Bro you’re speaking my language. I get so bored of people talking behind a desk about their work. I’d rather see the work. I don’t even care what they say sometimes, I just want to see live action on set. I copied this whole style from Cranky Cameraman. He’s got a massive archive that you can delve into. Much higher level than me. He uses two arris and two fx9’s with a full production vehicle. Check it out!
@@bwoodsjr Im trying to do something different than most TH-camrs behind a desk. I want to show the live decisions happening on set. I copied the style from Cranky Cameraman. Look up his channel. He had so many golden gems of i formation and a big catalogue of videos.
Watching from Botswana 🇧🇼 Thanks bruv. We appreciate your videos , quite motivational and info/insite filled for us upcoming creative s. Been watching your content since the last day you did your releasted job , the started stalking your older vids 🙏🏻we appreciate you bro
It’s great for a lot of situations! However I do get asked for Sony when I’m fitting into some other productions. But if you do your own projects, it’s a such a valuable camera. The ND filters and audio make my life so much easier.
Hey man, just discovered the channel! I wouldn’t have even known about production hub if not for this channel. Thanks. Would love for you to do content on how to get the best results out of the site. Thanks!
These videos are great and very helpful. I'm glad you take the time to shot and share them. Do you use any other platforms to find work such as Staff me up or LinkedIn? Or is word of mouth and Production Hub your go to?
If I didn’t shoot, edit and upload them all from my iPhone they would never get done Gaga. Such a great tool! I’ve had some success from Upwork (Freelancer), just started a LinkedIn. But 90% of my work has always came from word of mouth. And it’s not from clients, it’s from other camera operators who are too busy to take the job. You can start that network by handing off jobs that you don’t want to someone else and emphasize that you can help each other out.
You make such informational videos that are so helpful. I love to see the working side of things and how you make your decisions. But man I keep looking at your gear. Haha. What monitor mount are you using? I miss that about my c200. Could you tell me what you use? Could you do a gear set up one day or a tour of your set up? It’s modular. Thank you so much.
Really appreciate your perspective & insight... been freelancing for only almost a year now, and still find myself learning the ropes. I like how you shared your ProductionHub bio- so good!
I too use photography boom stand instead of costly audio boom arm. 🙌🏻. 1. 4:02 the camera lcd screen shows cool color & external monitor shows warm color. Which one would be in the actual footage? 2. why not v Mount battery?
I need to get my smallhd calibrated. The canon lcd is more accurate here. And I had vmount on here but it was too heavy and too long of a process to remove when I switch to gimbal. Since the handgrip doesn’t rotate, all that weight is uncomfortable on your wrist.
Thanks for another great video. If you're taking questions, how do you set your white balance in these situations? You've got a mix of your lights, the conference center lights, and that huge window. Does the variable natural light mess with your exposure and white balance?
That's the point of this channel, man. Share the knowledge. I have a whole video that details my pricing. Its titled "how I charge for..." Let me know if you have questions!
@@jfo14 Oh wow, I’m not in that plan haha. I just started this year and I did their promo pricing. I think it was $270/4 months. The most important thing is that it pushes you to the front of the search results.
The standard for conference videography is 1080 at 30fps. The turnaround is extremely fast and 4k is an unnecessary hurdle. It increases footage transfer time, more sd cards, slows down editing/exporting and no one notices the difference. These videos are being played the next day on a massive 60ft screen. The resolution doesn’t matter. And it’s always in 8 bit, so to answer your question: No, definitely not using raw. Not even using xfavc. The client wanted the lowest code: mp4 (which is normal). I used raw once for a personal test but never for a client. It just creates too many headaches. Especially since I normally film and then hand off footage. I want to give them something they can easily manage. I usually shoot xfavc long gop for 90% of my work.
They had a promo price of $275 for four months. I chose that. And when it expired they sent an email and offered it to me again and even added two free months. You want to go with the option that puts you on page 1. That’s how you get the most leads. And pick the right keywords that fit your type of work. I chose “interview, director of photography, corporate and documentary.”
This is a different video than what you typically find on TH-cam, and I appreciate it. I enjoy this a lot more than a strict talking head.

Hello Morefiel, could you please break down your C70 cage setup. Wanna get C70 with good and reasonable cage to start with. Thanks.
Shape cage. It’s perfect bc of the hdmi lock. You can look at the Short on my channel which breaks down the top handle setup
Thanks for another great video.

For this, I just eyeball it. The color changes will be inevitable throughout the day here in florida, sun, rain, clouds.
This is the info I never knew! Thank you. How much do you charge for this kind of gig? I struggle with pricing
That's the point of this channel, man. Share the knowledge. I have a whole video that details my pricing. Its titled "how I charge for..." Let me know if you have questions!
Great video. I see productionhub has different levels of monthly plans. Which one are you on?
Whatever the most expensive is. It’s worth it.
@@davidmorefield Can you let us know what exact plan it is? It seems like the most expensive is 2k a year...that seems like alot..

I'm on the base one and I'm getting a good amount of work. Having your gear on sharegrid also helps. Even if you don't rent through them.
@@kyleranney I haven’t tapped into sharegrid yet. That’s for renting your gear right?
I'm sure you're shooting all your interviews in 4k but are you also shooting them in the c70 raw LT or St or just in the regular format?

Most jobs like these absolutely do not want raw. Many want 1080 still.
@@kyleranney very true in my experience
@@davidmorefield Okay. So do you just do 60 fps for b-roll only?
@@RobertoRaymon Only if I want to give the editor the option to slow down. I would never shoot 60 for interview.
