    Thanks you so much for your excellent explanation! I've been wanting to learn to sew for over 10 years. Now with your help I've drafted my very first basic skirt block and a-line skirt patterns. So excited to finally make something! Sending you my best wishes!!

    You are discipline. A thorough tutor you are with a touch of simpliplicity. You've got a fan here already. It makes to me that what determines the wideness of the skirt at the length is the width of the dart at the top. Thank you for the tutorial. 🎉❤ However, I didn't see the part covering the waist band. That's a tricky one actually. I hope you do a tutorial on that too. Best wishes

    I always find it very very difficult to understand and draft.....partterns.
    But This is the most simplest form of illustration have found. Many thanks to you. Your school is simple for me.

    Thanks soo much. This is a life saver🥰🥰🥰. But just one question 🙏Please are the dart measurements same for both front and back?
    Because after closing the dart , you got two different measurements at the bottom🙏

    • @Sewmate21
      @Sewmate21  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes but the front darts are shorter than the back ones. Thanks for watching Yvonne.

    What I'm not understanding from all these tutorials on A-Line skirts is that once you create the dart, it makes the waist smaller. How can we account for this and ensure our waist measurement is correct? Do we just add the half dart measurement to the outside?

    • @Sewmate21
      @Sewmate21  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you took your measurements correctly for the basic skirt pattern you shouldn't have any problems with the waist fitting because the fat has it's own value which is added to your waist measurement.

    Great video, thank you so much!!!one question though, why did you extend the side seam by 2.5 cm in the back pattern?

    • @Sewmate21
      @Sewmate21  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It just makes the skirt look more balanced, I added this amount to both the front and back skirt patterns.

    Thank you for making sewing easy. Well demonstrated. I sure will make one. One question. Since the dart is closed, are there going to be any dart in the skirt?

    • @Sewmate21
      @Sewmate21  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching Amicus but there won't be any darts in this pattern anymore.

    Why don't we mark seam allowances on the sides of the front peice and on the one side of the back peice?

    • @Sewmate21
      @Sewmate21  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seam allowances are already included from the basic skirt used in making the a line skirt so for me I use notches to mark the seam allowances
