This... This right here. 71 year old man, selling out concerts and performing like he's 20. That's what sets artists like him and the ones now apart. You're not gonna see Taylor Swift at 73 still making music, you're not gonna see drake around for even another 15 years. They're all gonna be has beens. They're music, it sounds good, for a little bit. But there's just no substance, there's no staying power, you hear a song from the Beatles and you feel something, you feel affection, love, peace, happiness. With songs now you feel the thump of a bass that wears thin after 5 plays. People ask why we listen to music by the Beatles and from the 70's. This is why, Bc here, in this video is a legend, you're not going to see any artist right now at 71 still on stage. This is a true artist. Not the filth that's put out now to make a quick buck. It's so sad that our generation doesn't get to grow up with this music.
Matthew Higgins you said it all Matthew, And it sounds like you grew up with the same music I did. True progressive rock, albums track through on rock stations few if any commercials. Back when the radio announcers were true personalities themselves, and plays the music that they got the program, and they new or without the music they were playing. Back in my home Philadelphia, my album collection was largely due to these legendary is DJs, such as Ed Sciaky, who helped put people like Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Yes on the map. Your comment is spot on!
Matthew Higgins I do agree with u to a point I mean when today's youth grow up and get older Taylor swift and drakes songs just may transport them as well ..just sayin
Yesterday i saw him.I cant even express how amazing it was.I can tell you it was/is VERY life changing and inspiring. The best day of my life!!,First ever concert at 13,Im VERY proud to say that!GREAT JOB!
Since 1974, when I was a kid, I listen this song. I used to turn off the lights on the night and listen it at high volume. Fantastic. The last May I watched him playing this master piece. Simply, I was knocked out. Goosebumps!
This song was the B side of Band on the Run, I think. So it came out in 1973. I remember flipping the 45 over at age 13 and listening to the song just out of curiosity and liked it from the start. Part of the attraction, other than it just being a great record, was the title. 1985 seemed so far into the future to a young kid, it was literally another lifetime. At the end of the record, I believe Paul went into the song of “Beware My Love” or maybe that was on the Live album he did. Paul has so many great songs that are lesser known and weren’t A side releases. He managed that with the Beatles and Wings. One of a kind.
I used to steal my sister's 45's and play them on my record player. I loved Band on the Run the first time she played it, but I remember her saying she hated the song on the flip side. I always had a better taste in music then she did, even at 5 years old (LOL), so first opportunity I got I snatched that 45 and played the B side and never looked back. Definitely my favorite song from Wings.
I agree, and more. I've always felt when all the Beatles, especially Paul, have passed to 'the other existence' there will be a MAJOR cosmological shift
im only 19 but the first time i heard this song i was hooked. i HAD to learn that piano part. and when i seen Paul in Phoenix on 3-28-10, he cracked into this one and i was the first one on my feet, in complete awe. best day of my life. thanks for sharing:)
You know , I heard this song this morning on Mark and Brian . They used a snippet as a bumper coming back from a break . I didn't know name of the song or who did it so I just typed in the few word I could remember "{She may get love but she won't get mine " and it just popped up THANKS TH-cam !!!
Thansk so much for this. Its the last track on Band on the Run. When I was a teenager I must have played that cassette a thousand times. And this was my favourite track.
MY FAVORITE SONG OF PAUL. I LOVE YOU PAUL THANK YOU FOR INCLUDING THIS SONG IN YOUR NEW TOUR I SAW YOU IN MEXICO CITY IT WENT BRILLIANTLY, AMAZING AND MAJESTICALLY! GOD BLESS YOU. PAUL MCCARTNEY THE BIGGEST FOREVER!
I was alive in 1973...with a major band (capital records) at the time...and we just would shake our heads at the stuff McCartney would do! He is still doing it!
WHAT A GENIUS GUY. who could explain the talent of pauly???. this song represents the life of many people. it's only fantastic. don't never die, dear pauly!!!!.
FANTASTIC GUY.
HEY Hi Paul I love this song, you are the best & I love YOUU, my friend's parents went to your last concert, and she showed me the videos OH GOD they were AMAZING jaja just as all of your concerts. You should come to my hometown, Costa Rica sometime PLEASE!!!
Just found this. Is there any better sounding string of words in any song than "Well, I just can't get enough of that sweet stuff my little lady gets behind"? I always thought it should be "gets me high", though.
I only discovered the song this weeks thanks to Band on the Run/McCartney radio on XM. I LOVE this song! I am playing it so much my neighbors are probably tired of it. :) It's just stellar, as is this performance. I only wish I could see more of Paul's right hand at the piano.
@f3d3z So true - I'm only 15 - LOVE HIS MUSIC! Seen him live 3 times - Incredible - most amazing experiences of my life. He played this on 20th June at Hampden, Glasgow, Scotland. I didnt even remember hearing it before - instantly loved it from the first few notes
@SouthCoastMass I had to watch again after reading your comment , but your right he does seem to be reading off a teleprompter, he also sang a different line in the song somewhere in the middle but it was still very good.
Paul I WENT SEE TO YOU IN SHOW IN RIO DE JANEIRO IN MAY 22,2011 WONDEFUL BECASE YOU IS A KING A MAGIC A GENIUS THE BEST OF THE BEST WORLD COMES MEET ME IN PORTO ALEGRE BAZIL.
Love this tune, one of my favorite Wings songs. But the lead guitarist at the end, who overtook and dominated everything in rude fashion made me wonder if Dave Gilmour was nearby.
Paroles: On no one left alive in 1985, will ever do She may be right She may be fine She may get love but she won't get mine 'Cause I got you Oh, oh I, oh oh I Well I just can't enough of that sweet stuff My little lady gets behind (Shake it, baby, don't break it) Oh my mama said the time would come When I would find myself in, love with you I didn't think I never dreamed That I would be around, to see it all come true Whoa oh oh I, oh oh I Well I just can't get enough of that sweet stuff My little lady gets behind Ah no one left alive in 1985, will ever do She may be right She may be fine She may get love but she won't get mine 'Cause I got you Oh oh I, oh oh I Well I just can't get enough of that sweet stuff My little lady left behind
@mydlands That would have been nice for me too when I took the video! But I was kind of limited by where I was sitting. I would have loved to be up on stage with those official cameramen!

