I have a Code 4 knife with spear point blade; it’s one of my favorite pocket knives. I enjoyed your thorough evaluation video of the knife.
I have that configuration but in S35. It's one of my favorites. Big, but easy to carry and was only $70. Great value IMHO. Good job sir! ✌️
Definitely a great value
I have a Code 4 in S35VN. It is one of my favorite knives. The flat, smooth scales make this is great carry knife. I carry mine inside my waste band so the smooth scales are excellent. A new knife may have a really stiff tri-ad lock. It took me many months of opening and closing to smooth it out. Either way I really like this knife.
I carry inside the waste band as well when wearing joggers or shorts
You know what Jerad , I carry 3 to 4 knives every day bro and the code 4 is the one I do carry every day religiously no matter what. I have the Tanto version and I just can’t take it out of my rotation! I just love it! It’s aluminum handle scales are thin in comparison to the blade stock. Well built, strong with great materials. I think I paid like 80 bucks. It could use a better pocket clip but other then that it’s a home run for me. I’ll forever have a code 4 in my collection.
Im so close to buying one, the drop point version is my favorite i feel like its a perfect example of how a dp should be, but i also feel the same way about a tanto, i say it all the time the best tanto is the one on the code 4
@@NeevesKnives either way you won’t regret it bro! My finish on the aluminum handle scales has held up pretty dam good too
I own moare than 100 knives and many of them in the USD300+ range. The Code 4 (I have all 3 blade shapes here) is an excellent knife, especially at the price point. Great slicer, slim in the pocket and extremely sturdy, also because of the tri-ad lock. I would replace it directly with a new one if I should ever lose it, even though I have enough great alternatives. That's how much I like it. The review is spot on, thank you!
While I prefer xhp in general as a steel for a pocket knife, the times I use my code 4 make me appreciate the s35vn steel. It’s a little tougher, a little quicker to sharpen (though I enjoy sharpening xhp far more), and has a little bit better corrosion resistance. I use this knife a LOT in nasty conditions with thick work gloves, so the thin handle is great.
We’re really splitting hairs here as they both perform well and cold steel does an excellent job with heat treat and grind.
Love how thin it is
Clip point or spear point?
What color is it in person? some videos it looks beige and others silver
Love how big and beefy cold stell makes there k ives. Great review 👍
I have the same one, except I have spear point...very tough knife. Locks up tight and blade is very usable. Great review as always.
My all time fav is the drop point i feel that its a perfect example
This is a slicer// my first week cut through a wire like butter at work and then my shin like butter, needed stitches lol
Which knife would you pick the Code 4 or the Benchmade Turret?
Code 4, but I've never tried a turret
O yeah I'm in on the code 4 Love it's all business.... FOOD 🥑🥝 PREP... LOOKS UTILITARIAN.
Its a fantastic knife
Bang!!! let’s get it!!
I love the Code 4. Got 3 of them, 2 tantos and a drop point, I think the spear point is ugly. I have been carrying it all day everyday for a year and a half. The lockback does loosen up and gets easier to engage. I actually really like the smooth scales, I don't have any issues whatsoever with the fake "Slippery" complaints. This knife is extremely comfortable to hold, with no hot spots in my med to large hands. This is a great edc knife for pairing with a sidearm!
Jarred I was surprised that you did not compare to the Recon 1
awesome cold steel code 4. looks tuff af.
I concur with THAT 🤣.lol my name is Jimmy hope everyone is doing well...
@@JamesJones-yt8df hope your doing well too brother. god bless 🙏
Nice review. May get this when I have some money. You may want consider some Kevlar gloves!😄
Lol thats what my skins made of
Cracks me up everytime you bring out the 🎵🎶 AMERICAN LAWMAN!!! 🎶🎵
Lol it’s Slicey Diceys fault
Man you are pumping out videos so quickly I can't keep up anymore lol.
Damn right pants that’s how we roll dog
Would you take this steel over Vg10?
Yes
Isn't it like 800 lbs or something crazy to break a triad lock?
Are you good with stee types and grinds that you could make videos on blade steel and grinds
Ive done videos on steel types before and the edges they like
Wish the handles were a little thicker, but I’m sure it was mostly designed for use with gloves
Its an amazing user and knife all together
@@NeevesKnives I’m a city ( Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia) slicker thru and thru. New to all this but my max carry is a 3” blade. But if I needed something just not quite a fix blade...tri-ad lock all day long
@@tariqkamil7853 im also city, but love the country, so i like to think about both especially for the viewers, but for myself i always have to think urban and whats worked for me on the job and in life
@@NeevesKnives and that’s why ur reviews and ur channel is great. And why l subscribe.
@Richard Davis right to bare arms...I lived in tx for a bit and nyc...I guess what I meant was, abt the 3” blade, that’s all I need or want to edc
Is there a spear point model?
Yes
Watch Cold Steel video of the Dead Bolt vs. the Tri Ad & you will be surprised AF.
I would like to own a Code 4
What is the backspacer made of, I'm hoping it aluminum.
Really there is a video of that im going to go watch it now
Yes
Dude, you are sick ...
I just bought this yesterday
I got a good deal .....
I guess great minds think alike
Dude lives in Pittsfield Illinois,
So it shouldn’t take long to come in mail....
Awesome!! These are already sold out it sounds like, i figured they would so i snagged it as fast as i could, great deal
I hate the pocket clip and the thumb studs on this knife thats why I never carry it
I've been thinking of grabbing the black spearpoint version as well. Overall, a pretty good knife, I just wish they hadn't switched to s35. It isn't a bad steel, but I prefer the CTS-XHP.
I definitely prefer the xhp but im thinking about the dp version, its a perfect example of what a drop point should be especially with that hollow grind HOT DAMN!
It's on sale for 66 dollars for prime day😯😯
One of my favorites just a little smaller then I usually carry. But that is the exact knife I have in xhp. Its amazing slicer. Very tuff. All in all I take coldsteel over other name brands that charge 2× the price because of name.
You know everything in size comparison was way more money then I paid for the code4 an had steel i love.
Hey checkout coldsteel beat crkt deadbolt lock but it held its own they didn't show what failed on the dead bolt but tri-ad won out. So badest of bad
I watched that video and yes crkt held its own for sure, im guessing that cold steel broke right when they stopped the video but idk
@@NeevesKnives I wish they would have showed the failure. I like the button lock idea but not the materials an price. So I’m sticking with coldsteel
@@richardhenry1969 yeah the price is definitely for the lock and i agree the materials should match the price a little better, but i think they should definitely make more models with the lock, id really like to see them make a better line with a different logo that has better materials with that lock
I like rolling code 3 better. Lol
Holy shhh..... your knife fingers are tore up!!!!
It was sharpening stuff on them
Come on…lots bad it’s ok to say it.
