"Authentic Energy" is a great way to put it, Nena. One of the first things to ever interest me in The Warning, from the second TedX performance (which was my intro to the group a few years back), was Dany's expressiveness and how she "wears the song" on her face and body gestures. The way her eyebrows move to emphasize certain parts of Survive drew me in, for instance. And later, especially in performances off of the Queen of the Murder Scene album, she really knows how to embody the character of each song. Aside from the songs themselves, Dany just comes across as a sweet and goofy person, full of love and very nurturing to those around her. Impossible not to like her.

I'm the guy at a party with the lampshade on my head and never at a loss for words. The first time I met the girls (January of 2019 in LA) I was with a group of guys that know that about me.
When the girls came over to talk to me,my mouth got ahead of my brain and I got tongue-tied,which brought out an unexpected loud group laughter from my friends.
Dany turned and looked at them, then walked up to me,gave me a big hug and patted me on the back while whispering in my ear that everything was okay and don't let the laughter bother me! I later told my buddies it was the first time I was ever "mothered" by an 18 year old 🥰
I have a few more stories about my times with them over the years, but that one is my first and truly shows Dany's heart, such a caring & empathetic young lady.
The thing that always sticks out to me is how seriously she takes her big sister role and how obvious it is that Pau & Ale absolutely adore her for embracing that place in their lives.
If I could spend a day hanging out with anyone I choose,it would be Dany. She's the happiest person I've ever been around and talk about a charismatic personality, hers is simply beyond compare.
I'll end with this, all 3 sisters top my list as the most interesting young ladies I've ever known and I've been around for 67 years, following their career for the last 9 years, and needless to say I've met a lot of people in my time, but none compare to these sisters & their parents, also 2 amazing human beings ❤️
Thank you for the time you've given to this awesome family 🤘⚡️🤘

Hi Nina! I think you nailed it again. As her father< Luis described Dany, "She is a sweetheart". I think her sisters genuinely look up to, respect and love her dearly. She clearly loves people and goes out of her way to connect with fans. I chatted briefly with her in an Instagram chat and months later, when I met her a Meet and Greet, she remembered me by name. I was floored! It's obvious to see her in person that it is not an act. She is such a genuinely wonderful person, as are her sisters. I think that is why the Warning Army is so protective and feel like family! It all stems from the sisters' kindness! They are very special indeed!

Dany would be an amazing teacher for sure. People around her agree on that she is a caring leader who is willing to work hard and has a big big heart. She seems to love having fun and bringing a smile out of everyone, she is not afraid of being goofy but on stage she embraces the spirit of each song, becoming a vessel for whatever emotion they are trying to convey. On top of that she is gorgeous without trying to just sell her image or being artificially attractive. She might be my favorite as well although it is hard to say because each one of the Villarreal sisters is unique and admirable! Thanks a lot for your analysis, I enjoy your videos a lot because your opinions are on point and your voice and delivery are very soothing but still show how passionate you are about the subject matter. I had the pleasure and privilege of being at the acoustic show in Montreal in November 2022, and one thing that the none of the videos picked up was just how proud she is of her sisters. When Pau started on the piano, she crouched down to remove herself from attention, looked at her and just smiled in admiration. It was a very genuine moment, and it gave me a little insight into the bond that they share.

The best thing about watching Dany, like all the members of the Warning, is that she is really growing as a musician and performer. I was checking out her earlier performances and she, now, has this swagger, a rock goddess' swagger, that gives her charismatic command over her audience. And she seems to be more comfortable with her voice and letting its power take over. She doesn't seem to be afraid of her voice anymore. My favourite guitar performance by Dany is her performance for the live version of Metallica's Atlas Rise -- her chops are blazing. But I also noticed in her later performances, particularly those for shows in Columbia and Peru, she is more emotional, and expressive to the Spanish-speaking audiences. (If I was to see the Warning perform again, I'd really want to see them with a Spanish-speaking audience. Something different just comes out of them in those settings.) And recently, Dany has been more open about herself, particularly during a recent IG event she had. It was on her personal channel and she wanted to share some personal thoughts and feelings about the loss of someone. She didn't elaborate, except to say that she felt that she was abandoned or that she abandoned someone. She sang and played a gut-wrenching version of "When I'm Alone", her eyes filled with tears. It was a moment of vulnerability that I haven't seen in Dany.

