    Happy new year DinosDragons! I am wishing us sauropod lovers a year 3!
    It’s really refreshing and nice to see that we have an actual brachiosaurus on the market, and from HAOLONGGOOD which is even better. I will be picking up green first then will try to get the brown when the time comes, I really like the addition of dorsal spikes protruding down the neck into nothing which is a plausible yet appealing look for macronarians! I have yet to pick up the mamenchisaurus, argentinosaurus and alamosaurus as well so this should be interesting.
    Nonetheless I am glad you are back doing reviews it is always fun watching and observing the details and accuracies/in accuracies of a certain model and animal. PNSO has been lacking off lately but should hopefully return after the Chinese new year. I am really hoping we get a ceratosaurus or utahraptor from them! That or an updated carnotaurus could work.. great review!

    What I love about sauropods is that although they look gentle, and peaceful they can easily kill without trying. Several fossilized footprints of these creatures have creatures that got stuck in them. I’m sure when they fought other dinosaurs nearby had to be very well clear of them. The tail would probably whip something in half. The poop piles could fall upon an unfortunate mammal and incase them in it. If they fell they crush whatever they landed upon. You just needed to steer clear of them period.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Exactly! Imagine causing all that damage without even realising it by simply just existing! In addition to the scenarios you describe, there are also reports of death traps caused by animals falling into sauropod footprints, possible by hunger or from drowning from water that got trapped in them. I sometimes have juvenile images of some predator trying to kill a sauropod minding its own business, and the sauropod killing the theropod by simply pancaking him!

    First of all, I wish you a happy and prosperous New Year. May you be happy and healthy, and may all your dreams come true, my dear sir. Secondly, I hope you continue to acquire more and more figures.
    Among the two color variants, I find myself in love with the blue version. If I ever have the opportunity to buy one, I will choose the blue variant because it surprisingly looks more natural than the green version. Thank you so much for this amazing review, my dear sir. You are the best! 🖤🖤

      I think that for most people, if they had to choose one, the blue one would be the one to go for. There is just so much going on in this that makes it an immediate spotlight in anyone's collection. I think every collection could do with one dazzler, and this one can be it!

    Wishing you a happy and prosperous New Year - and may it bring us all the other sauropods we would like from HLG! What a year to look back on! Like you, I would love to see HLG tackle some of the smaller members of the group. As for Brachiosaurus, I settled on the blue - but the green is also for me a highly attractive scheme.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you very much! And I am very confident that you will absolutely love the blue. 🤩This really is something out of the world. The green is very nice, but while it is special, the blue takes it up another level. I don't know how large your collection is, but the blue will certainly be one highlight of it. It's just incredibly eye-catching.
      Just be careful handling it though. There is something about the touch that makes me believe if I rub it wrong, or brush it against the other dinos when I am placing it on a shelf, that the paint is going to scuff badly. My Alamosaurus already has scuff marks.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      It has shifted to 1:35, because at this larger scale I can see more detail, more colour complexities can be added, and even smaller dinosaurs now have a higher chance of being made and still ensure their quality!

    Once I have this, my quest to obtain all of my favourite sauropods in 1:35 scale will be complete: Amargasaurus, Apatosaurus, Argentinosaurus, Brachiosaurus, Camarasaurus, Diplodocus (hopefully HLG tackle this in the future!) and Mamenchisaurus. Infinitely grateful to Haolonggood for this!

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Exactly! All I need is a Diplodocus from them, and I think I can say that all essential sauropods are complete! I owe them many thanks indeed for my 1:35 collection. Of course, if I were being greedy, I'd still like a Bajadasaurus, Shunosaurus, Brachytrachelopan and Barosaurus 🤣🤣

  • @11Legorex
    @11Legorex วันที่ผ่านมา +5

    The Brachiosaurus was the hardest one to decide on color wise. Ultimately I went with blue since I don't have any real blue sauropods but every color looks great. I ordered through eBay instead of Amazon this time though and I think they got the address wrong. I think it'll deliver next door so hopefully all goes smoothly😅

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      I hate when that happens! If you're on good terms with and trust your neighbours, you might want to give them a heads up. I've had shipping mess up a few times, losing some HLG models along the way, but so far no PNSOs yet. EBay is a bit of a hit and miss, so I always check reviews first. I hope yours arrives; you are going to love it! The blue is something special altogether. There are aspects of it that cannot be captured on video and can only be appreciated in person.
      And yes, this was the hardest one to decide on. When that sneak preview with all three variants shown from dorsal view dropped, I was in a very very difficult position... they all look great! At least with the other large sauropods, it was easier to quickly eliminate one. Good luck with it, but I am sure that you will not regret the blue! 😁

