Great review! I only have one suggestion. Due to the length of the wire that you used as extention for the 12v adapter, I would recommend increasing the gauge of the wire so that you don't have that much of resistance and power loss due to it (you can hear it on the pump speed when it stops charging). It will increase the pump's live time ;). Keep up the good work!
This is a huge advancement, particularly for those living miles and miles away from dive shops. For me in Australia, I’m lucky to have myriad options for filling my tank within 10 minutes of home, so this isn’t something I’m considering, but it’s a real game changer for others. I’d be interested to see it’s performance again in 12 months, 18 months and so on too. Thanks for another entertaining video Giles!
bought the $600 Air Venturi Nomad II 4500 psi portable unit. It uses 3 drops of silicon oil every 5 fills. My first one worked fine for about 30 fills then quit pressurizing, I called the in the manual, the nice woman that answered emailed a return label so shipping the unit back was paid for by Air Venturi I kept the box so I returned in the original crate. I do not know what was wrong with it, it was repaired and I received the same unit 2 weeks after I sent it to them. So far it is still working fine.
I've got the original version with a separate box for the 110 connection. I have yet to use it in 110 volt mode as my purpose for this was to not have to drive home to fill my tanks. I received mine in mid Spring '18 and have used it MANY times out in the field and woods with my Impact X and Gauntlet. I am usually very picky with high expectations with new technology and I know right now these are the cat's @ss and will be very reliable for years to come. I also have the full size Air Venturi compressor which is getting very lonely for lack of use. Giles, great review and enjoy, Quack.
PS.. that yellow plug on the car cable looks to be a XT60 connector, buy a male / female from your local hobby shop and make a 5m extension cable that can live in the pouch pocket on the carry case.. no need to cut the existing cable.
Now that looks a seriously interesting and handy bit of kit. Always worth a watch is an Airgun Gear show video, always well prepared and presented, full of facts as well as pro's and con's. Great mix of really useful/helpful information and a good ol'bit of humour. Thank for your video's Giles and keep up the good work lad
Giles I love your content and this video is no different but as an engineer, I can't help but voice a concern. Adding that much wire length means you will need to derate the conductors. The solution is the conductors size will need to be bumped up from what appears to be 8 AWG to something like 2 AWG. Keep up the great work my man!
I really enjoy your work. You are so creative and humorous while maintaining a quality instructional vid. Thank you so very much for all your efforts.👍👍👍
It looks awesome. My only concern is that all oil less compressors have a life span, usually in hours and Pyramid only shows a 1 year warranty. Curious to see the longevity at 1, 5, and ten years. Thanks for your entertaining reviews.
You need to member that the longer the electrical leads, the more resistance your putting on the system . So you may be actually reducing the voltage too the compressor so don't make them too long.
just purchased one should be handy was missing carry strap but everything else there i reached out to the company couple weeks ago i haven't heard back i hope this is a good compressor thanks for the Great Video
I’d like to see a compressor handle on an air rifle where the underlever is usually placed on a hatsan torpedo for instance. A multi pump but with a tank and with a revolver or block type cylinders to load ahead of time. It should also have a valve to fill up with a scuba tank.
I never saw any issue with using a pump, it's a fraction of your regular workout routine and honestly it's a nice warmup and a good way to trick yourself to get more exercise.
Great video Giles, I loved it. That is one great little compressor, too bad it can not pump a bottle yet, but I'm sure by the time we get to the Nomad 3 or 4 it should be able to. I've got the regular Air Venturi compressor, it's fantastic, for all my pumping needs:-)
I would highly suggest that if you are going to extend the 12v leads like you did, to properly solder the connections together, those little crimp connectors are awful and will introduce a lot of unnecessary electrical resistance and it will be harder on the pump motor
Love your shows always brings some 😂 I love the new compressor. Ps I don't think filling your gun with compersor over where your exhaust fumes is the best idea compressor is taking air in remember 👍👍👍🏴✌️
I like this, very handy if you are out and about but then my 7ltr 300 bar bottle lives in the boot, and if I have to use this in conjunction with the car then I have a problem. maybe at the end of my bottles life I will consider one. cheers Giles.
I know this is really old, but I just found it. I just wanted to mention that the "2" in Roman numeral and designed into the right leg of the M in Nomad.
