Just put a QAD w/o the top bar....I found my anchor where the top of the forks is 30 yards. Look through the string and center the "goal post" and my groups are amazing. Barebow compound is fun fun....👍

I ve got my first compound bow for a few weeks. as an instinctive recurve shooters for many years, I ve struggled to instinctively shoot the compound without sight and trigger and hit the bull's eyes. I have tried to adjust the whisker biscuit, and it doesn't help very much. I sometimes wonder if it's not built for instinctive shooting 😅but it's very helping watching the video. Thanks for the tips and demonstration.
I met a man at the range a while back that has hunted compound barebow for over 40 years. He even uses a simple plastic flipper rest. I was so shocked at how accurate he was that I bought a compound (Diamond Edge SB-1) and got to it. Stupid fun for not a ton o dough.

@@theamputeehunter2074 never derailed any bow before, I’ve shot a triax and real short compounds and never derailed anything, that’s only cause by torquing the riser and twisting the string with ur fingers. Lots of people think u can’t shoot and modern compound with fingers and it’s because they don’t know any better, only were taught sights and releases. I won’t have a problem Don’t shoot a lot of weight, make it comfortable and u will be accurate
It is so reassuring to hear from you about ignoring others about finger pinch and general use about using compound bow with fingers. I had my Mathew’s outback cam changed (Release I’m 28”, Fingers “29.5”) so I can shoot fingers and the store guys were hard pressing against me using my bow with glove. “It’s a short bow you will face a lot of pinch, and the string arc doesn’t work with fingers” ,“Your finger will apply torque and make you inaccurate, compound bows aren’t made for fingers” etc I know I will get good with enough practice. At close range I’m hitting center, but do need to learn better about where my fingers apply pressure. Thanks for the advice on where to apply that pressure by following my bow’s string instead of forcing it straight
I just got another nocam, you can shoot fingers with any bow. Some people just don’t want to go the extra mile to achieve perfection without all the gadgets.
@@TRIBEDRAKE How often have you had to change the cables on your pheonix? I changed mine about 2 months ago and probably have over 500 hundred arrows shot. I think the Oneida manual says 1000.
@@jaredlong4157 just watch them, always use the factories for warranty issues, if a small cable frays or breaks I just cut it back and keep shooting, there is a core in the factory power cables and they are strong, just shoot em till you feel you need to change em
@@TRIBEDRAKE thanks, just bought a bear resurgence ld to also shoot with fingers. Put a wisker bisket cutdown on it, having a hard time getting the nock high out of it.
@@jaredlong4157 may need to need move nocking point a bit higher, could be bouncing off the rest, make sure u have a nock point under your nock so the arrow doesn’t move during the shot, arrow could also be to weak, back off the poundage a little and shoot a bare shaft.
Man your videos are bomb!!! I shoot the same way you do, just not quit as good. I have a question for you tho, at 5:12 in your video you mention lining up your arrow with string blur. When you are looking at your target, are you looking on the inside part of the string closer to the riser? Or are you just getting close to the string but still on the outside closer to your knuckles? If this doesn’t make sense let me know.
String is to the right of the arrow towards the riser if ur right handed. I dont really pay attention to it anymore. But when ur left and right suffers then it helps to start referencing that. I shoot the oneida Phoenix now, Thanks!!

Same as shooting a release, don’t torque the bow with your bow hand and pull through your shot with your fingers. Don’t let anyone tell you it can’t be done

I feel so much comfortable shooting without a release aid but everything I hear is that I'm going to de-rail my bow and I should not be doing it, how much true there is on that and how do I know if my bow is one of those able to shoot without release aid (i bought a pre-owned one).
If u are cozy with shooting fingers dont worry about everyone talking about derailing the string, I've shot every kind of bow with fingers and never derailed a single one, find your own style and do it no matter what anyone says, mostly release shooters will tell you that you cant shoot fingers with a modern compound. If u are not dead set on your bowtech, check out the oneida Phoenix, I have a couple videos loaded of my new Phoenixs, they are awesome bows.
Depends on Arrow rest and how your release is, feathers are the most forgiving accurate fletching available, vanes can be hit and miss, just depends on your setup, i shoot vanes more because they work for my setup, easy and cheap..

I have a triax,and just started to shoot split fingers.My arrows dont always stay at the bottom of my quad rest,when I cant my bow it slides up slightly,what am I doing wrong? is the triax to short to shoot fingers?
Not at all, also u can watch dan and guy fitzgerald, u will probably have to self learn to contour your fingers to the angle of the string, the pressure should be equal on your first and middle finger, let your 3rd finger hold less pressure staying somewhat in front of or above your middle finger, learn to relax the hand and maybe run your nocking point a little nck high, 3/16 to 1/4 Hope this helps

I'd do nocking point on top and bottom, if you have the option you can try a hostage fixed rest or trophy taker pronghorn and radius the launcher like I do, works great, I think with starting out u could try a hostage rest and learn your bow thru tuning and shooting split vision/ gap shooting , great way to learn your bow. You could also look up Jimmy Blackmon, he has some good vids also
Yes it will work just fine except I don't like it cause I shoot split vision so I like to see everything in my periferial vision and the biscuit just blocks everything
we cut down part of a biscuit to open up the sight picture for shooting split vision. it can be done by those skilled in the art of red-neckery... i like a centerrest, i think it is a nap
I know I have a big nose lol I've heard of people having this but I have never had my nose hit by the string, never a problem. Been doing this for years.
I split vision shoot, shouldn’t even have to explain because everyone knows by now but my sight picture is the main focus on what I want to it not the arrow , I do know where it’s pointing though

I have shot a mathews nocam which was my favorite out of the mathews bows, right now I shoot an oneida eagle Phoenix, it's the best bow I have ever shot, I like bows at a cozy draw weight around 55 lbs, take your time and find the right arrow, draw weight and nock height combination. I would highly suggest you lean towards the oneida phoinex.

the longer the less pain. But make sure you get a "finger tab"...a small piece of leather to go on your fingers..google...

Split vision , arrow and gap are blurry but I do see it especially at 45 yards and beyond.

@@sqhunter65 sounds great, for some reason I like compounds around 32” shooting fingers. Don’t have any more wheel bows right now
It’s not finger pinch. It knock pinch which move the arrow
