Coming also from a smallllll town where we also had all the townspeople gather round the entrance to the gym and watch all of us enter in limos and carriages I can say with confidence that yes- the prom is the closest thing to the red carpet most people will ever walk.

Honestly chloes “cheap” dress was the only prom dress and was actually pretty cute. I could totally see it being worn for a junior prom. At my school that was kind of the theme. Short dress for junior prom, long dress for senior prom

Chloe's stylist's dress was a good sophisticated look, but it doesn't say "prom" to me. Going out for dinner and drinks in upscale places, yes, though I think it needs a splash of color somewhere.
I could also see the hostess of the same places wearing something similar.

I love Jazz but it angers me when the stylist never delivers on her looks. Jazz dress was “mother of the bride”. It may have been the most expensive but your job is to find a dress that will look good on the client, not get what is pricey

The problem of this episode is that (sorry ladies) we are too old. I'm 25 and i don't get the point of trendy prom dresses. We are different generations. And we have different taste. That's normal but i would like to see Avalon in prom dress rather than adults who would like to fit in but totally out of the stream.
@@ДарьяВолкова-ш4ш Agreed we are too old but I have a younger siblings who went to prom last year and we watched this video together and we agreed that the stylist went way too far in the "red carpet avant-garde" realm while the cheap dresses looked as such and the only one that would have really worked was Chloe's but it was definitely more homecoming style because it was short.
I’m surprised at the “expensive” choices. I agree with all of the comments below, stating that they weren’t quite right. None of them would qualify as a prom dresses.. think Chloe’s Poshmark find was the best, and most accurate. I felt bad that they ripped into it quite harshly. She literally bought someone else’s dress online. I would be so hurt if it was mine and I saw this video.

I’m a senior. My prom might get canceled, but I did go last year so I can speak of the styles. Prom is still 95% solid colors, navy blue, black, etc. with long dresses.
Chloe’s dress is not a prom dress at all. Nobody would ever wear that at prom.
Nina’s dress is possible to wear. The color is a bit crazy and it looks more like a red carpet dress than prom. A popular color for prom this year is a pink, purple mix that changes with the light. Iridescent is the word.
Jazzmine’s dress is another very weird dress. Nobody would ever wear that to prom.

Why don’t they ever go to a brick and mortar thrift or discount shop for the cheaper option? Part of the reason why they fail is because they buy the pieces without seeing them in person. The stylist can see and touch everything she picks out beforehand...

Jazz got done dirty in that $1600 sequined tablecloth, good lord. Too covered up, it didn't have enough shape (or maybe it was just too big?) The style of the cheapie was really nice, if they'd found a designer version similar to it but with better fabric and construction, it would have been bomb!

I feel like chloe is the only one who thought “high school prom” I feel like the other 2 (whom I love don’t get me wrong) weren’t keeping in mind that prom is a high school event not an adult event. Meaning that, at least for the school I went to, they still enforce certain dress codes. For example the slit would have been a no.

KiaraHime I would say homecoming (a dance that usually is paired with a homecoming sporting event where alumni come back to celebrate their time at school) tends to lean more toward a cocktail dress and prom is usually more formal.

@@mariannaakaartistic_muggle63 they're just different dances. Homecoming is the first dance of the year, and is paired with a home football game. It's less formal, people tend to wear shorter, poofier dresses to it. Prom is the last dance of the year, and it's FORMAL as heck.

Yessss! My wedding dress was about $60 (it's still on Amazon for $69) and AMAZING. The beading could have been a little nicer, but for *one day* it was totally fine. Obviously slightly higher budget than most of their low budget options, but still pretty cheap.

I picked it because I didn't want it *as* full as the picture, but the extra length from the fullness meant that without a petticoat, it was the right height for my 5'10" self. My only real complaint was that the beads at the waist were glued on, not sewn on, so I just was careful (but sewing them on myself was an option, I just decided against it). Only 2 fell off the whole day.
They've done a few wedding dress videos, just not with a stylist.

I've noticed that the more this stylist works with these girls the more she understands their styles!!! I use to not like the clothes she would pick for them or they just wouldn't fit but now they're great!

I'm European.. what's the difference between homecoming and prom?
Ruth van Hulst Homecoming is more like a week to get the school spirited about football and the dance is usually at the school and not very formal so people usually wear short dresses. Prom is mainly for upperclassmen and is usually held in a venue far from school. It’s a much more formal event with most people wearing long gowns/dresses and nice suits. The main difference being that homecoming is for everyone and prom is for juniors and seniors (about 17&18 yr olds).

I bought a beautiful prom dress, got my hair done at the salon, went and took pics with my friends and our dates at our beautiful park downtown. I never even bought a ticket to prom. After we took pics, we told our parents we were going to prom but instead went and got high in our prom outfits and went stargazing. Kind of regret it, kind of don't lol

These expensive prom dresses wouldn’t fit most proms but my senior prom theme was Hollywood masquerade and I feel these “might” have worked with that. My prom was held at a country club and was very glamour (which was not what we expected. My school was very small in the middle of nowhere South Carolina) that being said I still have a hard time seeing teens wearing similar dresses.
