I mean...its just an art style and gameplay change. As long as it keeps the story and feel of the first 2 games then I'm fine and it looks like thats the case, if its the coop thing your worried about, you can play solo as well

I personally think Trey and Stone are fans of RPG and have taken progression. The turn based system with SOT and then strategy elements in FBH. I just think this action adventure was the next step. Besides, I know the guys made a 3D game for the 64, and they hated it. Maybe this is redemption

I just feel like every South Park game doesn't need to be a 2D rpg. I feel like the only reason most people seem to be against Snow Day so much is because they disliked the older 3D South Park games. Those games barely had Matt & Trey involved in them. At least with this game, they're involved in it. They should do both in my opinion. Have 2D games come out and have 3D games come out every now and then.

Bet if it was another 2D rpg, they'd be eating this game up. I'm probably alone in this, but I would rather play a 3D open world South Park game than some 2D turned based rpg one. Rpg games always looked boring to me. I don't get the appeal to them.

The Simpsons Hit & Run is an iconic game even though the characters don't look too well in 3D. Spongebob Squarepants: Battle For Bikini Bottom is another game a lot of people love even though the characters in that don't look all that great either. South Park does a few games in a 2D artstyle and now people feel like no other game from this point on should be 3D.
As long as it has the easter eggs and call back jokes like the first two games had, its a win. The other 2 felt like playing an episode of South Park and I'm hoping this feels the same.
They could make the new game like Tales From the Borderlands and I’d still buy/play it. I just beat SOT and FBH for at least the 10th time, each time

LOVED the first two games. Pre-ordered both and beat them on PlayStation and Switch. I have nothing against them wanting to switch it up and try different concepts. Not a fan of the 3D art style, but that's not what's pushing me away from this game. I hate MMOs... I love a good story based single player game.

The game looks terrible but I don't understand how you would say it's them selling out. They literally got like a 700 million dollar contract from Paramount Plus. If anything that would have been selling on! The two guys are worth almost a combined billion dollars. Two of them are both in the top five for the richest comedians on the planet.
I imagine two games for this series then they go back to the 2d tv art style but i am excited for this game. I just like south park games period and this one reminds me of the one on 64

Yeah but the N64 game sucked It was just a rebranded Chinese game. They just added South Park OP over different assets from another game. It was just reskinned and there was no writing involved at all from the creators of South Park just the license it out the IP.
I just wanted a tegridy farms south park game. Im undecided on this game, if theres no story line to it and its just attacking different bases then I’m gonna have to pass. At first i thought it was gonna be a battle royale which reminded me of split screen on N64

Its a $30 game
Die hard South Park fan here. Been in the SP community for over 15 years, have every season on DVD & bought Stick of Truth's/Fractured But Whole's collector's editions day 1.
There's this post on r/southpark that dives into what the game probably is.
Basically, there's still a lot of RPG aspects, such as status effects & a weapon system. And it's being developed at the actual show's studios (so there's absolutely a significant story, knowing how Matt & Trey are).
There's also some shots where you can see a huge chunk of the town, so it's almost definitely a open world map.
It seems to basically just be a 3D Stick of Truth with a co-op option, which sounds amazing to me.

u think the first two were great but as an mmo player i am excited to play this one aswell and i dont think its a cop out or anything aslong as it is a quality game with south park humor i am all for it

@@LetsTalkNerdyPodcast If you are the person on the right in the video, I believe you but the one on the left was being a negative Nancy before even knowing what the game is fully about. What I've learned in my 30+ years of gaming. If you go into a game expecting to hate it, you won't have an open mind to try and fully enjoy it without having some bias against it already. I've made this mistake plenty of times and one great example is Breath of the Wild. I hated that game for the 1st year because they changed Zelda too much, second year I gave it a fair shot and ended up sinking over 300 hours into it all DLC. My point is, just because something is different it shouldn't be counted out.
Personally, as a South Park fan, I am WAY DISAPPOINTED! I LOVED the first 2 games & waited for the 3rd one to be the same 2d non P.C. South Park crazy humor game. Dave I FULLY AGREE with your opinion!! The first 2 games are timeless and you can buy them or replay them any time throughout the years without thinking "this has not graphically aged well", have genuine non P.C. South Park humor and picked the South Park as a game franchise up from the dead (lets face it before the Stick Of Truth, any attempt was a failure). This feels like a remake of the N64 game to me. Definitely wont buy it. Unless South Park releases another game like the previews 2 or something really nice as an rpg, for me as well, is the end of the franchise. The end of UBISOFT development was not a good idea....

