    Hey man, I made a private playlist with alot of your pieces like this. I honestly haven't slept so good in years. I can't thank you enough. I've been working on FLstudio over the past year and I can't make anything that remotely sounds this good while putting all my focus into it. The fact that you set all these racks just perfect to make a perfect sounding ambient soundscape while barely monitoring the device for 4 hours blows my damn mind, let alone when you actually sit down and produce music on top of the soundscape you've provided yourself. Keep it up and then some, my dreams love the ambient stuff and my day loves the beats you make. I'm gonna start experimenting with FLstudio tomorrow and the patcher built in to see what I can make to generate ambient sound with minimal user input.

    (Deckard voice-over: The Bradley Building. I hadn't been here in thirty years. This was where I killed Pris. This was where Roy saved my life and talked about tears in rain. This was where Roy died. Why did I come back? What drew me here? I look at my daughter, standing at my side. I see Rachel in her face.)
    "You're sure about this?" I ask her.
    She nods as the elevator door opens. We step inside, the door closes, and we rise toward the roof.
    "Was she ever here?" my daughter asks.
    I shake my head. "I was here to retire two replicants."
    "Retire," she says. "You mean kill them."
    I nod. "Part of my job back then."
    We reach the top floor. The door opens and we step outside the elevator.
    My daughter looks at me. "Was it love that kept you from killing my mother?"
    I nod.
    "If you were ordered to," she asks, "would you kill me? Would you retire me?"
    "No," I say.
    "Even if I was 100% replicant?" she asks.
    "Even if," I say.
    "Why?" she asks.
    "Because you're my daughter," I say.
    We walk down the hall and into the chambers where Pris and Roy used to live. I can still see Pris lying on the floor, among the dolls, dead.
    We climb up to the rooftop. I can still see Roy sitting in the rain, releasing the dove he was holding. The dove rising into the grey skies.
    "I'm glad that you didn't kill him," my daughter says.
    "So am I," I say. "He taught me more about life than anyone else ever did. Except maybe your mother."
    "I wish I'd known her," my daughter says.
    The rain begins to fall, gently, steadily.
    "Rain drops are like tears," my daughter says. "The rain falls from the sky. Tears fall from our eyes. Proof that we are all human. All too human, in fact. Even the replicants." She looks up at the sky, closes her eyes. "If I were to die right now, this is where I would want to die. With my father at my side. Not Tyrell. You." She leans against me and I hug her, mostly to keep her from falling backward. But she trusts me not to let her fall and hurt herself. "I'm glad you came to find me. I'm glad I got to meet my father."
    "We're getting soaked," I say.
    "So be it," she says. "I'd rather be here than in the laboratory. At least here there is rain."
    "And tears," I say.
    "And tears," she says.
    (I improvised this while listening to the music. Feel free to add to it.)

    Hey State, what analog synths do yo recommend for film score. For those warm soundscapes & ambient Blade Runner/Dune/The Dark Knight/ type of sound. Wether u recommend one $7000 synthesizer or 3 different synths, it's ok, I want to know all options cause I'm all for it. My budget is around $6500- $8000 btw. Let me know your thoughts.

    • @stateazure
      @stateazure  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Difficult to answer that, I think it'd probably be better to understand which synths are used for certain OST that you really like and want to emulate. There are so many options today, and when it comes to analog gear I've only tried a handful..ie I'm no expert. My own feelings are, that I think analog by itself would be too limiting in the kind of sounds and textures they're capable of, and that you'd want to mix analog and digital. For example a Waldorf Iridium with a Novation Summit would take you a long way

    • @stateazure

      No idea on price, I don't think it matters, but probably over 20k £/E whatever. I've been collecting the modular stuff for almost 3 years I think. I use soft synths quite a bit actually! Such an amazing repertoire of sounds and knowledge you can pull together and arrange on the fly. 👏🏼. Curious what the sound design is behind the sequence that comes in around 22:30 and the modulation when you pull Planar backwards? Love that.

    • @stateazure
      @stateazure  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you! That sequence (sequenced by KSP), is the 4MS Ensemble Osc. one of my recent additions. It's going through a steiner-parker filter model on the Freak, with L and R cutoffs modulated at slightly different speeds (sine LFO), Planar is adjusting the Twist input on the Ensemble.

    • @vincentsky
      @vincentsky 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! I was just looking at a video on the Ensemble the other day. I had the Spherical Wavetable Navigator for awhile...but I was never able to leverage its power (my lack of experience). So now I’m cutting my teeth with Chord2 and making some wavetable for that...might do the same for E370 too. The Ensemble looks interesting. Realizing I’m more of a traditional wave source guy than tables.

    • @stateazure
      @stateazure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@vincentsky I didn't keep the SWN for very long either, but I have an aversion to button combinations, also i think the E370 sounds much better for wavetables. I'm very happy with the Ensemble though, it's probably the only 4MS module I'll actually keep :)

    • @vincentsky
      @vincentsky 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Something else weird, the SWN always boot up about ~7 cents sharp..just enough to be noticeable. Even after calibration... I would always have to tune it. 🤷🏻‍♂️ I recorded some custom sounds/wavetables into the SWN, but still couldn’t get it to sound like E370, which I like better too. Have had better luck with WaveEdit and that workflow for custom stuff. Now watching some tutorials...the Ensemble is a lot of what I loved about SWN but plus some cool params and minus the wavetable and UX....so I think it just landed on the short list after I get the studio re-arranged. Thanks again...

    Love to see a list of patches/gear as you drift through them, probably tough to generate, but would be very cool to see... Thank you!

      Are these factory presets? or yours? If yours, do you sell patches?

    Ok you have to do a patch notes. How does the guitar sound so much like genuine playing? Is it a Rings with lots of complex sequencing, or just a sample of guitar?

      Well this is from 2 years ago, so patch notes aren't happening. The guitar is sample based, I'm playing a live improvisation on the keyboard to the side of me, no modular used for that part, I'm using the DAW too.

    This music is excellent, I wonder if there will ever be machine generated melodic music (AI), with random rhythms. Computer self-composed music

    Ever try shopping around for doing music scores?

      Nope! But I'm not really too keen on turning music into work, not that I wouldn't be interested in the right project of course.
