Gentle Yoga: Joint Freeing Series

  • A home yoga practice to move the joints in the body through their range of motion. It's easy for joints to get stiff and feel stuck for many reasons, eg., lack of exercise, too much time at a desk or in front of screens, and the one we all share: aging. Gentle, mindful yoga movement and breathing is a great antidote.
    (There is a mistake at 22min where the side bend and twist to the left side is left out. Please pause the video and do them on your own! We'll get it better in the next video! haha!)
    Please adapt this practice according to your needs and inclination. I invite you to practice with an attitude of "ahimsa," non-harm. Keep yourself safe. Yoga in it's truest form is designed to benefit you. There is no need to push, force or to even do every pose or movement. It is not a competition and every person's body looks and moves differently. Yoga is not about external appearances, how fancy a shape your body can make. It is about an inner attitude of observing, listening, sensing, and making intelligent choices according to your body, your mind, and your situation on any given day. I invite you to be curious and appreciate your today's practice! There is no need to compare yourself with others' bodies and abilities. If you can breathe you can do yoga. Gentle yoga is the new advanced practice.
