- This is a recorded webinar with certified translator Marco Hanson of Texan Translation, the fourth in a series of four that were approved for American Translators Association continuing education points in 2022. Using an actual death certificate from Mexico (altered for privacy), Marco walks translators through the process of creating a certified translation for legal purposes in the United States: probating a will, closing out a life insurance policy, transporting remains for burial, etc.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge!!! 🤩🤗🤓
Marco is a team player. A great example as well as the content of this video.
Thank you very much!
I would love to see an updated Mexican birth certificate translation :D thank you. :)
Thank you for your content!
You're very welcome!
Loved your video and explanations.
Much respect Sir! This is very helpful!
Thank you!
Hi, great content, is it compulsory to put a stamp and signature of my company on the translated document?.
If yes, where should it be place.
Great content!
Awesome...thank you sir..
Did you also notice the new certificates have a watermark "I am Mexico" below the circular seal of Mexico? ;)
Yes! They keep evolving.
Great stuff! Will you be posting the finished translation in your blog?
Yes! Just posted it. Thanks for the reminder.
Do you translate other States? For example NY's death Certificate is more complex. This is very helpful!
Yes, we've done death certificates from about 20 of the US states, and you're right: some are absurdly complex and time-consuming.
Can you add Atty? for LIC.
Super help!!¡!!!!
Oh good, glad to hear it!
Do you recommend adding a [back of page] for my second page which will be the back part of my birth certificate or just add the number page on the bottom and let them figure it out themselves?
Either one is okay, but I like the former option. The monolingual government employees who process these will appreciate everything being very clear and obvious.
how can I have the copy of the template
Do you recommend adding a header and footer when translating a birth certificate? To add the file name, my info or page number?
Yes, that's a good practice, to make it clear which pages you created and certified, and which came from elsewhere.
