- Happy Mothers Day to all the mums out there!
Once again I took off to explore my backyard, this time it was a quick little overnighter at Marthavale Hut. I had the place all to myself, I set up camp in a cracker of a spot beside the Nicholson River. In the morning I traveled the Nicholson River Track back home, it was a great track with many water crossings, bog holes and some steep hills.
I"d highly recommend checking both of these out if you are in the area.

Bloody ripper Gav great looking Country ,and I agree 100% about the grubs that do that stuff at Huts and campgrounds I've lost count of the amount of rubbish I've taken out of the bush in the last 60 odd years.
@@rodgeorge7244 best part about it is that it is really is in my backyard.
Some people have no respect these days, and that hut would have only been open for a month I’d say at that time. 🤦🏽

Too easy mate. It can get a bit tricky the Nicho Track in the wet, and I think it’s a seasonal closure … so you might be the first to drive it if you take it on.
have a heap of mates from Bairnsdale Dargo Lindenow ,great area to live ,my inlaws live at Newlands Arm ,nice place but the damm mozzies will almost fly off with your stubbie holders they are massive and sometimes they cop that blue green algae ,thanks for upload its given me a new lease off life to get back in touch with the scrub ,been into the suburbs far tooooooo long

went down woollybutt bout a month ago, mostly overgrown and a nice steep section past the old mines but I didn't find it difficult.
Thanks Jason, I was told it was a wild bit of track, but you never know how experienced that person is either. I’ll have to have a look at next time I’m going past it.

@@aguyandhistroopy in the wet coming from Nicholson river trk end might raise the stakes but it was dry when I went down it. I also live in wy yung you may have seen my ex army perentie getting around, we could do a trip sometime..

Use a couple of different one. Sticky mount on the dash, flexible arm with a clamp and sometimes a 3footed monster.

Thanks Dylan. I’d say without stopping to film you would do it in 3-4 hours from memory… this would depend on the height of the creeks.

But I’d reckon with a lot of rain it would be difficult to get through a few spots !
I went up Woollybutt with a mate about 6 years ago. Very steep, shaley and from memory a few off camber sections as well. We didn’t make it all the way but that’s another story.

Yeah. Thought I’d might as well add it to the video. You obviously know the area? Is the Quarry Creek Track open. I’ve been told it’s was closed ?
@@aguyandhistroopy nah, don't know it that well, but I stayed in the same spot u did, Hut was just finished, literally didn't even have a cobweb and I might have been the first to use that fire pit.

One thing that lives in my 4WD all the time is a gold pan, a lot of the places you explore in your vids have creeks and areas that hold gold and a lot of history that surrounds it, I live locally and have prospected many creeks and rivers in the local area 👍
Yeah, good point… I have thought about this before. I probably should carry a pan, but I wouldn’t know what to look for to tell the truth, I should check out a few if your videos. 👍🏼

Yeah not good practice. Normally forget to grab the muffs etc out of the work ute mate to tell the truth. It’s no excuse … but have grown up around chainsaw and quick cuts etc.
If anything I’m more concerned about the hearing aspect of the safety.

Oops, I'm a dickhead. But then again I have a very basic dual battery set up with only one cigarette lighter socket which runs my ALDI fridge. Maybe one day when I have the dosh I will be able to have hot chicken instead of boring wraps and sangers on the run...lol.
Nothing wrong with a few wraps there Gravel Road. Some time less is better. Sometimes I wish my set up was a little less complicated.
