- Nine people were wounded during a shooting on a Florida beach this Memorial Day. After gunshots rang out, people ran for their lives on the Hollywood Oceanfront Boardwalk in Hollywood Beach, Florida. What started as a “dispute between two groups,” turned into nine people, some of whom are children, being rushed to the hospital. The shooting happened just before 7:00 in the evening. Authorities say a person of interest has been detained while police search for another.

I live in Florida very close to a beach. It's a shame people can't go to the beach on a holiday without people starting violence.

I was just in Florida for vacation and the whole time we were down there. I was on edge, so scared that something like this was gonna happen. I hope everybody involved is Okay:(

I hope everyone is okay too and I remember before the mass shooting at Greenwood Mall happened last July, I sensed for quite a while that somewhere in Indianapolis (the city I live in) there was going to be something happening somewhere. At least in that situation there was someone able to take out the shooter but still, it shouldn’t have happened just like with this one in Florida and countless others. Ever since that Greenwood Mall shooting I’ve heard that mall has been pretty empty everyday ever since and some businesses have closed down from it. This is a mall also that used to be very active even in the middle of the week, let alone weekends.
Stay away from the non-white areas
I feel on edge anywhere in the US. From my hometown in Socal to Denver, Seattle, Las Vegas.. even Honolulu for god’s sake! I even felt safer in Thailand despite not being fluent in thai or ever having visited asia before.

This is getting so much more common and frequent these days. Like almost every month or every other week I hear about another mass shooting.

If we make a remark about the individuals involved culture we get labeled as racist, but we can't address a genuine societal danger without first pointing at the obvious.

There is footage that media won’t show. The shooter wore a gray hoodie and his partner wore a orange one. They were both ‘scholars’ with appropriate hairstyles. One was captured and looking for the other.

This is disgusting. We had our spring break ruined and now I don’t want to go anywhere crowded. We were in Gulf Shores,AL at The Hangout by the public beach and shots rang out. We had no idea where it was from and we were stuck inside the restaurant but most the people jumped the 10-12ft ledge and started running. I have really bad knee so I knew I wouldn’t land right so I flipped our table and hid behind but everyone was telling me, we gotta go lets go, I jumped and messed my ankle up. My poor niece and daughter were separated and having ptsd stuff. Id like to go to summefest which is huge festival in milwaukee where I live but I’m actually afraid of something like this happening.

I was literally in Florida when this happened.. but we also were close to a single crash where a pedestrian got hit. It’s so sad that people just want to start chaos and people get hurt.
