UPDATE: I fixed the weird distortion noise by taping around the woofer with electrical tape, I guess the original gasket wasn't enough and I needed to put tape there to seal it up

@@speakertester65 I looked up your sound system and it seems to have the same subwoofer design as mine. A few things I'd recommend: You need to enlarge the screw holes on the new driver so they line up with the original holes. The driver in the x240 looks different but knowing Logitech it is most likely 4 ohms and is most likely powered by the same amp. I'd still check the impedance of the original driver and make sure it's 4 ohms. Next, once the new woofer is installed I'd recommend taping around it with some electrical tape to really seal it up and get rid of almost all the mechanical noise. If you have any questions about this mod, Just comment and I'll most likely respond.

the ultimate upgrade for a little subwoofer like this would be replacing the port with a 6.5 inch passive radiator, i would build a new box for the amp and use speaker terminals to connect it to the subwoofer.
at this point you would be free to use any kind of passive subwoofer so making a new box for the active driver and passive radiator would make it so you can go back to the original box incase you mess up, it would be like having a huge port that you can still tune low (with weights) in a small box and whats not to like about that.

My Logitech subwoofer has a ripped surround and a big hole in the surround and its base is getting really bad
Stock amp can power it fine? Does it really make a difference, the stock speaker rumbles my floor and sofa near it i wonder how it would be with this woofer
huge difference, bass is much deeper. Cleaner, and louder. stock amp will have no problems with a 4ohm woofer

something might have became undone inside, send it to a repair place or try to repair it yourself if your experienced.
I have the same buzzing noise. I found that it was the 3.5mm jack which I fixed it by putting electrical tape over it, but that's just me.
the 3.5mm jack at the back of the sub tends to leak air for some reason

Remove the port and replace it with something better. It's just a stupid piece of cardboard. I'm sure it will make a difference.
I tried sealing it, but that did not sound good. I'll just deal with the port noise
