- Hey guys! Here is a easy, step by step, beginner friendly tutorial on how I installed my passion twist. This style took about 4 hours to complete but if you will be doing the rubber band method parting that adds about another hour. I used 7 packs of Freetress water wave hair from my local beauty supply store for $5.99 per pack. The hair probably can also be found on Amazon for cheaper. Just wanted to answer a few of the most frequently asked questions.
1. How many parts do you have?
Unfortunately, I didn't count the parts but I do have a video showing how I parted my hair which can give you guys a better look at the number of sections I had.

2. What type of hair did you use & how many packs?
I used 7 packs of Freetress water wave hair from my local beauty supply store for $5.99 per pack. The hair probably can also be found on Amazon for cheaper.
3. How long does this style last & were they hard to take out?
I personally kept mine in for a month but they definitely could have lasted at least another month. They were surprisingly very easy to take out!

4. Did the rubber bands break your hair off?
Nope! I actually use rubber bands in my hair quite often when trying out different styles and they've never gave me any problems but people have suggested using the clear plastics ones if your worried these would cause breakage.
5.Did they come undone & can you swim with these?
Mine stayed in tact after twisting it down to end. They kind of mimic a twist out on natural hair, once you've twisted it to the end they just lock into place. I didn't swim with mine but I wouldn't suggest getting them wet.

lovelymemarie length wise? I’m 5’3 so they come to about the same length as hers did. How long did I’d take? It took me welllll over the 6 hrs she said it would. I had to go to sleep and wake up the next day to finish them. 😭

Riana Đenise they came out really cute. It took really long doing this method though. I ended up using rubber bands on my parts and crocheting through the hair under the rubber band.

One year later....Shout out to Kinzey Rae for this passion twist tutorial . I was able to follow the instructions and do my hair myself. It took me at least one trial and a retwist ( I forgot to use product the first time around) to get it right. My hair is cute and Poppin for the holidays. I got soo many compliments. I was unable to find the freetress hair so I used the Janet collection water wave hair. It worked just fine. I used 6.5 packs. Each pack I was able to get 8 braids per pack depending on how you do your plats. I used two strands of hair per braid/plat. Again thank you sis for the tutorial! This hair is hard to find but I was able to locate it and I'm trying it this weekend. Jesus be a fence between my head and my hands😂

Buy kankalon or however u spell it . and wrap around a straw or something of that nature , only need one pack make small sections, wrap it around a sturdy straw like object , rubber bands to secure , dip in hot water, dry overnight . Boom

@@-ramaiya-7763 no hard time here! The most annoying part was parting the hair. If you can part the hair and section it off in the rubber bands and as long as you have the correct hair, the rest is a breeze!
Was this hard to take out?? Because I want to pull the hair through the loop to make the knot but I'm afraid it will get tangled 🙁.
How was your hair when you took them down? Did you have build up? Didn't your break off?
@@ChristinaLibra no they weren't hard to take out. Because they are twists, they unravel quickly. Once they are unraveled you just pull the hair thru the loop and that's it.

Before this video I could not figure out how to do these. I just finished my daughter's hair using this method. It took me some time primarily with unraveling the hair, but I'm super proud of myself because they came out great. Thank you for sharing!

I love yours because I've been viewing some "passion twists" and it looks like someone attempted to make a decent twists but it unraveled itself. I wish I was able to wear braids or twists but I have a babyfaceeee and they make me look younger than what I already look like.

you need to rename this the invisible rubber band method. no other you tuber did the method you do which is pull half the hair thru the loop. the loop covers the band. most crochet the hair and pull the half straight thru but that leave the band exposed.

@@Plant_ohana I wish I had seen those 5 lol. I tried it a few months back. While it was easier it left the bands exposed and I felt self conscious. I went back and looked at many vids and noticed you could see theirs too. I was becoming discouraged I love braids and twist and wanted an easy method. So I was thrilled when I saw this revamped method. Such a little change makes a big differnece. I still haven't tried this method. But will when i have 7 hrs

Brittany Jackson If you use Lotta Body Foam Mousse you should be fine. Also, I don’t recommend getting your hair wet.
Its curly hair, once you twist it, it wont unravel! You can also get them wet, some ppl wash their passion twist, just might make them look older faster. But they won't unravel

Hello, I really want to try these and yours were so pretty. Is there a certain direction in which you twist the hair or any direction is fine?
I've heard someone say to the right and I've tried both and they still unravel, I also realized that it really doesn't work on relaxed hair. I'm just going to take out the two rows that I've done and do knotless braids

How long did this last and did you have a problem with the twist coming undone?
mine started falling out after 1 day.... professionally done. this style wont last long for the amount of time it takes to install. crochet might be better

like take the two finger you’re holding your hair with and twist the hair in the opposite direction that you’re gonna overlap your hair..i don’t really know how to explain tbh, just look up the twisting method so you can see what i’m trying to say 😂

The only question I have is snagging when you removed the rubber bands was that an issue?
I wonder would oiling the rubber band before you take it out help with that issue. Might be able to slip it right off