This game is said to be an episode that will be expanded on - So I think as a long time South Park fan who use to download small episode dialog clips from Limewire using Dial Up internet as a kid, this game going to be a fun change of pace from the other games. And sure South Park 64 wasn't the greatest but I still enjoyed it for being South Park. I think this game has a lot of potential and I'm excited to see how it will turn out over time.
So true dude! Matt did say they have DLC plans that will correlate with the show which was really cool to hear! We were still hoping that we would get the third installment of the series as it was. I love all things southpark...as long as matt and trey are involved I think it's going to be great... Especially now that I'll be laughing with friends which I think will truly enhance the experience

The 2 you’re referring to are not the “original” South Park games. They had South Park games before those 2. They are the “original” new kid games from South Park I guess you could say. As a South Park fan I’m going to play the game because I’ve been watching South Park since it came out and played every game they’ve ever made. I still have South Park Tenorman’s Revenge on my Xbox 360. I recently played South Park and South Park Rally on my PS1.

Honestly like to have this game if it will have local multiplayer. It would be fun to play with friends jf they come over. Loved the driving South Park game where you could throw cows and stuff. This one could be fun as well. I liked the other to rpg games as well. But honestly midway the second one it felt kinda boring. So I think a third won’t necessarily be better. Might get stale

Each game is different devs first stick of truth was obsidian which were great at rpgs then it was Ubisoft and 2 was lesser than 1 now this is thq games thq specialty isnt rpg and mechanics its action platforming thats why we’re not getting an rpg cause current rpg devs won’t go as far as South Park especially Ubisoft and obsidian at least in writing for obsidian

I felt the same but just saw it’s £21.99 on Amazon, and I was like, can’t go wrong with that price. Also after investing so much into the last 2, this is the 3rd instalment of the new kid saga, as much as we might not like it, and prefer a turn based RPG, it’s what we got, so feel like I have to play it in honour of the last 2. As I said for £21.99 can’t go wrong. Don’t get me wrong I’m very disappointed it’s changed genre so drastically but I’ll give it a go…. For that price anyway.

I f’n love South Park and have never been disappointed in what Stone and Parker have done with it. It’s always been true to what South Park is. I’m looking forward to the game with great anticipation. It’s a South Park style evolution of the game franchise. 1st game was like D&D without miniatures or any other turn based rpg on early Nintendo. 2nd game was super hero D&D with miniatures or video games like Final Fantasy Tactics. This one looks like it’s taking the leap to the online/mobile games.

I respect ur opinion, but i think u are going to be pleasantly surpised with the outcome of this game. Being a fan of dungeon crawlers that involve multiple roles, i am truly excited to see what they offer in a game like this. Let them go off the beaten path a little bit. They have been locked into RPGs and phone games for the past decade, and prior to that we had the tenorman game and N64 games (including love shack). I admire the fact that they are stepping outside of the box and trying something different. I suggest that u try to keep more an open mind and maybe u womt hate it as much, even though u already said that u def were not guna play it... but u know u will 😁

Speak for yourself on this is not the game true south park fans wanted, dont speak for me, cause im a fan since the very first episode of south park before it was ever on tv, and i cant wait to play this game, the other games got too bland, and i was hoping for a game to recreate the actual first south park game on n64 and this is doing that. Love it. First time listner and dude in red is annoying and cringe, dude with glasses seems to be more open minded and a lot cooler to hang around

Haha I literally posted a similar comment as you, I've been a South Park fan since forever as well, I use to watch Celebrity Death Match as my favorite show til I watched South Park season 1. Eventually I got in trouble for wearing a Mr. Hankey shirt to school because some asshole kid told the teacher it was shit on my shirt. I had to turn it inside out... I still have that shirt til this day.