I just stumbled on this while I was browsing youtube and was quite interesting to watch even though I havent had the chance to go shooting since moving to manchester several years ago as I dont have access to anywhere I can shoot, I still have my trusty old made in 'west germany' left handed Hw80 which I have had since '86 though
GREAT review mate, BUT at $699.00 I think I'll have a go at the Aliexpress one at 108 quid (it doesn't look half as pretty though), it's just a shame with our Yankie buddies is if it's $699.00 in the USA they'll charge us 699.00 pounds and shipping at$100.00(they love us after all, NOT)
great vid just one thing to think of you should really solder the wires then heat shrink them to prevent them pulling out of the crimpped method could be a problem in the middle of no where
R/C hobby shops sell those power connectors, and would save from cutting the original cables. Also if you plan on setting up the compressor in the back of your/truck go ahead and run the cables neatly or get a car stereo shop to install an outlet plug in the back for you. $650 is a bit easier to digest than $1400. I guess your you can still enjoy a lil sax in the man cave after buying all them inflatable toys.
Love this work you put in, thanks. And looks like an awesome nice compressor. Seems like I am in for a hobby change. Ah well, classical guitar building is fun to, and probably a bit cheaper ;)
Love our intros and also awesome intro to my new compressor :-) Suggestion, lot of our outside shots are a bit over-exposed, set the exposure compensation to -1/3 or so.. just to avoid burning foreheads.
Hi Giles , I've just watched Steve from A.E.A.C do a review of the Nomad 2 and He popped His compressor onto His car and it worked OK , So I asked Him if He had His car running at the time , He said hadn't , so I wondered , have You been driving a lot with Your lights On ? and when You got the new Battery to use as a power supply did You trickle charge it first ? . Most New batteries are what is known as Surface charged and its usually recommended that the battery is topped up via a trickle charger before its first use , Sorry for the long winded questions and perhaps sounding a bit patronizing but curiosity being what it is I had to ask . Love the show and still love the Remy Express I bought on Your recommendation ,Best £150. I ever spent , Its even better now with a decent set of mounts & a 3x9x40 AO scope a quick tweek of the trigger adjuster which shortened the first stage , and about 6500 pellets later its sweet as You like and still going strong . I like it better than My new to Me HW 90 which My wife bought Me second hand (For Christmas) which is rather heavy and requires a lot of muscle to cock it & the trigger is only about as good as the Remy's after the tweeks but it is a gas ram and I've not had it long and if I put 6500 pellets through it maybe I,ll grow to love it just as much . Cheer keep up the good work.
thanks foe a wonderful video. I have seen some other similar Chinese compressors and they can't filter the moisture that well. How is the moisture filter on this one?
Hi, Thanks for this video really useful...can you tell me where I can buy one in UK...I want it for one reason. My wife has always been scared at me having a couple of bottles in the house....I would be in a bad position if anything ever happened, this at the expense of 5 minutes is much safer...I was even considering the Daystate compressor...this much better...Allen
This compressor is not for bottle refilling but for mobile rifle filling the motor wouldn’t last long trying to fill bottles great little unit though 👍
At $700 whatever that is in the uk, maybe £450, I'd rather pay the retest fee on my 15L bottle and pay for the fills., around 80 of them! I can fill. My gun probably 20 times off this bottle. There's no maintenance, no engine to wear out. Think I'd rather buy a pump and keep myself fit!
Not often I am lucky. But to have my bottle filled it is 5 minute drive. Yay for me for once! If not 30 minutes into the 'orrid neighbouring city. >shudder
If you can't run it off a stand alone battery then something is wrong... The engine running (alternator) doesn't put out much in the way of Amps which is what you need and come from the battery... Also, longer leads should be a thicker gauge than shorter ones to lower resistance and compensate for the longer length, which increases resistance, probably not much but it is safer for the unit.... A nice size LIPO battery would work for the unit but no idea how long it would last...
Dear mr Airgungear I have watched all of your videos about pcp air rifles in a week, but I can not decide what to get. I live on a farm so my shooting is targets rats and crows. I like the fx air guns wildcat but that out of budget. I also like the m30 you posted recently. Do you have any suggestions under £600? Love the jokes Thanks
Speaking from experience I can heartily recommend a useful accessory for this superb little compressor that negates the need for the 12v extension lead... Buy or lease a Jaguar XF R-Sport... The batteries are in the boot! 😂
Please visit Airgun101.com and my day job is now - www.airgun101shop.co.uk

