You don’t actually need to be In Zelda’s room in the castle. You just need to Stick around Inside of the castle long enough and a little peice of Zelda’s lullaby Will play eventually and then transition back into the castle Inside theme
@@henrikfoersom9649 you have the right idea; it's really just part of the loop, like how what we could consider link's theme/the theme of the hero of hyrule plays at that same point in the outside version of the track.
My favourite musical reference in BotW is how each race or tribe has his own kind of instrument(s). Rito’s instrument are the clarinet, which has a big solo in the Rito Village theme, and the accordion, very important in Kass’ and Revali’s themes. Other kind of woodwind instruments, such as the flute, are quite relevant in other themes of this race. Gerudo’s instrument is a kind of zither, which is present in different places of the Gerudo Desert and Urbosa’s and Riju’s themes among others. In general, string instruments have been very attached to this tribe in different games. Goron’s instruments are brass instruments, which can be heard in the Death Mountain and Daruk’s and Yunobo’s themes. Finally, Zora’s instrument is the synthesizer, followed by the piano, which is very important all over the OST, but has a special meaning in Sidon’s and Mipha’s themes. All this is summarised in Tarrey Town’s theme. When the Goron comes, a trombone solo appears. So does the zither with the Gerudo, the clarinet with the Rito and the guitar with a different rythm (instead of the synth) with the Zora. I hope I am not the only one who has noticed this!
You missed the little crescendo sound that pops up whenever you cook a dish successfully in *BOTW* , which is the same as the one in *Skyward Sword* when you make the big Pumpkin Soup for Levias. I mean... it's some sort of music right?
What if as a super hidden easter egg, when playing in hand-held mode while holding the master sword, if your battery is low the master sword will blink twice every few seconds.
I like that there's a hint of Zelda's Lullaby while riding horse at day, and a hint of Song of the Hero at night. Also when you inside the castle you can hear a Castle Theme with Zelda's Lullaby, while outside a Song of the Hero. Like it symbolize that Zelda is fighting inside a Ganon and Link outside. Sorry for my bad English.
I know this is a year later replying to you, but your english was very good. I understood completely what you were saying. Don’t cut yourself down so much!
Hearing the Fi's theme legitimately made my entire body flush with goosebumps. I loved Skyward Sword so much. Okay, I got goosebumps multiple times after watching the video all the way through.
Yup I agree. I don't understand why people don't like BOTW's music. It's supposed to be ambient. But I do wish there were more tracks. Although the existing ones are great.
How they put Epona's Song into breath of the wild has to be one of my favorite Zelda references in the game. Not only does it bring a lot of nostalgia, it actually fits in the overall world. Seeing Kass play it at the stables fits perfectly with the overall atmosphere, bringing a feeling of warmth, comfort, and safety. I wouldn't be surprised if Epona's Song would become a popular folk song in later years, even all the way down to Breath of the Wild.
Make sure it's When you're in the lost woods, for that is where OOT Link thought where "they" went after their adventure together, then let them be the only fairy there, showing that she is still there, even though link couldn't find his friend, she is still there, waiting for him... It could be linked with a quest granted when a korok sees link in their "of the wild tunic", The Lone Fey. A conclusion to this fairys long wait, seeing her friend (or at least his spirit) one last time before fading. I could see it go like this. A korok is getting annoyed by a single stray fairy wondering the lost woods, tasking link to find it, when you do, you see it wondering aimlessly saying "hey" in a desparate tone, then it notices you, you then see a drop of water fall from the fairy, it rushes in and goes into you like a spirit orb, then a text box says "You feel a sudden saddness, but now you feel whole." filling your HP. There is also a song reference when you pull out the master sword it’s the same song when you pull it from skyward sword. Also in the champions ballad when you upgrade the sword the same song and position when link lifts the master sword in the air it is a reference from skyward sword when you first meet fi.
Actually the song that plays when Link draws the Master Sword predates Skyward Sword, it's used in Ocarina of Time too. It might also be in Link to the Past, but I'm not sure on that one.
