Wow! Incredible grower! I LOVE your videos and how he takes care of them to get the results he does. Keep doing videos... I would like to see how he roots his cuttings and how he makes his mix.
Carlos you are an awesome guy! The trees that you gave me are growing so well that I put them in my TH-cam videos. There are so many more varieties that I need to collect. Lets meet up again soon. I am hoping to go to Fig Festival with you next year! Adam BC Fig Farm and Fruit Orchard Bergen County, New Jersey

So impressive video, thanks so much for your sincere information, Your trees are so healthy, no yellow leaves or dropping fruit, unfortunately I got some of my fig trees leaves turned yellow at middle of summer. I am in baltimore county , it’s zone 7a. So i keep my trees in door at winter.
What's the full name of the yellow Portuguese fig mentioned at 17:40? It wiuld be very helpful to note the names of all of the different figs named at each time line.
Carlos, hello! I have a question about your Moro de Caneva tree, which you mention is grafted. I'm wondering what it is grafted onto, for the rootstock? I am contemplating what to do with my MdC in terms of grafting it onto something, and I assume you are happy with what you've got - if not please elaborate. If you did the graft yourself, what factors did you take into account when choosing the rootstock for this potted plant?
What fertilizer does he use before they go dormant? Mine are dormant. Can I put dry fertilizer now in to the soil befor they wake up un a couple of months?
What are the varieties of the asian pear and persimmons are these and what is the name of the yellow on that you shared? Wish that you would share all of your different fig variety names with us and which ones do best in your area fir us others that are in cold zones. So even being in NY you keep many of these outside uncovered and they still come back?
Yes, that's what is recommended ,the trees start getting out around April 5th some shuffle may occur depending on the weather, last spring frost was April 18.
Very impressive!! These trees look so healthy. Carlos, what do you use for potting soil? I started using Miracle Grow potting soil. Also, do you sell on Figbid? I’ve been looking for the Iranian candy.
If you have 200 Figs like you said can you tell me about ice crystal variety? Cause i don't know what is wrong with it. Their fruit always drop before rippen and i'm not sure how this happened while other variety with same grow and care seems normally, probably something which i don't know can make the fruit can be rippen like other variety. I live in tropical country with only had 2 seasons summer and rain. Need help if you know something 🙏
No they are common Figs they can rippen them self but from 30 fruit only 3 can manage to be rippen while other Will fall , we don't have Figs wasp here and the taste is really sweet but there must be another reason why they can't set all fruit to be rippen.
Yes they do ,the ones from 1 to 5 gallons pots get special attention because they dry faster they should be checked every 3 weeks and water accordingly ,the other ones every 6 weeks we going to make a video of how they are stored and watered .He use a pvc pipe to pour water in the hard to reach trees.
Very nice collection. Sorry to tell you, Carlos, but it impossible to Air Layer a Persimmon Tree. It is one of those trees, that will not produce roots in an AL. I have tried a dozen times before I found out it won't work. Although a persimmon is easy to graft. Good Luck.
This is insane GOD BLESS! Thank you so much for sharing this and the tips. I also am from NJ and have started around 10 fig trees. Just one question, that other video you made where you show how you fertilize, In what months do you fertilize?
@@FigCzar I'm a little confused about fertilizing tree after they fruit, towards end of season. Doesn't this cause new leaf growth at time of year tree ready to go into winter dormancy?
If you never prune at one point the trees are just way too big no? When it grows 8 to 12 inch you pinch it in june every per year And it doesnt grow much from that point maybe some side shoots under the new growth but at one point the tree is taller than you can reach ur going to have to do some serious pruning unless im missing something here.
I prune as necessary, to shape the tree ,some undesirable branches ,etc, when you get a lot heat and sunlight they don't grow that much in pots ,also some varieties are more aggressive growers than others and those eventually you have to trim .If you check the trees in the videos ,specially at the beginning of the season you will notice that most of them hasn't been pruned. When you pinch the tree new branches will emerge ,it would delay the growth for a couple weeks .
A wealth of information. Thank you!
I really impressed , your passion for figs and hard work.
This is amazing!😲 Hoping my few Fig trees in my backyard can produce crazy delicious figs like yours in the video.
Amazing 🤩 this guy is on another level
That’s a massive fig collection. Awesome 👏 😊

Hey Alex. You should come down to make a video before the trees go to sleep. 👍👍
When I see figs like the Lugo de Portugal I normally eat what the birds left me ! :)
Carlos, if you do not prune these gorgeous trees, do you root prune to keep them from becoming 15 to 20 feet tall in their pots?
I live in Buffalo man I've been struggling with figs for like 5 years. Beautiful trees.

Very nice and informative video! How many times do you prune the roots of your huge fig trees?
The 25 gallon pots every 3 years!
How do you have Asian pears in New Jersey?
I thought they only grow in warm climates. I'm in Colorado and would love to plant Asian pears.
WOW!!🥰
Please ask Carlos what kind of heat does he use to keep the figs warm in the shed outside for the big trees
I noticed no fig rust on the leaves unlike with other fig growers'? Could anyone tell why? thank you
To get so many gorgeous trees you really have to hustle. Don’t know how y’all do it. I’m learning though 😅
What things do you look for to be able to pick a perfectly ripe fig?
What fertilizer does he use before they go dormant? Mine are dormant. Can I put dry fertilizer now in to the soil befor they wake up un a couple of months?
Hi could you explain the no pruning, wouldn’t the figs eventually get root bound and also get too tall?
You have to prune the roots after 3 years if necessary ,you control the hight of the tree by pinching the tree when it reaches a certain hight .
I would like t to get some clippings if you sell them, i am also in NJ.
The Fig King
What do you use to fertilize your fig trees?
Do you give Miracle Gro liquid fertilizer before dormancy, or a slow release?
Slow release ,all purpose shake and feed.