    You took the words right out of my mouth! I absolutely would love to see HLGs take on the Giraffatitan, Barosaurus and Diplodocus!! I also would like to see them take on pretty well known but underrepresented species like Shunosaurus, Cetiosaurus or Haplocanthosaurus and, selfishly, Brontosaurus (I know this one isn't underrepresented but I've been team Bronto ever since that dinosaur dragged me waaay into the past all those years ago! You have no idea how happy I was that it was rescued from taxonomic purgatory). If I had to move away from sauropods, I'd really like to see a Shantungosaurus, Camptosaurus or Ornithomimus. You never see these represented, except maybe in a mattel JP or JW line. Lets throw in a Dryosaurus for good measure.
    As for the model itself, I have to admit, the rhamphotheca with the teeth sticking out is a bit off-putting, makes the head sculpt look a bit goofy. I thought it was a bit much on the Argentinasaurus too, though it looks like they did a much better job of it on the Camarasaurus. Too bad they didn't go that route. That one criticism aside, it won't stop me from picking up this beautiful rendition of Brachiosaurus; I'll probably go with the blue one as it reminds me of the first dinosaur book I remember owning. Hey, I just might pick all three! And Happy New Year to you as well, look forward to what you have in store this year!

      I believe that it would be good to have at least _one_ blue variant from HLG! If you have a large sauropod in blue, green and brown, you'll have the three main hues favoured by HLG!

    Hey dinodragons! I have a little question for you, I've been thinking about expanding my dinosaur model collection, thinking about getting some new pnso or hlg, do you have any suggestions for me? By the way, right now currently, I own 9 pnso models (Cameron rex, Lucas Giga, Aiman Spino, Olorotitan, Carnotaurus, Yutyrannus, Gorgo, Alberto, Carchar), and about to purchase the Meraxes, buy I'm still pretty hesitant about pulling the trigger on a hlg model for some reason, but this Brachiosaurus kinda grabs my attention (also the hlg Alamosaurus as well). Coming from somebody with a collection as large as you, do you have think that this Brachiosaurus model is worth it or should I buy the Alamosaurus instead?
    As always great review on this wonderful model, thank you for putting out amazing and quality content like this every time a new model drops!
    Edit: As much as I love this model, I honestly think I can't afford to pull the trigger on it, it's kinda too damn expensive for my liking lol, what are your thoughts about the price of these figures? Do you think it's worth it?

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  22 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +2

      @IDontKnowAGoofyName
      Wow that is a huge question to answer without knowing more!
      Expanding your collection is always exciting, and it really depends on how you want to curate it. You already have a solid lineup of PNSO theropods, but only one herbivore. So it helps to think how you want to group your collection going forward.
      Here are a few angles to consider:
      • By *Diet* - Do you want a more balanced mix of herbivores and carnivores, or do you prefer focusing on one over the other? If you’re looking to diversify, adding a large sauropod like Brachiosaurus or Alamosaurus would be a great move.
      • By *Clade* - You’ve got a strong lineup of theropods, mostly carcharodontosaurids and tyrannosaurids. Do you want to complete the clade by getting Meraxes? Or do you see yourself wanting more balance by getting a few other herbivorous clades, such as ceratopsians, hadrosaurids, or ankylosaurs?
      • By *Time Period* - Many of your current models are from the Late Cretaceous. If you like keeping things in a specific time frame, Alamosaurus fits well, while Brachiosaurus takes you back to the Jurassic.
      • *By Formation* - Some collectors like to group by location, e.g., Morrison Formation dinosaurs (Brachiosaurus, Allosaurus, Stegosaurus), or South American species (Meraxes, Giganotosaurus, Alamosaurus).
      Meraxes is a beautifully painted figure. But one thing about companies, especially PNSO, is that past the first few runs, you might get deterioration of paint apps. If you like Meraxes for what you’ve seen in video reviews, and if money is tight, you might want to get that first in case of paint application deterioration.
      HLG Brachiosaurus on the other hand is also pretty new, but it’s hard to know if they will have another run. I heard that the Alamosaurus is sold out in different places. I don’t know if Brachiosaurus will have another release after this run.
      Also, how much space do you have?
      If you intend to be more wide in your collecting, you might consider getting the Brachiosaurus. This is such an iconic dinosaur that it will probably be the showpiece of your collection for a while to come. You can then aim for Meraxes to flesh out the carcharodontosaurids. Even after that, you might consider getting on ceratopsian and one ankylosaur, since you already have a hadrosaur.
      Good luck!

