Levitan was a poor Jewish artist who painted the soul of Russian landscape and died very young. I have seen many of his wonderful paintings and was honoured to leave a stone on his grave.
John Martin ...a stone on his grave.....yes.....a powerful ceremony.....I have just now seen his work for the first time...I am captivated by the volumes of space he has given us to wonder in.....
I just didn't understand why poor? He died young but for some reason this is a destiny of a lot of genius people. Can you say that Mozart was poor? He died 4 years younger than Levitan.

Truly a very accomplished painter. I've never heard of Levitan but can see he is an equal to Matisse, Monet, Turner and the early works of Van Gogh. A real master of his craft that is a joy to see. Thank you
Levitan was a poor Jewish artist who painted the soul of Russian landscape and died very young. I have seen many of his wonderful paintings and was honoured to leave a stone on his grave.
Wow! Sooo emotional. John Martin, Beautifully put. Isaac Levitan is definitely one for me to follow up on. Superb work.
Read about his life.@@musicamemore4173
@@JohnMartin-ux2rm I know his story. His health was quite fragile , but as an artist he was doing very good. He was successful and famous artist *during his life* (which is not the case for a lot of famous artists).
Sublime… evocative. From tranquility to tears.. the landscapes and his style and palette in general bring bitter sweetness. Held suspended ‘tween the two.
Над вечным покоем! В ней я весь,так сказал Левитан. Картина -размышление . Шедевр .
Magician and master of the light! Superb!
What a Beauty! Thank you for this with all my heart!
Thank you for these lovely videos that calm the heart and mind as we struggle through yet another human challenge period. Like others, I'm new to Levitan and appreciating his work.
Thank you for posting this soulful work.