I'm glad she has music to comfort her, as well as her audience, for these tough moments. And I agree that it is a beautiful experience to watch her grow and evolve as a person/performer. I can't even imagine being in the spotlight since childhood! Amazingly, these ladies have remained kind and humble and simply have blossomed into even more incredible artists. It is a lovely gesture that they include their audience in so much of their lives. Thank you for sharing!

A view weeks back Dany did a live show of her being sad because of death of a friend a year before. Maybe she suddenly missed that friend or maybe she didn't have time to grieve due to hectic the Warning tour schedule. But it was interesting to see how she chose to grieve by singing (so beautifully and soulfully) in front of her fans rather than just crying in private. She was secured enough to show her vulnerabilities. And I think as extrovert she prefers to get encouraging feedback from the audience.

Especially true at the larger venues of the past year. She also enjoys seeing her sisters enjoy the large crowds they have been playing to. She is also so sweet on her Dany day vlogs. Thank you for this video.
I totally agree with your assessment.
Dany is my musical hero. I have stated, more times than I can count, what it is that makes Dany so freaking great... She can sing while playing lead/lead-type material. As guitarist of over 45 years, I can tell you, unequivocally, that feat is near impossible. If you don't believe it, give it a try. After that, set out on a journey to find someone who can. You may find someone but, I assure you, they are every bit as rare as the singing drummer.
Then comes Dany's music. How delectable are her riffs! Her solos are the stuff dreams are made of, and come from some other dimension. I'm not talking about speed and intensity, although, I'm sure, if she wanted such, she'd practice and perfect that too, but her choice of notes and timing... Pure magic!
I love Dany. She is ROCK'N'ROLL!

    • @psychologyofrock
      @psychologyofrock  ปีที่แล้ว +8

As a fellow guitarist, I completely concur! I can't sing and play guitar at the same time unless the song is only chords AND they are not in a different rhythm than the vocal melody. She is amazing! Her riffs are what made me fall in love with the band. The first song I heard of theirs was Evolve - I was immediately hooked! :) Glad you enjoyed the video, John!

Nice analysis! All points suit Dany! When you mention that her caregiving type of character sometimes neglects their own needs, I instantly thought about When I‘m Alone… Dany wrote this deep song about not showing her inner struggles or hiding a hole in the soul… in the video you mention when Dany said she would have liked to be a reacher, Pau reacted that Dany would also be a good boss! Constructive leading without showing „the boss“… I would like to have a more caregiving boss… 😉 Dany is a perfect performer and gives so many good vibes to all the fans, she is indeed awesome! Thanks and greetings from Germany 👍⚡️🤘

Happy Dany Day, Nina😊🤘! Great assessment of the best frontwoman in music and I think you hit the nail on the head here. Dany has similarities to my favorite actor, Zachary Levi, cuz I think he's the most authentic actor in Hollywood and he is always kindhearted and trying to make people smile or laugh. Dany definitely exhibits all of those traits in abundance! She is by far the most authentic person I've ever seen in the music industry, along with her sister's, and you're absolutely right that it comes across onstage with the way she performs. Obviously, she has the Dany dance and I love the way she did that barefoot in the quarantine concert in the Cave lol. Also, I love the move she does at the beginning of Dust to Dust where she's "bouncing" I guess lol and points at Pau like "look at my sis go". I just recently started listening to Rush cuz my best friend gave me a list of songs to check out and I do agree with that comparison as well. The thing that makes Dany my favorite person in music is the kind of person she is, like Forrest Gump just a genuinely unselfish and kind person. Since I'm a Christian I try to be more like Jesus everyday but after Him I try to be more like Dany, so she's in great company lol. She is hilarious, kind, authentic, humble and just an all around beautiful human being! Have a great rest of your Dany Day, Nina!