It's incredible that such a minimalistic soundtrack is such a banger! I love how it rarely plays while just traversing the overworld, and then it blows up when you encounter an enemy or enter a town. It's beautiful.
Thanks for making this video. Breath of the Wild has a great soundtrack and I love all the references they included. Here are a few more you left out: -Something the composers confirmed in a really neat interview, not only are Sidon and Mipha's themes very similar, but they use different scales- Mi and Fa for Mipha and Ti and Do for Sidon (his Japanese name is Shido)! Their themes are also incorporated into Attack on Vah Ruta. -They also mentioned that the phrase used in the Divine Beasts Attack is also used in one of the DLC memories and the theme for King Rhoam's flashback. In the latter you can also hear parts of Zelda's Lullaby, the main theme, Ganon's theme, the Guardian theme, and Castle Town Ruins. -A more obvious one, Zora's Domain is a remix of the same theme from Ocarina of Time. -The four Blight Ganons all share the same theme, but use different instruments and backing fit for each champion. Calamity Ganon's battle theme is also a fully orchestrated, dramatic version of the same theme. -As you build Tarrey Town, the music adds leitmotifs related to the theme of each town the others came from. -Speaking of which, the Rito have a little leitmotif in their tracks- it’s present in Rito Village, Revali's Theme, and Attack on Vah Medoh. -Lastly, just a fact I think is neat. One of the composers for this game was Manaka Kataoka. She wrote some of the really epic themes, like the battle themes for the Guardian and Talus. But she also wrote the title theme for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, which I think is a really funny contrast.
I remember talking to kass at the Rito stable he actually mentions that the song he plays is the song that the ancient hero used to call his horse I don't know if this is referencing the hero of time or the hero 10,000 years ago (or possibly both) but its interesting nonetheless
Woulda been neat. It's debated by some, but in the first minute of Hyrule Castle's Exterior you can hear something that sounds incredibly similar to the opening to Ballad of the Wind Fish at least, so that's cool. Wish he'd touched on it but the whole theme has so many references it'd take a while.
I've always loved the stables and their music. And Kass being there to play Epona's Theme alongside the stable theme is even better. I caught that a long time ago, but it never gets old.
"The recorder sound that plays in the opening of ocarina of time"...... dude that's an ocarina. You know it's a recorder when its shrill and terrible lol
when i was first going through the game, and got to the Fi part, i genuenly teared up, cause Skyward sword was my very first Zelda game, and the game that got me into the series, so hearing her theme and the little sound was so amazing to me
Very random note, but love the overlay design elements on this episode. The little Sheikah-styled wavelength player in the bottom left is fantastic. Thanks for another quality video!
The sound design in the game is genuinely unparalleled, and every song in game is well suited, well utilized and fantastic pieces of music in their own rights. HOWEVER, I still do wish there was more emphasis on grander, iconic themes. I think given everything they've learned from his game, the sequel will take a huge leap in that direction.
I went and saw the Zelda Symphany Orchestra a few years ago...it was PURELY amazing... can never hear the true sound of Zelda music so clear and crisp as that.
Honestly, during the final memory I was already crying but then I heard Fi and the tears just didn't stop. I was so incredibly happy to hear her, to know that she's still around.
The last reference you posted about the music sounding like when Majora’a moon is defeated, it also sounds like the end of OoT when link is returning the sword to the pedestal and the temple bells are ringing.
Mind blown by the Majora's Mask themes, tbh I never even realized the parallel between the giants and the titans! I can't imagine those themes weren't direct references.
I always loved Fi, and never understood why people hated her so much. Hearing Fi’s little jingle in Breath of the Wild just makes my heart melt every time. No companion in the series could ever compare to her loyalty, imo. She’s been with Link for centuries, through thick and thin. We may not be able to talk to her anymore, but she’s still there all the same.
