I did a video showing how to unlock the bootloader of the Redmi Note 12 here on my channel (it should be easy for you to find). that video will also work for the redmi note 12 pro sadly, though, the redmi note 12 pro has a mediatek chipset and those phones are RARE to get custom ROMs. i think you should still unlock the bootloader though, in case you need to flash the firmware to recover from a bootloop. but things like root, and custom ROMs are likely to not work although, you could look into installing a GSI ROM. those are different than full custom ROMs as you end up missing out on some hardware features (fingerprint sensor is a common one that doesn't make it). but it could be better than using MIUI
it does but only IF you can unlock the bootloader and only IF the CPU in the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon model - th-cam.com/video/Dsf7nrkgqQQ/w-d-xo.html

have you tried following the steps in this video? it should be exactly the same
where do I copy the boot file?
from which steps? you need to copy the boot file from the firmware to the phone. patch it with magisk, then copy the patched version back to the PC. and then flash it via fastboot mode
Hello guys, i did eveything like in he video bu i have a hge issue and that is h fastboot it is elling me that there is no comand like that
which version of adb/fastboot tools are you using?
Work on Redmi Note 12s?
it will IF the SoC in the phone is from Qualcomm. I don't think it works on MediaTek chips
@@ExplainingAndroid the chip is Mediatek :(
@@sebassoria4783 I'm not aware of a way to root mediatek phones right now

Is it possible to do this with a mac computer instead? Thank you!
on my 3rd xiaomi device and this video was first time i head it said out loud. sh-ow-me. lol ngl in my head it was ix-aye-oh-mee 😂 yours makes more sense
hello my dear, how are you?
could you record a video recovering the redmi note 12 pro? I tried to install another rom, now it's blocked, the MIUI that was Chinese is in English, with the message saying it's not compatible, I've tried everything in XiamiTool V2, but as it's locked I don't know what to do.. :/
I did a video showing how to unlock the bootloader of the Redmi Note 12 here on my channel (it should be easy for you to find). that video will also work for the redmi note 12 pro
sadly, though, the redmi note 12 pro has a mediatek chipset and those phones are RARE to get custom ROMs. i think you should still unlock the bootloader though, in case you need to flash the firmware to recover from a bootloop.
but things like root, and custom ROMs are likely to not work
although, you could look into installing a GSI ROM. those are different than full custom ROMs as you end up missing out on some hardware features (fingerprint sensor is a common one that doesn't make it). but it could be better than using MIUI
there's an unofficial twrp for this phone
For Redmi 12 is official
That looks like a knock off of Samsung UI 😂
xiaomi does "borrow" a lot of UI inspiration from both Samsung as well as Apple
what if my phone model doesn't have fastboot?
I'm pretty sure all Android devices either have a fastboot mode or a download mode. it's required

Hello bro does this work for the Redmi note 12 pro (Indian Version)?
it does but only IF you can unlock the bootloader and only IF the CPU in the phone is the Qualcomm Snapdragon model - th-cam.com/video/Dsf7nrkgqQQ/w-d-xo.html
@@ExplainingAndroid Yes i could unlock the bootloader and it perfectly works on mediatek lol
Thanks for the video :)
@@nemesheesh897 that's awesome to hear about it working for the mediatek version! thanks for sharing :)
no need to unlockbootloader??
yes, you must unlock the bootloader first
"Flashing is not allowed in Lock State" yay, love it when I follow a tutorial to the exact millisecond only to get an error for no damn reason
I'm sorry you ran into this issue, but in the video description I mention "NOTE - An Unlocked Bootloader is REQUIRED to flash the patched file shown in this video."
I also link to the bootloader unlock tutorial I made for this phone. you are correct in that I didn't mention it in the video itself. I do apologize for that
@@ExplainingAndroid Nah, ain't your fault, I apologise if I came off snarky, it's just incredibly frustrating in general to follow any tutorial to have one error in the way that adds on another 30 mins to whatever you're trying to do.

I can't guarantee that I'll be able to help solve this particular issue, but if you're wanting 1-to-1 dedicated support then I will need you to join the Direct Support tier of the TH-cam membership system - www.youtube.com/@ExplainingAndroid/join
After that, you can use the Support Thread I created (which helps me to follow up along the way) and it will allow me to dedicate some time and attempt to work through the issue with you

Can i do the same with redmi 12c?
Yes! The process would be the same (just download the firmware that matches your phone)
Can we do this on hyperos?
Yes you can. Just made it on my Redmi K40 Gaming China Edition that user Hyper OS.