Ok, according to TH-cam I'm 9 months late to this video but I'll offer my opinion on Dany and honestly the entire band. Dany herself always seems upbeat, happy and positive as you've said as well as she's incredibly supportive. There's a video of them playing the song Hunter live and Ale is singing lead...the smile Dany has on her face looking at Ale laying down the vocals is insanely awesome and heartwarming. She is someone you want to know to say the least. That said now my own opinions about the band as a whole, Dany, Pau and Ale...they are going to be role models for young girls everywhere, why? Look at how they are on and off the stage, unlike a lot of pop and rock women they don't dress smutty...actually in clothing they can go to the grocery store in, they gain the attention by playing extremely tight quality rock music. I think they can encourage this heavily.
I'm 47 and male, been a fan of bands like AC/DC, Motley Crue, Metallica, Whitesnake, Shania Twain, Martina McBride etc. and music in the last say 20 years has become cookie cutter overprocessed boring but I'll be the first to tell you The Warning has reinvigorated the love for music, why? It's fresh...the live stuff rivals studio recordings because they want to do better and they exude absolute class from the first note the final bow in live shows. Hell there's video on TH-cam where Ale falls down on her back and she's STILL playing the song until help arrives to get her back up on two feet, Dany can't do some vocals? Pau and Ale step in...these three sisters are one cohesive unit ot talent, humility and fun that I wish there was more of.
I'll admit, I bought three of their CDs from their official shop, XX1CB, QOTMS and Error and all get decent play time now cause the music is awesome, my fave track is When I'm Alone as my teenage self can relate to it and it's hard to resist waterworks when I hear it but it's so damn good and that's Dany's baby...she wrote it herself at 15....I'm sure the rest of the Warning Army has told the details on it.

Yup my favorite is Dany. People well deservedly talk about Pau and Ale a lot but I think Dany is the heart and passion of the band and she's super underrated. She multitasks a lot on stage but doesn't get enough credit for it. Like you I also love her guitar riffs. She is the best 😀

Agreed. I find myself really trying to dial in the tone she gets, her playing is really underrated. She’s not flashy, she does what the song needs. A Malcolm Young that likes to play lead, too. I find that fascinating.

Funny thing on the side, they do not talk about their love lives but I remember in one Q&A the question was ' Which one of you is the most likely to fall in love often?' Without a second's thought two fingers were pointing at Dany who could only laugh and grin apologetically saying, 'Tengo un gran corazon...' (I have a big heart). While you can see Pau sometimes in a flirtatious mood I can't really see her falling in love very often because she has such a controlling personality. Dany on the other hand... she just radiates good feelings everywhere she goes and is of course aware of the feelings she is receiving from the people around her, be it audience or sisters or people charmed by her personality and resonates on that. Super-nice analysis, thanks.

I had the plesure to meet them at a festival last year, as you said, in the stage she has a really good vibe and makes that people that dont know their music to stay focus in the perfermance, it was really cool that some of the people saw me sing all the songs and because Im from latam, thay ask me about the band, and at the end of the festival I ran into Pau and Dany, and then they called Ale so we can talk for about ten min, and yes as you said Pau was the most talkative and Dany spoke a little less but when she does talk to me she was really kind and even said some compliments about the fact some things we talk about, and Ale was really cool too, in fact when I go back to ask them for an autograph Pau and Dany were already gone and she called them to go back and sing me a little notbook I had, the three of them are just nice people amd even Rudy who took us a picture was really nice. So yes it makes total sence for me that type.

She really cares about others, but I also think she knows that she needs take the time for herself though does put others before herself. Perhaps you saw her Dany Day tribute to her lost friend 😢. Hi Nena! Thanks for another great video, they just keep getting better! I have been following you channel since the beginning and i love the unique way you make us see and understand all these different angles.
I agree with the ESFJ personality type and actually, everything else you've said in this video. I have met Daniela on several occasions in the past few months and she is an absolute joy to be around. She is a Class Act! Most people don't realize how hard it is to do everything she does and yet, she always comes through and makes everything seem so easy.
You were one of my inspiration to create a TH-cam channel entirely dedicated to the band The Warning and that would only contain live footage that i would film, edit and post myself. Since october 2022, i have followed the band in 4 countries and film 20 of their concerts. I had 1 subscriber then and This morning my channel hit 2,500 subscribers. Everyday i'm being asked why i do all that. Well, simply because to me, it makes sense and I truely believe that the Villarreal Vélez sisters are 100%, the real deal and are there to stay.
Thanks again Nena and looking forward to your next videos

The Warning are the best young band in music today. Their similarities to Rush, my all-time favorite band, are very evident. The talent, intelligence, and passion they exhibit are very much in the Rush vein. My nickname for Dany is The Rock Star. She's the life of the show, commanding the stage every night. She loves the crowd maybe more than the crowd loves her while she delivers on every song. The three different personalities of these young ladies mesh so well into the incredible unit they have become. They have a great support system guiding them and are benefitting greatly as get more and more established. Your assessment is quite accurate and like you, I'm glad she didn't become a teacher.

When she does Dany days for 1hr at a time she captivates the audience through her personality and facial expressions.
She is a joy to listen to and watch.
And yes she is the riff master.
My only criticism ( which contradicts you😆 ) is sometimes during that Z solo she is too animated and her guitar skills suffer.