Yes my favorite Easter Eggs! Finding different Zelda tunes in Breath of the Wild was probably the highlight of my journey. Of course that's just my opinion, I'm sure it's different for other people! 😁
I'm saving this video so I can watch it later.. It's so good. I haven't noticed most of these somehow and I play this game alot and Its my favorite game. And the ammouny of detail in this game is just crazy.. Blows my mind.. This game is beautiful.. Truly a masterpiece

That Fi Easter Egg is amazing made me feel things. I love your content as always! Every time I watch your videos it makes me want to pick up the game again!
The Majora's Mask reference is what got me. I don't know why, it just hit me more than the others. It might be because I'm closer MM and OoT more than the others, like Skyward Sword. But man it gave me the feels.
The part with Fi's sound and theme almost brought me to tears. Music parallels are my favorite part of Zelda games. It really makes you feel the history of The Legend of Zelda
It was for a concert in 2018 that featured the accordion, harp, and Ocarina. Since the accordion is a type of organ, it is fitting that it was included as you could say that it's Ganondorf's instrument, much like the harp would be Zelda's and the Ocarina would be Link's.
The feeling I felt when I heard Dragon Roost and LoZ theme while riding at night for the first time in BotW is a feeling I’ll never forget until the day I die. Brought me back.
Oh my word the amount of times I got emotional watching this because of the nostalgia and all the musical references you discovered here...aaaahhh Zelda games and their music was one of my the biggest parts of my childhood so this was a real ride into the past. Your videos always help make my day a bit better, it's like I get to be a kid again when I watch them and listen to you talk about Zelda, so thank you! :3
Zelda Music always succeeds in capturing emotion so well, and those moments of suspense and Epicness, like the 4 divine beasts firing their lasers will always give me that sense of Awe!
One extremely easy to miss reference is the chest opening command, three quick notes that play as soon as you press A to open any chest. They're the exact same as the notes that play every time you summon Midna in Twilight Princess. When you think about how many chests you've opened in BoTW and have never noticed you'll realise just how subtle it is.
Pretty sure there's about 10 main entry games in the series so, probably a waste. Hell 5 of them are basically decided from the get go, Ocarina, Majora, Breath,Twilight,Wind. Then yiu have the first one, past, awakening and suddenly you're only two short and have gone through most of the games
I was hoping you’d mention this one: The soundtrack you play at 3:03 is a reference to the dark world theme from a link to the past which happens when you climb a tower
One of the best videos of this channel was the one about the SOS sound when you enter in the Divine beasts. Just to remember it gives me goosebumps, it’s a shame you deleted it and never posted again
When you mentioned The Champion’s Ballad theme in the 12 Champion’s DLC Shrines, it made my cry omg this entire video made me both smile and cry. Thank youuuu
You're definitely right about how calming the music is at the stables - I've dozed off while standing around them! (Or maybe I was just tired from those long hours of climbing everything?)
About 46 seconds into the song that plays on Mount Hylia, you can hear a short series of notes that sound incredibly similar to Clock Town from Majora's Mask.
I'll admit I've never played Skyward Sword but hearing Fi's theme legit makes me emotional! The version of her theme that plays when her and Link part ways (I think it's called Fi's Farewell) is SO good. Now that you mentioned Fi, I'd really love to see her make an appearance in BoTW2... Perhaps even having a role in the sequel o:
I'm pretty sure that every single details you mention is indeed a reference! Nintendo really have a hand to create a master piece that we can reference to older game! For me, Nintendo have the best in game music!!

One of my favorite features of Breath of the Wild has to be the music. So much care and love went into the soundtrack, and it just sounds (chef’s kiss) PERFECT!
Breath of the Wild is basically a love letter to the whole franchise with all these musical, visual and textual references. Fitting for a game that pushes the franchise forward.
I particularly loved how the music playing at Hyrule Castle cycles between Zelda's Lullabye, the classic Legend of Zelda Theme, the Dungeon 9 Theme from the first Legend of Zelda, and Ganon's Theme from multiple Zelda games. Such a cool medley!
