The best thing about a Megadeth cover is understanding half the lyrics for the first time.
They’re printed off in the album sleeve. I always liked that Dave’s early vocals were indecipherable.

How do I own every Mastodon album and am still surprised how good Troy is.
Before the vocals started, I was wondering how well a straight-cover of a Megadeth song would sound without Dave singing it, but Troy killed it. It really makes me want to hear him and Mastodon to try and cover more songs.

Justin Neron that wasn’t a wireless mic and some mics like that one need a sender and receiver to make it be wireless. There was literally nothing plugged into the mic. Doesn’t mean it wasn’t his voice it just means he recorded it. In other words it wasn’t a live take. But he definitely did a great job in the studio. His voice was perfect for this song

Dave's vocals are to cover. They're so uniquely his that trying to sing well over Megadeth tracks is usually less than great. This guy killed it.
You should check out his band mastodon dude, they are one of the best from the 2000s onwards

Holy friggin hell: I must have listened to Rust In Peace for like hundreds of times and this is the first time I actually "heard" the whole lyrics. Such clean intonation, well done Troy. Sure the rest of the gang are killing it, but Troy's performance was a revelation. Well done peeps!
I seriously don't understand this. I've been listening to Rust In Peace since I found a cassette of it on the ground in 1993. His vocals have always been the most accessible out of all the 80's thrash/metal bands, for me personally.
