I need to upgrade the existing poly on our pool to new PVC this weekend.
I had a couple questions on how, but this video answered them all.
    Thanks for the info!

The glue doesn't do anything in my opinion either. Depending on the location and access, heating is sometimes the only way that I have found to get the barbed fitting into the pipe.

All uploaded videos shall be picked apart, so my suggestion is use a 2 inch pvc pipe cutter. cheers!

PVC pipe is now considered an inferior product. For example, the entire country of Mexico is converting infrastructure piping to poly, which poly pipe can take all the faults and ground movement that cracks and destroys PVC pipe.
PVC pipe is also toxic, it contains phthalates which are endocrine mimickers.
Our company uses SDR 11 poly pipe for all our jobs which lay the poly pipe on the surface, where it will not freeze in our Texas climate, PVC pipe freezes like a champ, splits and cracks everywhere. Plus poly pipe lasts longer in sunlight compared to brittle PVC. This video is only valid for thin poly, the poly we use is too thick to use clamps, it will not squeeze down.
Try taking guy's repair on his video and flexing it - - his PVC fitting will crack like a champ.
Check out this video showing the brute strength of poly pipe versus inferior PVC:

100% agree with this. I own a pool company and I still insist on using polypipe.

what black poly pipe psi i safe for in-ground pools? 100? i Also, is pvc glue a good idea for poly pipe?

@@thepetrillos Poly pipe cannot be "glued", it uses compression fittings that cost $25 EACH or more, or heat welding, which is even more expensive. Pool piping uses lot's of connections and joints so too many compression couplings, too expensive. My work with poly pipe is I unroll 300 to 500 feet from a coil and connect one compression coupling at each end, that's it typically.

@@thepetrillos We use poly pipe adapters that are NOT $25 each, and stainless steel clamps. We heat the polypipe (not too much) and insert the adapters then tighten with two clamps. The polypipe basically melts into the shape of the groves on the adapter. We just renovated a pool that was 38 years old and the clamped poly pipe was just as good as new.

@@Natangz I have a pool from the 50's/60's that is using 1-1/4" Black Poly. It developed a crack and I cut out about a one-foot portion thinking it was ABS. Any idea where I can find 1-1/4" Black Poly and some fittings? I've tried all the big box stores, ma and pa, pool supplies, and plumbing in my area (So Cal) with no luck.

It is dangerous to use heat gun while 2 flammable weld solutions are nearby, cant understand the logic, otherwise OK.

I am surprised you didn't catch the table on fire, glue explosion with flame so close.