Why would you want ant him to not get sponsored? Can't tell if you want him to have other sponsorships or if you're hating on him for trying to make a living
I never really read into some of these tracks making reference to older games, mainly because I was enjoying the game, but now that I’ve heard it the way it was done in this video, I’m never gonna unhear it. And I love it even more. It’s things like this that one doesn’t think of until someone brings it up that impress me the most.
I absolutely love your videos, especially this one. Beyond things like gameplay, characters, cutscenes or what have you, it’s always the music from the Zelda series and the memories I associate with it that sticks with me more than anything else. Whether it’s hearing the Kakariko Village and Hyrule Castle themes and remembering sitting on my uncle’s bed and watching him play A Link to the Past or hearing the Kokiri Forest theme and remembering how excited I was opening up Ocarina of Time (with a new rumble pack, of course) on Christmas morning in 1998 and finally getting a chance to have a Zelda play through I could call my very own, I’ll never forget the amazing memories and feelings I have for the games all because of this timeless, universally recognizable music. And with all that’s going on the world right now, I think those are the types of memories and feelings people probably want to remember the most right now. Thank you, Zeltik, for uploading something like this.
10:15 Maz's theme is awesome. Also, notice the build-up of the music every time you activate a terminal inside a Devine Beast? I especially liked the full version of the Final Trial's theme.
Don't get me wrong, BotW has awesome music - I just dont listen to it actively like the music in other titles of the franchise. But I have to say that making some tracks only recognizable to an old song by speeding it up or slowing down and even then only with a lot of phantasie.....not an argument for good music imo. More like easter eggs that are pointless as you dont notice them while playing (not speaking of obvious things like stable theme)
There is a big one you missed, when you beat calamity Ganom, the legendary legend of Zelda main theme starts playing after Zelda says ‘let’s go to the domain
After playing Hyrule Warriors and watching Skyward Sword, I noticed the guidance stone one in my game or maybe just randomly. But it’s also the same theme as get master sword! Chest theme, then key item sound. Also, it is complete! The Sheikah sound on the map is the key item sound! Nintendo really loves adding those details.
I haven’t heard any mentions, but if you are near ruins, the ruins theme plays. Wait long enough, and you will hear the Mario galaxy opening slowed down on piano
I just finished this game, and one of my favorites was the inside and outside castle theme! I love what sounds like the organs Ganon plays from Ocarina of Time, battling and harmonizing with Zelda's Lullaby! I think it's one of my favorite themes for any game- because the two songs mashed and merged clearly sound like Zelda and Ganon fighting for their place and presence in the song, but they merge so well together.
Precisely yesterday, I was talking to my mother about the amazing music of this game and sending her my favourite tracks ^^ Your videos give me peace and always keep me completely engaged. Your work is amazing.

It would be really cool if a heavily remixed Ballad of the Wind Fish played when you were near one of the Leviathans
@@zainaurion4330 its actually southern face shrine :) listen to it its exactly the same main melody has hyrule castle lol
Someone named loeder did an 8-bit version of the castle and you can definitely hear ballad of the wind fish in that
I've always loved the stables and their music. And Kass being there to play Epona's Theme alongside the stable theme is even better. I caught that a long time ago, but it never gets old.
"The recorder sound that plays in the opening of ocarina of time"...... dude that's an ocarina. You know it's a recorder when its shrill and terrible lol
he says "originally the recorder sound from zelda 1"
when i was first going through the game, and got to the Fi part, i genuenly teared up, cause Skyward sword was my very first Zelda game, and the game that got me into the series, so hearing her theme and the little sound was so amazing to me
Very random note, but love the overlay design elements on this episode. The little Sheikah-styled wavelength player in the bottom left is fantastic. Thanks for another quality video!
Speaking of Majora's Mask, sometimes in the overworld there is a short little jingle of Clock Town's theme.
Cool I am not the only one who noticed that!
