    Getting out on the road is what Linda and I love to do with our converted cargo trailer camper. We're part time nomads and the nomadic lifestyle suits us to a Tee. Whether your RV is a camper van, camp trailer, travel trailer, motorhome or just a car and a tent, there's going to be something interesting for you in the videos we produce. Back roads and overlanding are part of what we do while exploring the western states for beautiful, peaceful and sometimes remote places to camp on BLM and National Forest land (public land). Taking care of ourselves as much as possible and doing our own repairs is a must because we travel on a fixed income and a limited budget. If you're into being off-grid and boondocking or doing dispersed camping whenever possible then you'll appreciate the discussions on batteries, solar panels and solar chargers or power stations and 12v refrigeration. Come on along, we're happy to have your company!

    I never met a stranger. My kids think I'm strange but most people have a story I haven't heard yet. We love to laugh and tell stories ourselves. Married 53 years , means we have each heard each other's story but strangers hasn't heard it yet. Bonus!

    I just took a trip to Utah to pass down our touring kayaks to our kids. On my way back I turned down a road on a lark, in Eureka, NV. It had the same name as a relative of ours. While I was turning around at the road’s dead end an elderly man stopped. We waved and introduced ourselves and chatted. He knew my deceased relatives and gave me some info, pointed me the right way. It was so heartwarming to run into him and to chat with him. My daughter called it “random” when I told her about meeting him and how nice he was. I don’t think it was random at all…

    I knew kids in high school that tried the ditch weed and got really sick, it is the hemp that was grown for rope. I like that Chevy. Often people say the Japanese balloons only hit the west coast but they hit other places. When I was a kid I was told a story about a town in Wisconsin that was hit with a balloon and the military burned the town school, church and all.
    Hope you guys stay safe and healthy.

    $350 for a water filter. You certainly have a great deal more money than I do.

    • @gonagain
      @gonagain  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I guess that depends on your needs. If the grid goes down and the water stops flowing from your faucet then the price wouldn't seem too high. That's why I've done so many videos on water filters, because it's a basic need that folks take for granted, but could be lost so easily due to storms or social unrest.

    It looks like your visit in Nebraska was enjoyable and informative. One point of fact that you may not know is that throughout the entire state there are no natural lakes. Every body of water is a reservoir. Good for crops, livestock and recreation. Just thought that I would toss that out for you. Carry on, you two! ... The primary intent for the Japanese incendiary balloons was to start forest fires or any fire for that matter. A few fatalities were recorded.

    • @juststeve7665
      @juststeve7665 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      each balloon carried 4 - 10 to 12 kg incendiary bombs and 1 - 25kg high explosive. The only known/recorded fatalities were @ Bly Oregon... 1 pregnant woman and 4 children (so actually 6?) who were going to have a picnic and discovered the high explosive bomb and accidentally set it off. The primary intent of the balloons was to terrorize the American public. U.S. Government censorship and control of the news media prevented that.

    I always find your videos relaxing and informative and frequently listen to them as I mow! But this video was special because you spent some time in the sandhills. Don't know if you remember a little church called Pleasant Point a couple miles south of the Mari Sandoz marker.