+Matthew Higgins 73
+Matthew Higgins right on man well written whatever happened to the real musicians

James Tsunis I agree, he said it all, and I could only embellish that great perception!
Matthew Higgins I do agree with u to a point I mean when today's youth grow up and get older Taylor swift and drakes songs just may transport them as well ..just sayin

A Real Legend and in my eyes the most Famous Person on this Planet.
I agree, and more. I've always felt when all the Beatles, especially Paul, have passed to 'the other existence' there will be a MAJOR cosmological shift
I still can't believe Paul and Wings never performed this Live ever... this is my fav song on Band on the Run
how can anyone dislike this...Paul is a fucking God !!!
im only 19 but the first time i heard this song i was hooked. i HAD to learn that piano part. and when i seen Paul in Phoenix on 3-28-10, he cracked into this one and i was the first one on my feet, in complete awe. best day of my life. thanks for sharing:)

You know , I heard this song this morning on Mark and Brian . They used a snippet as a bumper coming back from a break . I didn't know name of the song or who did it so I just typed in the few word I could remember "{She may get love but she won't get mine " and it just popped up

Love that song. I thought I was the only person that tripped out on Paul’s brilliance and I use to know Leon Russell back in the 70’s.
Paul, You Will live Forever
This has always been my favorite Wings song love the piano in it.
Who wouldn't? It drives the whole song...though the vocals ain't too shabby either. 😉
I still say he should have done this during the half time show at the super bowl.
Thansk so much for this. Its the last track on Band on the Run. When I was a teenager I must have played that cassette a thousand times. And this was my favourite track.
Can't fault you for that. I love that whole album, and this zippy number is a wonderful closer.
Best track on the BOTR album IMO. I love it

@SouthCoastMass
I had to watch again after reading your comment , but your right
he does seem to be reading off a teleprompter, he also sang a different
line in the song somewhere in the middle but it was still very good.
seen this live on sunday at HAMPDEN PARK
Genius!
Amo esta canción ! El sonido pudo haber estado mejor, la batería está muy alta y distorsiona el BUEN MÀRCO 🎵🎶🎵🎶🎹
Paul I WENT SEE TO YOU IN SHOW IN RIO DE JANEIRO IN MAY 22,2011 WONDEFUL BECASE YOU IS A KING A MAGIC A GENIUS THE BEST OF THE BEST WORLD COMES MEET ME IN PORTO ALEGRE BAZIL.
The Stones are around the same age and still rocking....
Love this tune, one of my favorite Wings songs. But the lead guitarist at the end, who overtook and dominated everything in rude fashion made me wonder if Dave Gilmour was nearby.
If it didn't bother Sir Paul himself why would we complain? Maybe he liked it that way.
I think about the bass lines from the Beatles and then he sits down and just hammers the piano...what a talent.....never again
Paroles:
On no one left alive in 1985, will ever do
She may be right
She may be fine
She may get love but she won't get mine
'Cause I got you
Oh, oh I, oh oh I
Well I just can't enough of that sweet stuff
My little lady gets behind
(Shake it, baby, don't break it)
Oh my mama said the time would come
When I would find myself in, love with you
I didn't think
I never dreamed
That I would be around, to see it all come true
Whoa oh oh I, oh oh I
Well I just can't get enough of that sweet stuff
My little lady gets behind
Ah no one left alive in 1985, will ever do
She may be right
She may be fine
She may get love but she won't get mine
'Cause I got you
Oh oh I, oh oh I
Well I just can't get enough of that sweet stuff
My little lady left behind
@mydlands That would have been nice for me too when I took the video! But I was kind of limited by where I was sitting. I would have loved to be up on stage with those official cameramen!
Damn, I wish he sounded like this still.
@JHULIOCFR1975 diria lo mismo que tu dijiste!! fantastica cancion!
If Paul isn't a genius... then there is no such thing.
WAH~
His voice is no where near what it use to be in 2000, let alone 1990. it was even better in the year 1985
Good
