was awesome! Thank you for being a bright star in our lives! 💙✌️
You’ve never seen Queen then? (Without lambert btw)
There have been several bands/duets that used mandolins in their songs. Seals and Crofts for one.
Depends what age rosa is I would think, only us old gits know the music of Queen really nowadays@@stumpusMaximus
If rosa is a younger person then Seals and Crofts may not be known?
I know very well that Rock bands have utilized mandolins in their songs and I love it! One in particular I love is Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California” is one of my favorites. The mandolin is not a mainstream instrument for rock songs but I still appreciate it. One of my favorite non-traditional instruments used in a rock song is the bag pipes in ACDC’s “It’s a Long Way to the Top”. I absolutely love that song! 💙✌️
Amazing song ! You do it Justice. Great vocal and production. Congrats to all . Happy new year to all 💫
Great work, folks! Hope there’s more REM in your future. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Indeed, they’ve so many great songs.
Heck no
Awesome. Well done. LLB captures the heart and soul of the songs they cover again.
LLB introduces me to music I would not normally listen to, I can trust LLB to deliver music, not entertainment, not celebrity worship, Pure music. And so it is I heard a song today that i now like, and to which I must listen again. Thank you for your dedication to music.
That was just a dream. Thanks from me in the corner. Happy New Year 🎉
Other than the usual sky-high excellence... nice to see LLB The Next Generation in action... young Mr. Vandemark is spot on!
Mike or Jessica when you are recording is there 1 song that the grove just flows flawlessly
Recent ones would include Chaka and REM. The Outfield, John Waite and U2 songs were also very comfortable for us
Amazing!!! Your band is off the charts with the caliber of your renditions. Thank you. 🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏
Another spot-on rendition!! Please do more REM! Happy New Year to all!!
These folks never disappoint, and I'm ok with that! ❤
Another amazing one guys. Fantastic as always.
Solid drums from the youngster❤
I enjoy watching father and son !!
I was never a big REM fan but I know a spot on cover when I hear one. ❤
As always, just plain fantastic
I'm never loosing my LLB religion. 😊
Out of the park !
In a word Awesome! You folks never cease to amaze me! Nick Jones is incredible as lead vocal. Randy Refalo's bass play is stunning, I can just listen to the bass track. Love the mandolins and drums. The keys are simply amazing. Thanks for another super video! This one takes me back to 1991 when I was still in the Air Force. Thanks so much for sharing.!
You guys are really good.
REM may be gone but their music lives on thanks to talented people like yourselves.
This song is so amazing. I remember a story Michael Stipe told where he said the execs thought the idea of the album's lead single being a dirge with a mandolin solo was pure lunacy, and they wanted Shiny Happy People as the lead.
Two Grammys later, the execs seemed to be OK with the mandolin solos.
You guys KILLED IT, as usual. It's odd to see such a stripped down group, but ya got that essence just right. BRAVO!!
🤘🤘
Tim Pierce played the mandolin in Iris for the Goo Goo Dolls. There’s a great story behind that one too.
Remember every song they do they use all different musicians . I think there are three or four main members. No matter which musicians they use they all at the top of there game.
Just a truly great band in every respect. Thank you LLB, Leon Ritchie / Scottsdale, AZ.
Just a dream......come true! Thanks LLB!!
You guys continue to amaze with some great selections on top of the second-to-none musicianship. And who is that very solid new drummer representing the next generation? Congratulations to both him and his dad.
Wow! Just another amazing LLB performance.
Great cover...amazing song...another homerun. 😊😊👏👏
Another well done classic guys ! You just keep sending out such wonderful work. You guys Rock ! Thanks again for this......
We love you guys so much!
Nailed it. Great job Charlie.
Great job guys! I’d appreciate hearing more REM in the future. 👍
Fantastic! Knocked it out of the park.
Another great cover by an amazing, talented band! Can't wait to hear what 2024 will bring us (no pressure) LOL.
You guys play like a dream. Excellent!! Love the mandolin!! Peace👏👏👏
Excellent performance, esp. enjoyed the vocals.
What a lovely song, lovingly performed...ringing out the old year.🙂
Excellent job guys ! Kudos to the kid on the drums, such restraint for a young player, nailed it !
Bill Burr killing it on backup vocals! (just kidding guys!) You guys slayed as always. I'm always amazed how tight everything is in your music.
Nice cover.... attended the same high school and college as Peter Buck. Cheers.
Vandee, a couple for the punch list:
Eric Clapton “Change The World “
John Mellencamp “Lonely Ol’ Night”
-Go from there with each where you will.
Bonus: Jefferson Airplane “White Rabbit”
-Viewers choice as to who should sing it, even though we know Jessica would clear the bases.
As usual, great production, sound quality, video and of course talent
Hadn’t heard this in years. Well done. #LLBRocks
might be my memory - I don't recall the mandolin as so prominent in the lead-in. Great.
Phenomenal!
Very well done
Awesome !!!!! Right On The Spot Light' Thumbs Up To The Young Drummer!!!
Gret rendition as always!