      The price of the Brachiosaurus for me is USD94.99 + shipping, and I was hoping it to be around the 70~80 dollars price range, but guess I'm underestimating this behemoth.

      @IDontKnowAGoofyName 15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      @DinosDragons
      Thanks for the suggestions. Currently, I'm trying to expand the herbivore collection after I finish the Carcharodontosaurids (my overall favorite group of dinosaurs). And after that, I think that I wanna get some Sauropods (Brachiosaurus, Alamosaurus, Mamenchisaurus etc.), Ceratopsians or some Ankylosaurs (Borealopelta, Sauropelta, Zuul etc.), but from what I've seen, PNSO's Sauropods aren't usually in the 1:35 scale, which is something that I kind of care about, while HLG's are usually in that specific scale, so I'm leaning towards HLG for Sauropods. While for the Ankylosaurs, PNSO has a pretty wide variety to choose from, so I'd choose them over the HLG.
      But yeah, overall I feel like getting more herbivorous dinosaurs because my current collection is overwhelmed by theropods and thanks to you, now I have an overall idea of what I should consider and what I could buy.
      Thanks dinosdragons, and I'll be looking forward to your new reviews in the future. (Thinking back on it, I started my PNSO collecting journey because of you when your Domingo Carnotaurus video dropped!)
      Edit: By the way, is PNSO's Sede the Ankylosaurs in 1:35 scale? I've been keeping an eye out on that figure for a while, never pulled the trigger though...

    First happy Chinese New Year to you. May it bring many snakes. Someone told me that in Chinese culture snakes are sometimes considered a small dragon and a dragon is a dinosaur as well.
    I had not seen these fleshed out reconstructions of Brachiosaurus and Giraffatitan. I know the skeletals by Scott Hartman, but these fleshed out drawings are really illustrative.
    It was a very difficult decision which Brachiosaurus paint variant to get. All of them feel a bit too nervous for my taste. It is not the colors but the patterns. The blue looks like a batik shirt and the green has too stark contrast although in your video it looks much better than in any pictures I have seen before. I ended up with ordering the brown-orange one and hope that this will look more subdued and less flashy in hand.
    If I am in the end not happy with the look, I will send this for repaint in the style of the PNSO Brachiosaurus that was teased at some point but never made. In any case, there needs to be some touchup work on the head done, like filling these grooves between the beak and the soft tissue and smoothing out some of the grooves of the beak.
    When it comes to forthcoming Haolonggood releases from what we have seen so far we can probably expect another large titanosaur, maybe Patagotitan or Dreadnoughtus. Then there is some smaller sauropod and some people speculated this could be a Euhelopus. But really in addition to a Diplodocus or Barosaurus we all hope for I would like to see some earlier eusauropods like Shunosaurus, Barapasaurus, Cetiosaurus or Omeisaurus.

    • @DinosDragons
      @DinosDragons  6 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      Thank you Thomas! Yes indeed snakes are often called "little dragons" 😁 Reminds me I better get to some dragons... HLG and previously PNSO kept me really busy!
      I found it hard to choose this one. You remember that release image with three colour variants from the top? I liked them all. I am really pleased with the green one though I was afraid it looked too stark from some early photos, and I can say that it definitely looks very natural. This is the one that I actually have on the shelf next to the HLG Alamosaurus.
      You're right, the blue is a little like batik and that is an aesthetic that many people actually don't like. The brown and yellow one is a little bright for my tastes, but you know, one thing I can be sure of with HLG is that whichever variant you get, it will eventually grow on you. HLG just does their paint applications so well, similar to what we used to get for highly priced resin statues in the past. Just be careful when handling it. There is a kind of feel to the paint that makes me extra careful to avoid scuffing or other damage. You should your own video review of the brown Brachiosaurus 🤣
      I don't know how credible that poster is but a 'smaller' macronarian would certainly be welcome. I think Patagotitan would be too similar to Argentinosaurus and many people are recovering from the financial damage that it would probably be unwise to release it anytime soon. I'd welcome a different bauplan for the next sauropod. And I had completely forgotten *Cetiosaurus*! Which is sad since this was such a 'common' featured sauropod as a kid. Seems like titanosaurs have taken over the public imagination and that's what the focus is on these days!
      I would welcome some extant animals if HLG were to do it. I love my CollectAs, but I believe that HLG would do them better justic paint wise!
