- Saw this new solo cam bow come out and had to get my hands on it. It tunes with ease and is so graceful to shoot.
I shoot the bow split finger with no sights .
Love when we do things not in the "conventional way" and prove that methods are relative yet Principles are what matters. Thanks
Thank you
🐿️🐿️🐿️ very relaxing video to watch…looking forward to those squirrel slocks 🐿️🐿️🐿️
I am so glad I found your channel yesterday. I have shot a compound without sights and fingers for years and I was starting to think I was the only one left. Awesome channel
Thanks , appreciate it
Bear has always made great bows! And the Adapt is definitely one of the good ones!
Also glad yo see a new video!
Man I like those solo cams , so far so good
@@TRIBEDRAKE I haven't shot a solo cam in YEARS!
AMAZING how easy it is to time them! 😂😂
Glad to see you back brother. Enjoy your new bow. I cant wait for deer season.
Thanks buddy me to
Enjoy your content and like the others I'm glad you're back.
Thanks man
Glad your back , ol 'Verns looking sharp lol !!!
Lol thanks buddy
Good video, I like it, thank you for posting it. I also shoot and hunt with a pulley and with fingers, without a scope. My bow is a PSE Stinger at 50 pounds and also monocam, my arrows are Golp Tip Pro Hunter 400. I love shooting instinct (traditional), but with a pulley bow, there are few of us. I have subscribed to your channel. Thank you
Thanks
I finally got me a Mathews NoCam HTR for barebow with fingers. Shoots like a dream.
Oh yea
A lot of protein landed in the freezer with my old no cam too
I’m getting ready to get a compound bow soon so I can get ready for bow season, The thing is I really don’t like shooting with a trigger. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to shoot a compound with my fingers but I just haven’t been able too. This video is definitely a big help!
@@codyschuppert4984 thanks
Brother, I was wandering if everything was OK, I've not seen a video in a while. Enjoyed the video like all of yours, God bless
Been busy doing a little bit of everything
🙏
Aloha ! Man I really enjoy your videos about archery. I’m getting back into it after many years. I shoot left handed and I bought a Mathews Creed XS. I’d love to have a Oneida Phoenix. I’ve already built my custom on their website lol. Im going to hunt boar, goat, and axis deer when I’m ready. I grew up in West Virginia and hunting was done in the fall and winter so I’ll have to get used to the heat here in Hawaii. Keep up the good work man. I like that you jam the guitar. I play too! I have a Fender American Original 50’s Strat and a Martin 000-17 acoustic. Looking forward to your next video 🤙🏻🤟🏻
Thanks a lot man , good luck on your hunts
One cam bow, easy shooting there's a lot of that office available no cam tuning super easy to tune, raise your knock up or down that's that's all I have one cams
Man smoke a deer with that bow. I been thinking of setting a compound up that way.
I have it for sale right now, I used to shoot a Ross bow and Mathews no cam the same way,
So cool, it does look kinda funky but no biggie there. I think those Hunting Public kids use the adapt. I am literally still working through one Tribe Drake inspired rabbit hole and now you have me seriously eyeing up another. I always wanted to buy a bow from the local shop here in Savannah and I think he has those. I have an alligator tag that is distracting me big time, opens same day as small game in GA gonna use the phoenix on that one. Make a string sometime for your Adapt... and video it. Rock on dude.
Make a video on cutting a whisker biscuit in half, and setting it up on a Phoenix Oneida bow
I tried shooting fingers last winter on target. Did it for several weeks. Went back to a release. Too close to deer season for me to try again but I do have two bows. The bow I shot last winter is a 2012 Martin Silencer and since I rebuilt a 2012 Onza 3. The silencer has a NAP Apache rest and I’m thinking of ways to modify that rest to benefit fingers? Maybe a couple zip ties on each side?
One thing that I don’t understand is why your nock point is set so high? Even when I was finger shooting my silencer last winter I didn’t change my level nocking point. I really like this video.
Shoot a bare and adjust the nocking point till it flys almost perfect , solo cam generates more down force launching the arrow, i just do what it takes to get the best flight possible even if it looks stupid .
Sweet bow
Great shooter it is
I watched this video 10 times. I have always been a traditional bowhunter but now at 56 my shoulders are burnt out and I am currently shooting 42# recurve. I am going to reproduce your setup. The difference is I am going to try to use arrows already on hand. 350 black eagle instinct with feathers. Not sure how they will fly with a biscuit. Any thoughts I would welcome!