Thanks for another entertaining video Giles!
I don't even have a gun but still enjoy watching your video's, always informative and entertaining - cheers
Just found this dude and I'm lovin' it. This feels like Top Gear for airguns.

Wonderful demonstration sir! Including the uh...missus lending her observation. Real life mate.
Love your videos.
Good reviews + a good laugh every time
You don’t disappoint mate
Thanks Giles. You've described how to run it so well, I might even be able to run one ;-)
Really good video. You are very informative and detailed, yet entertaining.

Great video and good humour. Don't think I will be buying one in a hurry though, it costs me £3.50 to refill my 10 litre air bottle locally.
Love how every brit refers to a power cable as a "kettle lead". Makes you feel proud to be British.
Use a deep cycle marine battery man, that's just the kind of thing they are made for.
just purchased one should be handy was missing carry strap but everything else there i reached out to the company couple weeks ago i haven't heard back i hope this is a good compressor thanks for the Great Video
Less than 2min into the video I hit the like button. Great humour!

Nice video. You had me till the price. Thanks for posting
I never saw any issue with using a pump, it's a fraction of your regular workout routine and honestly it's a nice warmup and a good way to trick yourself to get more exercise.
Great vid, but working with those kind of pressures put on the safety glasses. Least bit of grit or oil when detaching a connector...

Cheers Giles...Definitely a nice piece of kit! Got a birthday coming up and now have an order into Pyramyd Air...Cheers, Mark
You are special in so many ways. But I really like your concise reviews.
Thanks Giles!!! Excellent review, and also with your fantastic humor and fun!!!
Great review. The best one from anyone. Hands down. Thank you.
Love your shows always brings some 😂 I love the new compressor. Ps I don't think filling your gun with compersor over where your exhaust fumes is the best idea compressor is taking air in remember 👍👍👍🏴✌️

A marine battery might work "deep cycle battery". Those are designed to deliver more then just a few hundred amperes for a very short time.
Another great review, but a bit too expensive for the casual shooters wallet ?
I know this is really old, but I just found it. I just wanted to mention that the "2" in Roman numeral and designed into the right leg of the M in Nomad.
I laughed when you were carrying your mic in your hood. That’s genius.
Nice vid, would it be able to charge a paintball gun tank/bottle?
You could hold the pressure to check for leaks in the fill system.
GREAT review mate, BUT at $699.00 I think I'll have a go at the Aliexpress one at 108 quid (it doesn't look half as pretty though), it's just a shame with our Yankie buddies is if it's $699.00 in the USA they'll charge us 699.00 pounds and shipping at$100.00(they love us after all, NOT)
Very nice compressor great videos keep it up
Dude, I think you may be having way to much fun with a air pump.....lol 😁😁😁
I really enjoy your videos you make, thank you !
Want one but out of budget for now.. nee more air rifles.. keep them coming your so funny!
Great video, did you see an increase on the load gauge after lengthening the power wires?
Very nice gilles. wee charger so you can even fill up in the pup!
Thanks for the video it was very informative and humorous
Only one thing I could see wrong with this video Giles.....you forgot cake to go with the cup of tea!
great vid just one thing to think of you should really solder the wires then heat shrink them to prevent them pulling out of the crimpped method could be a problem in the middle of no where

Are there any concerns with moisture getting in the gun as the filter is small?
thanks foe a wonderful video. I have seen some other similar Chinese compressors and they can't filter the moisture that well. How is the moisture filter on this one?

Love the "2" sticker you put on. :)
I wonder how those huge vevor oil ones will fill must be like 2 mins to fill compaired to this little thing
finally something great that isnt $2000.00 . Thumbs Up
Giles great info again you are the best you cover so much info you are in top of your game, take care and keep up the good work.
Always entertaining. TY Giles.
I love this guys accent! 😂🤣
Nice to have if I could justify the expense, can you review the RTI priest is it a half price impact?
Looks a great air solution 👍 great review as ever Giles 👍👍
Can it fill the Benjamin357 bulldog or the Texan 45 Cal air Force
I would have a talk to a motorcaravan / van specialist and have an inverter fitted to your pick-up.
Got one it’s good! 👍🏽
The 2 is in the M “II” look at the “M”?
je8422377 that's said in the video.
I remember my first bag too.
Could you charge a big tank with it if you ran it 15 minutes at a time then let it cool.

Great video ans review, yes i hope they get that compressor here in the uk, great bit of kit, Thank You Cheers
Ummhh, happy with the pump this things a lot of money and slower than a pump ok so a pump takes a little bit of brawn but hardly excessive
If you can't run it off a stand alone battery then something is wrong... The engine running (alternator) doesn't put out much in the way of Amps which is what you need and come from the battery... That is definitely an XT60 connector. 60Amps. Don't extend to 4metres you are asking for trouble. Use a small table by the battery.
Hi mate would you do a video on a falcon prairie air rilfle please
at 0:45 are you on the the tidal flats at the end of the Wirral penninsula?
Love from India... Excellent review. Amazing humour.
As always great vid!! Wish it could fill tanks, but even so a must have. Got me laf.n thanks.
Wow! Another great review, thank you!🤓👍

Another great video Giles as always any clues on the cost of it here in the UK
if ur a purist how u use dat in d midle of jungle best thing is break barrel
Quality videos, thanks
Hi Giles a great review, is the 1small filter enough to stop any moisture getting into the rifle . cheers Dean
im convinced you are actually Mark Labbett
looks great good review, cant afford. £2. 7l air
That was a great review, Giles.
Did Giles say how much it costs? never heard him mention the price..

Giles my man... I need a coffee mug like that to add to my collection. Where can I get one?😂
Speaking from experience I can heartily recommend a useful accessory for this superb little compressor that negates the need for the 12v extension lead... Buy or lease a Jaguar XF R-Sport... The batteries are in the boot! 😂
As an american i have a few questions. 1 what is the price of the ( large ) first compressor? 2 why don't you use the larger compressor in the field?
That coffee mug