Snowy mountain theme? I heard it there
Who else squealed when they heard Fi’s jingle for the first time in BotW? It made me so happy when I realized she was still alive in there.
It's just amazing how after the game's release two years ago, I still find new information and references in te game!!
can‘t believe it! i love zelda so much, feeling so blessed to be part of the oot generation and experiencing all the glory of zelda 👌🏼
Speaking of epona's song, did anyone besides me notice that Link's whistling is part of Epona's song as well?
Da da da
Da
Da
Weird Kokiri did you also noticed that Hestu’s samba music when receiving korok’s seed is Minuet of Forest played in reverse? ...
Don’t push it
The last reference you posted about the music sounding like when Majora’a moon is defeated, it also sounds like the end of OoT when link is returning the sword to the pedestal and the temple bells are ringing.
Or it sounds like the prelude of light from OoT, which I believe both BotW and MM reference there.
My favourite musical easter egg is probably the least hidden. When Kass plays the original Zelda theme in Champions’ Ballad I get serious nostalgia.
Mind blown by the Majora's Mask themes, tbh I never even realized the parallel between the giants and the titans! I can't imagine those themes weren't direct references.
Could you make a video speaking about the morse code when Link is near of the divine beasts?
I always loved Fi, and never understood why people hated her so much. Hearing Fi’s little jingle in Breath of the Wild just makes my heart melt every time. No companion in the series could ever compare to her loyalty, imo. She’s been with Link for centuries, through thick and thin. We may not be able to talk to her anymore, but she’s still there all the same.
Everyone hates her because she’s just annoying
Yes my favorite Easter Eggs! Finding different Zelda tunes in Breath of the Wild was probably the highlight of my journey. Of course that's just my opinion, I'm sure it's different for other people! 😁
I'm saving this video so I can watch it later.. It's so good. I haven't noticed most of these somehow and I play this game alot and Its my favorite game. And the ammouny of detail in this game is just crazy.. Blows my mind.. This game is beautiful.. Truly a masterpiece
HOW DID I NOT NOTICE FIs’ THEME?! BRUHHH!! That’s so awesome!! Love your vids! I always think I know everything about Zelda but then I watch your vids and LEARN MORE!! THANK YOU!
I love that I'm a diehard fan and can still miss some of these. This series is truly unique.
Some where deep down, I’ve known this all this time. It’s like a memory trying to be awakened.
Might even say: “it feels somehow... familiar” hmm?
That Fi Easter Egg is amazing made me feel things. I love your content as always! Every time I watch your videos it makes me want to pick up the game again!
13:47 "oooh oh say can you see?"
I was today years old when I realized spirit orbs are like heart pieces
oh by Hylia... you even need 4 of them!
I was today years old too! XD God damnit!
Is that picture of Link playing the accordion official artwork? I’ve never seen it before
RamenRool2020 It’s not artwork from the game, but it is from Nintendo.
xXLethe’sXWingsXx ahh ok. Thanks for clarifying
It was for a concert in 2018 that featured the accordion, harp, and Ocarina. Since the accordion is a type of organ, it is fitting that it was included as you could say that it's Ganondorf's instrument, much like the harp would be Zelda's and the Ocarina would be Link's.
@@saraross8396 but what if, in Botw 2, Link played a mini piano in the Sheikah slate?
@@Seraphic2004 ....piano tiles on a Sheikah Slate
I adore video game music and easter eggs, so I'm definitely loving this one. Thanks for making it!
For me, one of your best videos ever... and all your Zelda videos are great. Thanks
I have always loved Zelda music. This made my eyes watery.
I was really hoping you would mention the Malanya theme when you were talking about the stable themes, It's such a good song and reference altogether!
You’ve done such a great job with this video. This is definitely one of my favorites.