Two I'd like to see:
St Elmo's Fire by John Parr
and
In Your Wildest Dreams by Moody Blues
One thing I've come to discover watching the LLB videos is the fine details of a song. For some songs/bands if you're not a hard core follower you may hear something in the music and wonder how a band did that. With LLB since it's straight music, you see the musicians, their instraments and how they create that sound. A few little things in this REM song that I heard before, but until seeing this didn't know how they musically did it. Great stuff!!
That was beautiful!!!
Yet another LLB treat! Thank you! Some time down the road, if you found it interesting, Let It Roll, Little Feet?
WONDERFUL REMAKE !!
Another fantastic cover. God bless you guys.
That one is on the God’s playlist.
Wonderful performance as always, thanks for sharing and keep up the good work.
This is one of my favorite songs. Your performance is excellent. The song is plaintive and tells a geat story of someone who is falling into despair. Well done Lexington Lab Band!
I seen a comment they said REM was the last great American band . This song says it all . Thank you for doing a song by my favourite band of all time .
This is beautiful :) Much thanks and happy new year to you all people.
You all are soooooo awesome. Love you all!! Keep up the awesome music❤️❤️❤️❤️
Not my kind of music, but performed perfectly.
Absolutely love this cover! Nick Jones is the perfect lead vocal, and he nails it! The instrumentals are spot on! The backing vocal harmony is excellent. This cover invokes such a strong memory, thank you so much for sharing.
And once again LLB pulling out the talent train and knocking down another classic as only they can. Fantastic run on this one you folks are going great keep them coming thank you
no words, perfect
Un vrai plaisir! Bravo les amis!
Rock on L.L.B.!!! May your talents be known throughout the whole world and beyond.
❣️🎸🎶
Loved it!! like to see you guys do more REM.
Y’all need to start doing originals.
Lacks something on this cover. Maybe not enough bass and drums are not great at all.
Thanks for the feedback
Excellent!!! Great job.
This was one of the first songs I tried to learn when starting to play my Mandolin, the original had some funky chords, as if some guitar player played Mandolin. Oh wait, It WAS! From the band just across the state from me, in Georgia. Awesome job!!
Another fantastic song! Maybe time for "the one I love" :D
Two mandolins! An acoustically fantastic version. Good job everyone.
Wow! Just Wow, what an awesome rendition of this great song, you guys absolutely nailed it.🤘😍
Sacar covers no es cosa facil, requiere de mucho oido aparte del talento e instrumentación. Gracias amigos de LLB feliz 2024.
It's amazing how you can keep knocking them out of the park! Bravo!!
That is a brave song to attempt. And You CRUSHED It! That may be the best thing I have ever seen! Or extremely close. I am so impressed.
First, is there an instrument Vande can't play? This is one of my all-time favorite REM songs. Your version has a much fuller, more nuanced, sound than REM's original--REM only being a trio and all. I thought the mixing/production was amazing on this track--in particular, the way you brought the keyboards out of the background really gave the song a beautiful balance, and so much more. Everything about LLB gets better and better with every recording. Looking forward to seeing/hearing all the great music you'll be covering this year!
Another amazing cover. Thanks guys for this REM song. Hopefully we will hear more. And to the whole LLB team. I wish you all the best in 2024, lot of success and for us, much more incredible cover songs. Thank for all you gave to us in 2023
I was hard into REM in the late 80's early 90's. Would love to hear you guys do 'orange crush ' or 'shiny happy people' or that other one with the gal from the b52's. Just putting it out there.
Ok this is my favorite so far; this song means so much to me and reminds me of high school and my first girlfriend. Thank you for covering it. Such a beautiful and emotional performance.
Wonderful!🥰👍
Terrific! Is that Mike's boy on drums? Tight!!
Yep!
Amazing! You all must be very proud. I was fortunate to write and record a song with my two older children back in 2012, they were 14 and 12 at the time and it was a wonderful experience. Happy New Year to all of you and I look forward to another year of great LLB music!
Musically, I love it. It's memory perfect to my ear and evokes all the feels...
However, on a performance note, I think there is a decided lack of life up until the end of V2 where he starts to 'feel' it... Then again at the bridge, he gets another slight groove going, and begins to 'feel' it even more. This carries to the end and finishes really really well ... Y'all always impress so keep up the hard work !
Thanks for the review
Without ANY, ANY doubt, this the VERY, VERY best cover band that EVER existed.
steveogden...you are right on...GREAT group of PROs
Perfect! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Nicely done.
Another home run. Great job by everyone including your son on drums. Mike, Is there any instrument you don't play? You are one talented guy.
Hey how bout doing Tom Petty live version of “It’s good to be king”? Y’all would kill it
Super mandolin chops! How about some ukulele from Train!
Love it, you guys are amazing
I really enjoyed that rendition. This may sound cliche but - You made it your own.
So much better than the crappie original version! They were terrible, you guys are great!
Outstanding performance! 💯 Liked and shared to the world.
I imagine that y’all overthink everything and I am glad you do! Always so good 🤙🏼
Superb! Challenge - 80’s super rock group GTR.
Awesome as always. (Little guy laying down a rock solid beat!)
Yes it is a masterpiece! Wonderful job playing this song so smooth.
Esta canção é uma das melhores do REM🎉🎉
Killer guys one of the best Covers of this Track (:
Wow!!! You guys make it like a recording one. Bravo!!!
