I shaved a 3 inch kiln dried maple slab 3 days ago to make a grinder stand base that didn't rock and wouldn't move. Dried lumber is a lot harder to saw than a green log for sure.
Can you describe how you mounted your laser on your sawmill? I have a LT40 that is 1 year old and I want to put a laser on it. From you video I cannot tell exactly how it is mounted. Did you make or buy your mount?
Wow! That is extremely hard lumber to cut. Too bad you couldn’t use the sawing lubricant. Enjoyed the video. 👍
Yes hickory is a tough wood to cut. I was sawing a thick slab that was dry throughout.
Hickory is the hardest wood I’ve milled. That was a challenge. Enjoyed the video.
Thanks for watching. It was a challenge for sure!

Yes I could imagine dry maple would be pretty tuff. I was surprised to make 48 feet of cut with the same dull blade
Pretty low board feet per hour production rate 🤣 Good job!
Thanks for watching! Happy new year!

Yes I built a bracket. I tapped a 1/4 inch hole in the angle iron on the mast. Cut a bolt super short.
@@hillsidemill Thank you. That looks like a more stable spot with less vibration.