Man I just realized how much of this music really goes unnoticed when I play. I feel it’s because it’s so fitting that I don’t break it down too much
Never clicked so fast! Could you do a top ten Zelda games or a tier list? Thx 😊
No
Pretty sure there's about 10 main entry games in the series so, probably a waste. Hell 5 of them are basically decided from the get go, Ocarina, Majora, Breath,Twilight,Wind. Then yiu have the first one, past, awakening and suddenly you're only two short and have gone through most of the games
@@ivanvalentin7713 This is kinda your opinion. "Kinda" because most people agree but it's still just an opinion
There is actually 18 canon Zelda games so a lot to choose from.... just saying....
@@rysea9855 No, it's illogical to think 10/18 is worth making a list of
I was hoping you’d mention this one:
The soundtrack you play at 3:03 is a reference to the dark world theme from a link to the past which happens when you climb a tower
One of the best videos of this channel was the one about the SOS sound when you enter in the Divine beasts. Just to remember it gives me goosebumps, it’s a shame you deleted it and never posted again
Oh! Why was it erased??
When you mentioned The Champion’s Ballad theme in the 12 Champion’s DLC Shrines, it made my cry omg this entire video made me both smile and cry. Thank youuuu
Yay new vid from zeltik! XD
Oh god, I loved this so much...
You have no idea how cool it was to connect those music references, and I'm a very musically oriented person

Who knows there could be one day when zeltik doesn’t get sponsored bye squarespace... probably not though
Sword Guy Well either squarespace or raid
Why would you want ant him to not get sponsored? Can't tell if you want him to have other sponsorships or if you're hating on him for trying to make a living
Or Raycon
I agree, goodbye squarespace
I never really read into some of these tracks making reference to older games, mainly because I was enjoying the game, but now that I’ve heard it the way it was done in this video, I’m never gonna unhear it. And I love it even more. It’s things like this that one doesn’t think of until someone brings it up that impress me the most.
Here's one: one of the Gorons in the mining camp on the way to Goron City hums something suspiciously close to Totaka's Theme.
Anyone else hear 'in the bleak midwinter' in the opening segment of the theme. Literally takes me back to being a young link in the days
Gotta say I'm really loving the new black transition animations, very subtle but adds such production value to your videos. Love your content~!
Are you ever doing a video ranking all incarnations of Princess Zelda
I know it's a matter of time until botw2 comes out but I really want to see this
your videos just keep getting better and better, honestly fantastic work Zeltik, never change!
I love Fi being referenced to be concious again and the version of her theme in BOTW. Here hoping she will reappear in BOTW 2💕🥰
10:15 Maz's theme is awesome.
Also, notice the build-up of the music every time you activate a terminal inside a Devine Beast? I especially liked the full version of the Final Trial's theme.
Internet: Breath of the Wilds music sucks!
Me: shows them this video
Don't get me wrong, BotW has awesome music - I just dont listen to it actively like the music in other titles of the franchise.
But I have to say that making some tracks only recognizable to an old song by speeding it up or slowing down and even then only with a lot of phantasie.....not an argument for good music imo. More like easter eggs that are pointless as you dont notice them while playing
(not speaking of obvious things like stable theme)
I love that Majoras Mask parallel, thanks!! This video sort of changed my mind about BOTW's Music. Your videos are really awesome 🤗👌🏼
Use me as a "I didn't know Forest Haven was the Kokiri Forest music" button.
There is a big one you missed, when you beat calamity Ganom, the legendary legend of Zelda main theme starts playing after Zelda says ‘let’s go to the domain
If you stay long enough in kakariko village then the original kakariko theme will play
I have rewatched this video more than 10 times and it never gets old
I haven’t heard any mentions, but if you are near ruins, the ruins theme plays. Wait long enough, and you will hear the Mario galaxy opening slowed down on piano
Is that why every time I heard the info distilling sound my brain automatically expected to hear the iconic item get tune?!?!?!
Precisely yesterday, I was talking to my mother about the amazing music of this game and sending her my favourite tracks ^^
Your videos give me peace and always keep me completely engaged. Your work is amazing.
Been watching your videos for a while, this one is probably my favorite. I love hearing about little easter eggs, especially musical ones.