I shot a lot of traditional as well, tune it just like a stick bow, I generally like keeping my same arrow setup, maybe add point weight if necessary or adjust draw weight to accommodate arrow flight, no problems with the biscuit.
Messed around with NAP CR Flipper, Whiskers and nothing shot well with any arrows I had and I have a lot. Finally got a QAD Hunter and success. Found I need to only use two fingers and close one eye shooting split horizon. Thanks. 51# perfect.
I shot a buck at 10ft with my crossbow with 125 qda broadhead big hole just a triangle . The blades are easy to sharpen on fine flat stone .
Ya buddy, that makes sharpening easy , can get real sharp lightly polishing the blades that way
Please, I have a question. From where do you measure the length of the arc, from the ends of the wheel and pulley or from the axles? Which of the two measurements is the most correct or appropriate for pulling with the fingers? According to your experience. Thank you.
Berger hole where you screw on your arrow rest, 3/8”-1/2” high nocking point, somewhere in there will be the sweet spot
I think that you have not understand me. I mean the length of the arc. Is it measured from axle to axle of the pulleys or the ends of the pulleys? Thanks again.
@@manuelgonzalezzambrano1989it’s from axel to axel
I've been interested in shooting fingers with a compound lately.
I've killed some deer with a longbow but just want a little more power.
Do you normally need a stiffer arrow like that shooting fingers?
If im not badly mistaken 340 should be stiff with 50#.
But I dont know for sure.
All depends in the energy deliverance of the bow to the arrow, smooth minimal cam roll over or hard cam roll over , also poundage of course plays a role and what length you want your arrows. If I cut my 340s down from full length then they are gunna end up being to stiff unless I add weight to the front.
Lots of variables,
@TRIBEDRAKE yes I understand I didn't realize they were full length
Glad you are back brotha 🤙🏻 did you say you’re shooting 340’s at 51#? Seems over spined but they were flying true
It’s just a number, always use what works ,
I was wondering if you still had this bow, or did you get a chance to hunt with it at all? I am seriously thinking of getting one soon. I will be shooting fingers as well, and I was wondering if you still recommend it?
Good shooting bow, I recommend it but I sold the one I had and got my old Mathews no cam htr back out, that’s all I used to shoot and my all time favorite. The bear adapt however did feel great shooting and was accurate.
@TRIBEDRAKE I appreciate the info thank you.
@TRIBEDRAKE I was shooting a matthews conquest 4 for a long time, but I got kind of tired of it, and I sold it it was really finicky i'm just looking for a new bow. That's good for fingers now
So I went ahead and got this bow. And I shoot 3 fingers under. I have a full length. Gold tip 340 125 grain point shooting at 60 pounds, 29 inch. Draw, and no matter what I do, I am getting extreme nock. High any suggestions?
Arrow could be bouncing off the rest, causing nock high, but I don’t know what kind of arrow rest you’re using or what your nock height is, and make sure with those skinny strings you run a nocking point below your nock as well so the arrow will not shift on the string when you shoot.
How does shooting 3 fingers under work with your set-up? I’m thinking about trying it this year.
Works good, higher knocking point
@@TRIBEDRAKE
Thanks brother
Brother what is the length and spine of the arrow the bare shaft?
Goldtip 340 full length. 125 grain points
Are you moving away from the Oneida or just trying something new?
I will keep my Oneidas , used to shoot solo cams a long time ago , had to try this one , shoots awesome
I think it is the last single cam on the market.
Do you think you could comfortably shoot the Bear Adapt 3 under with a 30” draw?
Yes, have done it with different Bow brands in the past
@@TRIBEDRAKE I’m guessing, based on your subsequent videos, that you still prefer the Oneida over any other solo cam bow, correct? Trying to move away from traditional due to physical limitations, but still want to shoot fingers and no sights. Thinking about getting one, but a little intimidated being I have no dealer close by and they’re a little pricey. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@@Dave-mi9rb oneida Phoenix hands down
They are so easy to work on and forgiving to the finger or release shooter
They stay in time easy and are so accurate
You wouldn’t be disappointed
Heck yea
You shoot the Oneida or solo cams the best?
Oneidas are the easiest bows to tune
I generally can shoot anything pretty equally across the board
Trying to decide between another Oneida or a compound. I can’t have just one bow lol
