This album has got me through college, university, work and now looks like it will get me through my phd as well. I've always struggled with whether I am smart enough, passionate enough, dedicated enough, I still feel I was never supposed to be a scientist. But then I listen to this artist, or carbon based lifeforms (or other similar artists), and this wave of curiosity, wonder and humility just washes over me. Thank you, Stellardrone, for wonderfully capturing these feelings in your music and inspiring the inner scientist in me to keep going. It's crazy how so many others have had their own experience, what an album.

    Hey guys.
    I am a 29 years old man.
When I listen to music like this I often must cry because I find it so beauiful. The same in nature... sometimes I can't understand how I am the only one that gets so emotional. Is it just me who feels like that or are there other people out there?
Sometimes I feel very alone because I want to be understood. But there are so few people who want to talk about deep stuff and think the same as I think.
Airglow is such a song where I really cried 10 minutes ago. The pictures I saw in my head, the feelings that I felt. Wow. It was incredible. A rush, feelings of freedom, of beauty, of unlimited possibilities and pictures of incredible stuff like space and love.

    Song 3: Eternity:
    Astronomer Carl Sagan's speech:
The spacecraft was a long way from home.
I thought it would be a good idea, just after Saturn, to have them take one last glance homeward. From Saturn, the Earth would appear too small for Voyager to make out any detail. Our planet would be just a point of light, a lonely pixel hardly distinguishable from the other points of light Voyager would see: nearby planets, far off suns. But precisely because of the obscurity of our world thus revealed, such a picture might be worth having.
So, here they are: a mosaic of squares laid down on top of the planets in a background smattering of more distant stars. Because of the reflection of sunlight off the spacecraft, the Earth seems to be sitting in a beam of light, as if there were some special significance to this small world; but it's just an accident of geometry and optics. There is no sign of humans in this picture: not our reworking of the Earth's surface; not our machines; not ourselves. From this vantage point, our obsession with nationalisms is nowhere in evidence. We are too small. On the scale of worlds, humans are inconsequential: a thin film of life on an obscure and solitary lump of rock and metal.
Consider again that dot. That's here. That's home. That's us. On it, everyone you love, everyone you know, everyone you've ever heard of, every human being who ever was lived out their lives. The aggregate of all our joys and sufferings; thousands of confident religions, ideologies and economic doctrines; every hunter and forager; every hero and coward; every creator and destroyer of civilizations; every king and peasant, every young couple in love; every mother and father; hopeful child; inventor and explorer; every teacher of morals; every corrupt politician; every supreme leader; every superstar; every saint and sinner in the history of our species, lived there - on a mote of dust suspended in a sunbeam.
The Earth is a very small stage in a vast cosmic arena.
Think of the endless cruelties visited by the inhabitants of one corner of this pixel on the scarcely distinguishable inhabitants of some other corner. How frequent their misunderstandings; how eager they are to kill one another; how fervent their hatreds. Think of the rivers of blood spilled by all those generals and emperors so that in glory and triumph they could become the momentary masters of a fraction of a dot. Our posturings, our imagined self-importance, the delusion that we have some privileged position in the universe, are challenged by this point of pale light.
Our planet is a lonely speck in the great enveloping cosmic dark. In our obscurity - in all this vastness - there is no hint that help will come from elsewhere to save us from ourselves. Like it or not, for the moment, the Earth is where we make our stand.
It has been said that astronomy is a humbling and character-building experience. There is perhaps no better demonstration of the folly of human conceits than this distant image of our tiny world. It underscores our responsibility to deal more kindly with one another, and to preserve and cherish the only home we've ever known.
    The pale blue dot.

Yes, this type of ambient I was a huge fan of seems like 87-91 were the best years most of my collection is from this era. That and a tiny little show Musical Star Streams which played on the radio every Sun. Didn't last long but at least it's still on the internet. I actually wrote a letter to the host of the show and he wrote me back! LOL. This cd reminds me of those days. Just chillin out, writing endlessly in the middle of the night......*sighs*

Wow this is some pretty amazing stuff.
Reminds me of the great ambient/electronica musicians like Michael Stearns, Klaus Schultze, Brian Eno, John Serrie and Steve Roach.
Really well done piece, deep and spacious, with just a hint of catchy melody here and there as well as some underlying melancholy. Selective rhythms and occasional minimalist approach - as if it's the main theme of somebody watching the night sky and dreaming of traveling between the stars some day... but not yet. Maybe not even in this life, but it's still nice to imagine such a trip, while looking at the majesty above our heads, when the sun goes down.
It's like the soundtrack to HST's orbital journey, starring with its single eye into the depths of our universe. Very inspirational music.

    • @jevry4307
      @jevry4307 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

at the beginning there couldn't have been only light and darkness. only darkness, as light requires matter to be created by (suns, heated gasses) and needs temperature to exist. no i think family guy, a yes tv show, explains the universe the best. something created the universe so the universe could create what created the universe so what could create the universe created the universe and so on. what started the chain will remain unknown for now
but yes if light exists wich travels in waves but is made of particles (photons) then in theory sound should also exist AS LONG there is matter for sound to travel trough. because in space, you can be heard actually.
but in vacuüm noone can hear you.
though space sounds created by magnetic fields are also fun if translated to sound waves
and sounds the same if sped up wich is a strange phenomenom
a question just popped up, if in religion god created earth and the universe, who created god?
would it be the same equasion as above, but "it" is reffered to as "god"?
god created the universe so it could create god so god could create the universe and so on
