This is so pretty! What’s the purpose of leaving the piece of hair out when you feed it in? Every time I get braids they do it like this and I never asked why lol
To keep it separated. 1 piece goes with 1 of the 3 braid strands, and the other goes with the next. This probably doesnt make sense lololol. It's hard to explain

Shashaunta Briggs try twisting the braiding hair as you place it underneath your natural hair. go to beautycanbraid channel here on youtube. she zooms in so you can see what I mean by twisting the weave. before placing it. that helps to conceal where you added the hair. hope this helps :)
