It seems people do learn from their mistakes. It might seem trendy to comment the opposite but just see how hard it would be to topple the government in any of the modern powerful nations and you'd understand that we indeed have evolved. Modern governments are also more likely to be discrete in exerting their control over people manipulating them to do what they want instead of overt use of force since they've learned from the past what works and what doesn't. Sucks for the people anyways since governments are instruments of power and over time they'll only gather more. So a collapse seems imminent but the timeframes have increased
I get what you're saying, but I'm not so sure. Governments tend to seem very solid until they aren't. For example, no one predicted the collapse of the Soviet Union would and in such a short time span.
I beg to differ.. As we can see a similarities in past empires before their fall, we see that discord is starting and brewing among the populace. Until whatever demise befall them. It always starts from within the empire. We can see it happening now among many nations. And the scary thing is. We dont know how these present nations will fall. And what will come after.
@@hoseaswei7168 you got to account for the instant communication we got, faster travel around the world, tighter trade interdependence, intelligence and counter intelligence. A total collapse like in the past is highly unlikely if there would be a collapse it would be an extremely prolonged slow death. Collapse due to war is unlikely and you can learn a few things from current ongoing wars: Russia-Ukraine: Ukraine is holding up Russia even invading Russia if recent news is to be believed. This just shows how costly total war in modern age can be to nations. A small non nuclear enemy like Ukraine can bite and drag you out for a long war decimating both the economies Israel Conflict: The Israel conflict just shows how dominating technology can be. To the attack on Israel itself that was so sophisticated that it went completely under the radar, to the total domination Israel is projecting currently against multiple enemy states. Just considering the above to active wars who in their right mind would want to fight. Just think about a total war between US-China or US-Russia or India-Pakistan, I think the consequences will be devastating on planetary scale and avoiding such wars would be the best approach
