  • What better way to experience Filipino food, than to order what the locals order? We also let the locals decide where we go eat! We figured this could be a win win, regarding we don't order after a family of 15 people...

      The menu in the Philippines is so much better than what we have here in the States. Went to Bon Chon in Vegas and was disappointed in what they had. Plus, it costs twice as much here than in the Philippines. Also Chow King's pancit here is basically just noodles. The menu is half of what it is in the Philippines.

      @downthispath6538 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My most favorite sisig is a cheap 45 peso one a stall used to sell in my university canteen. They eventually moved out of the university and opened elsewhere, idk where. It was a sad day for everyone when we found out. There used to be a loooooooooooooooooog line all the time because it was so cheap and so tasty. The servings were kinda small but that's fine. You could get 2 boxes for only 90 pesos which is like less than $2! There's also an amazing sisig place a ride away from my place. Always packed. The sisig servings ranges from 50 pesos to 110 pesos. I once bought the 110 and ordered 3 cups of rice and a bottle of mountain dew. Ate like a king and only paid 150 pesos which is about $3.

    3.) Chow King - fish sweet and sour lauriat or fried chicken, Lomi, Siopao and Milky white halo halo.
    4.) Mang Inasal - PM 1.5 Spicy Paa with unli rice or Fiesta Set meal and Halo Halo.
    Kindly try my recommendations.

    Plus common perception of us Filipinos when it comes to foreigner is that Doughnuts are usually the go to for breakfast. Just saying.

    I used to work in BGC and that place feels really fancy. Like not even one single street vendor. Cheapest food option is the convenience store, fast foos or the cafeteria at the office. I had to bring my own food everyday to save money. Plus little to no transportation in BGC. Either you take the BGC bus that follows a specific route and stops, taxi or habal-habal (not so safe). Grab and Uber wasn't that known back then. One time I had to leave work early since I work at night that is midnight to me. Sadly, no bus at midnight so I had to walk from my office to Ayala MRT.

    Gotta appreciate sticking to the challenge, but the way to enjoy local food is to go to local eateries, not fancy fast food restaurants. I like u guys. 😄😄😄

    Hey guys! If you want the experience of a lifetime, try eating at Sofitel’s Spiral Buffet. It’s been reviewed by a bunch of foodies, both local and foreigners. It’s basically a food utopia. I know it costs around 3,500 php (per person) to eat there but I’m sure it’ll be worth it. Have fun here in the Philippines!

    Chowking actually has bamboo chopsticks but you need to request it. Lol. They have it on display before, together with the spoons and forks, but people kept on getting multiples to take home so now they are not on display. Lol.

    Go to the food court. Get some Sisig Hooray or Sizzling Plate. Maybe grab some Siomai House or eat at Potdog/Paotsin. Oh, you gotta try Max's though or Bario Fiesta. They're restaurants but they're really good.

    Go to Tapsi ni Vivian and try absolutely everything! Or Rodrick's Tapsilog, there's one in UP Town Center. Also, try the street food in UP Diliman. Let me know if you're in QC and in need of a tour guide ☺

    If you want good Filipino food from different areas, try Provenciano restaurant along Maginhawa Street in Quezon City. If you have a bit of a sweet tooth, try sansrival (without rival) from Sweet Inspiration...they have one with the usual cashew nuts, a version with almonds, and another with pistachio nuts...their meals are also pretty good :)
