    Another great Raleigh from the 80s. I had the Raleigh Delta which, I think, was similar spec to this one.

      Thanks for watching and the comment, Raleigh Delta yes was from the same time period. They seem to have had a lot of personalised saddles done. The frame was probably the same just different paint job. Thanks again all the best Andy

    Nice resto! Had the series 1 Quadra with 6sp 1050 group, a fine machine. Seen lots of them for sale with corrosion on the top tube for some reason but that one looked pretty tidy. Keep up the good work!

      I have a mystery Bianchi I brought back but a previous owner had rattle canned it so I have no idea the model or steel. Searching for serial numbers for Bianchi's is almost impossible. Can you post some pictures of yours? Mine was originally red, the stripped down frame weighed 2110 gms, size 56 seat tube, 70mm italian thread bottom bracket. I'm guessing early 80's model, nice campy bits, headset and mechs, Ofmega hubs, unbranded crank set but possibly Ofmega or campy. Any help would be appreciated. I can also post pictures, Thanks

      Thanks for watching and the support. No way you cycle around here. Majority of the time I’ll have my old retro blue Oakley’s on and ride a Canyon a lot of the time. I live in Hazel Grove and as a rule I try and include the Goyt Valley in most of my riding when I’m out just cycling. By all means give me a nudge and say hello if you see me 😉👍all the best for Christmas 🎄 and hopefully may see you sometime in the new year

      @@BikeItUK Yes we use the Goyt valley after Staly Vegas and Dukinfield to pass by Hazel Grove on route to the Cheshire lanes and cafe stops at Wilmslow, Handforth, Alderly edge etc. Nice n" flat around there or really hilly on the other side. Cheers.

  • @lewis72
    @lewis72 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Wow. looks fantastic !!
    I have the Record Ace Moderne from this year... still in my garage... Needs a few items changing:
    Some muppet at a bike store years ago took it upon himself to swap out the (worn) Shimano Santé headset for a 105 one when I asked for new rims to be fitted. The standard rims, as on this Quadra II, were Alesa anodised but the front rim had a misalignment at the join, so it shaved the brake blocks badly. It's now on Mavic MA40s now, which are good-looking period rims but not grey. I've also got a NOS Santé headset to go back on it.
    700C x20mm tyres. The *only* choice for an '80s retro rebuild. (unless you can get 18mm !!)
    The bike just doesn't look right on all-black tyres.

    • @BikeItUK
      @BikeItUK  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching and the supporting comment. I have been looking at your bike to get on the channel. Amazing frames 653 tubing and look fantastic with the matching white Shimano Groupset. It’s a hard Groupset to locate for spares. Regarding the tyres I stubbles across some on eBay which were new but old stock gum wall tyres. I’d just keep searching the net they do come up but are becoming harder to come by as the days go by. Good luck and all the best Andy

    I think a lighting setup that emphasizes the bike would be better. When I look at the scene the bike looks like a part of the background and colors are lost. Maybe it's about camera settings? Or my eyes? Oh God am I blind!? :D Nice video, thanks.

      Hi Roy, hope all is well with you thanks for tuning in and watching and your on going support. The answer to your question is yes I do and have done smaller Restorations, however I do try and keep them to my size. I’m more influenced by the bike itself the company and model and if it’s a worth restoring. A lot on the market now are already restored or I have already featured them. I’m sure a 54 will come up.
