This is part of the fun I have had just as much fun popping mining barges in a stealth bomber as I have playing cat and mouse trying to not get ganked. I had a great time the other night evading a moa hunting me through low sec. I managed to escape but nothing gets my heart racing in a game like hunting and being hunted in eve, the feeling of mining or running an exploration sites and seeing a T2 frigate or a destroyer show up on d-scan then spamming the d-scan and seeing it get closer and closer as you are trying to scoop your drones and run or get cloaked and hide, pure gaming adrenaline at it's finest.

I don't want the ship. I'm a bit surprised at what you didn't mention. At the least, fly to the nearest Athanor and compress the ice and put it in the item hangar. Then you can collect 190 units and load them up to fly back to your home station when you're done mining. I park a procurer at a few systems that I ice mine on a regular basis. That way I can have 5 combat drones, 5 salvage drones, and one ice mining drone in the drone bay, so that if I'm the only one mining that location (which happens infrequently) I'm more prepared to defend my ship. I fly the endurance to the station, get in the procurer, and mine. Then transfer the compressed ice to the endurance and fly the endurance back to the home station.
o7 Lorumerth. Do you ever mine on stream? Have you ever gotten ganked or watched a gank happen on the belt u are in? My corp would love to protect players from ganks and ice mining is obivuly a good spoot for such protection.

I did some gas harvesting and jumped into a Warmhole for about 20 mil ISK before having to bail to keep from being ganked. I think I will try this one next when I play tonight. I like this vídeo, the game seems initialy very goo but i have a story. well i started playing it was on my third day and i was enjoying the game and they told me that the quickest way to manage a ship would be mining, i went there mune and got a yellowish mining ship that in two days generated me isk to Maybe I could get 4 more of them, but I ended up sleeping because I had come back from work and was tired when I woke up it was destroyed and my character was dead, I used another ship from that hopscotch I went to another place because maybe the npcs were too strong where I was, in less than two minutes 5 other players showed up and destroyed me in less than 10 seconds. again I took my third yellow ship and went to another place but as soon as I left unvisibility my ship was destroyed I didn't even see how it was just destroyed, ok I still have one last ship tomorrow I'll try in another place, the other day I went to a place where forum said it was safe maximum security and such, when it was almost full again 5 players came out of nowhere and destroyed my last little ship. I ran out of isk to buy another one and totally unmotivated, I uninstalled the game. later I found out that you can tell if the player is a beginner or not in the game and that made me even more frustrated, certainly this game is super dynamic from what I've read, but certainly this type of thing must surely keep away 99% of new players who want to experience the game. May be i try again and give another chance to the game o do what you say.
In the beginning you said you use the ORE Ice Miner because of the 0% Residue Probability. But since you are mining only 1 unit of ice per cycle, the residue should be 0 as long as the residue is below 50% or am I missing something here? (just came back to eve and residue is a new concept for me). Also even if you are wasting ice while mining, I would argue that with a solo frigate your goal should be to gain as much ice as possible since the barge/exhumer fleets with mining boosts will mine most of the belt anyways. Thank you for the video. I am a bit late but I hope you still see this :)

I was under the wrong assumption that the residue is the %-amount of the recovered ice/ore/gas that is lost with every single cycle. Coming back to eve always feels like going back to school and learning the basics for a couple of weeks :D

So it’s about 50 mil an hour, assuming your skills/fit. I mean… it’s great to run on a second account if you have one for passive side ISK, but I think recommending it to new players is a bad idea. Pressing F1 and going AFK isn’t exactly engaging gameplay, they’ll just rage-quit from being bored out of their skulls after an hour. Assuming they don’t get suicide ganked in high-sec, or just ganked anywhere else.

Just please consider the following and try to stay intellectually honest with yourself, me, and anyone else watching/reading: You warp to belt and start mining. Your cycle time is 1-5 minutes depending on skills, and you have a 19k m3 cargohold. So after you start mining, you're AFK for 19-95 minutes. My questions are as follows: 1) Can you honestly say that pressing a single button once in 19-95 minutes even qualifies as "playing the game" in even the simplest technical sense? 2) Whether or not it even qualifies as playing the game, do you think players who are new to the game and start doing it as a main activity are more likely to a) find the gameplay interesting and engaging, and stick with the game, or b) quit after a week or two (at best) because they get bored watching paint dry and think the entire game is like that? Again, nothing against miners and mining in general, and no one is trying to take it away from you or anyone else. Just for the love of God, please, don't recommend it to new players. Literally _any other activity_ of which there are dozens is preferable, combat or otherwise. Hell, chat scamming or updating market orders while docked in a station in Jita is more active and engaging.

Astrology (and other mining skills) do not affect ice harvesting! That is why getting into the best ship, with thr best modules, matters so much

If the residue procs on ice, it burns away some ice. So more reaidue chance = less ice and faster asteroid burn. Hope that makes sense!
