Plus selling this to a new user who probably already has somthing at home that works fine not seeking the best just wanting to play games. Btw, as SolarLight mentions in his Controller video, if you have a controller with a gyroscope and enable flick stick you can do a lot with just a controller.
You aim precisely by moving your controller, and you can spin and flick using the right stick for example. Now you can avoid a lot of the simultaneous controller and keyboard input issues in some games. I think you can even enable this stuff directly through steam rather than the game having to support it.

I've had mine for over 4 years upgraded to the cyborg after the first 2 years. I only use my keyboard to type in chat while gaming. It's completely changed my love for games I put down in the past due to wrist pain. The only bad thing I would say is sometimes the screws get loose over time but it's easy to tighten everything and adjust angles to your liking. Also sometimes if you pull too hard on the claw grip areas it will lift up if your using the optional angle stand.

RSI is a big concern these days, i had to quit brawlhalla and still feel the pains, and that wasn't even on kb but on controller! I think more awareness should be raised for the importance of better peripheral methods and ergonomics and make big changes, even just the concept of not constantly crushing the radius and ulna together with flat wrist angles is so alien to gamers it's bad

@@-YELDAH that's good too but it's less about ergonomics and peripheral methods and more about awareness for exercise, everyone needs to do more strengthening and stretching to support this taxing hobby.
Rest and better ergonomics can alleviate symptoms and delay them, but it doesn't do anything to counteract them.
IMO that's especially where more awareness is needed, because it feels like people think that buying a new product is somehow going to fix them, when primarily it's their habits and routines that need work.
Gaming on this level being a relatively new thing most normal physicians are also not properly informed unless they actually specialise in that direction, their general advice is just rest and a brace

Oh god I see what's going on with the Orbital Straif. In effect, it's just a regular airstraifing, but you're removing the middle man, which is the mouse, by using a Joystick instead of a Mouse. As the purpouse of turning the mouse is to produce that smooth gradual change in direction, like that of a *_Joystick_* , something the keyboard can't produce dues to being limited by 8 direction. With a Joystick, you natrually produce this smoothness, so the whole moving your mouse to airstraife is redundant, and like you showed, frees up your mouse to, you know, aim at the enemy gamer.
Now you still need to pay atention to where you're moving to airstraif properly, the basic rules still apply even if you don't need the mouse anymore, so it's not like you can helicopter around and avoid all airshots, or spin the joystick around to acheive infinite speed, but the fact stands that you're going to have a leg up against those who doesn't have a Joystick + Mouse combo. Even without airstrafing there's a decent amount of advantage to having better mobility than Keyboard players.

Small correction on the "why controller input is considered inferior" section: In Apex in particular, most of the high-level movement techs rely on a game mechanic known as "lurch," which is only applied when using a keyboard for movement. Most movement techs are physically impossible to perform with an analogue stick, simply because the game behaves fundamentally differently when using analogue movement inputs as opposed to digital ones.

That snap at 6:50 looks like blatant aimbot. Your hand comes to a stop while the crosshair is to the left of the enemy, and while you're not moving your hand it bounces back and snaps onto the enemy. Micro adjustments like that are not possible, not to mention the way it snaps when watching frame by frame. The device seems interesting, though.

You're correct. I've looked at this video for about 30 minutes to try to justify some of the things that are easily detectable, and while some of them you could say "sure maybe," there are clear cases where it's simply not human behavior. Especially given that there are comparators in the same video montage from game to game where natural aim is occurring and also that there are hand cams at times where the synchronization between the movements is completely desynced with what is happening in game. Not at a level that would be explainable through latency differences because "streaming" or whatever would cause the discrepancy.

No way bro, gaming culture has always been this way and this aspect of it has always been fun unless you prefer stagnation over progression.
EOMM is what's ruining the fun and making you feel like it's overly competitive. It's artificial. Instead of fair matches, you're getting matched up by an algorithm designed to keep everyone playing the longest. That means you're the stomper when the algorithm is worried you'll quit after another bad game, and the stompee when the algorithm needs to let someone else win.

The fact that this guy says he felt free using an analog stick is hilarious to me because I felt free using the trackpad on Steam controller to move where you can set an edge binding to Sprint giving you even more movement options. I will say though on a weird controller like this I don't think you could replace the joystick with the trackpad like Valve did on a regular controller.
I must say that you can technically add the edge binding in Steam to the joystick to have sprinting when you full tilt but maybe it's cuz I'm just used to lots of FPS games on 360 it and whatnot so I don't like it myself.
The other benefit to the pad is that you can place your finger wherever you want and your finger is just resting there rather than having to fight the joystick trying to go back to center.

As casual mobile player for most fps games for mostly performance and convenience, I really like the stick style movement. You can still walk slowly and quickly at any direction without the need of extra buttons, giving you more screen room and making something like walking or strafing an easier habit then if you had a button to run and a dpad to strafe, already using 2 fingers to utilize out of your 4+ finger grip.

i love seeing weird experimental playstyles, but this one really has so much potential, it's literally the best of both worlds while not having too much of a learning curve.
also would love to see more people experiment with analog keyboards for controller-like inputs in specific games, i'd imagine thats more practical for many other games, as compared to an entirely new keypad (tho analog functionality with keyboards seem to be pretty controversial in competitive play? still think its rly cool)

Thanks for showcasing this, it caught my attention a while ago. Love the fact you're an actually good FPS player and showed the new advanced movement possibilities. I considered this because of the idea of being able to naturally counterstrafe diagonal movements in CS, but being able to keep aim tracking while air strafing is enormous. I probably would have loved this for Chivalry 1, there was a controller player who was able to sprint nearly sideways.

When I first looked at the Azeron keypad my impression was almost precisely the opposite of yours.
"It's like a keyboard but without any useless extra movement" was my first impression of the device.
Curiously, though, the idea of analog movement was not something I've been particularly attracted to. I was actually thinking about binding the relevant finger buttons to WASD and using that traditionally - but now with a lot faster input without any useless finger motions from button to button. It's the sheer number of keys and their utmost accessibility to the fingers at all times has honestly been the greatest selling point for me.
However, having seen this video, perhaps I won't splurge on an Azeron. Perhaps I really should try a Wooting first as I long have wanted.
