I love that your Pelikan collection has grown. I love that the m200 golden beryl holds a special place in your collection. I actually was the hub master for Fort Lauderdale FL . It was so much fun. You prepared very nicely for the hub. I hope you had a blast. Can’t wait to hear about it. Until soon. Hoping we meet again.
I don’t know if anyone is better prepared than you- so thoughtful also for „what would the others like“. Hope you had a great hub, looking forward to your experience 🎉
I am new to the pen and stationary community. I enjoy your videos and learn something each time I watch. I also keep a commonplace notebook. It is a nice way to gather information that pertains to you or is of interest to you. I live in the south shore of MA and it is fun to hear you speak of places close to home. Have a great time at Pelikan Hub.
I'm going to my first Pelican 19:38 Hub later today (9/27) in Huntsville Alabama. I've decided to leave my pens home partly because I want to take in what this event is about, and because most of the people there will be from my local pen group and they've seen all my pens. Enjoy your time at the PH.
I going to the Pelikan hub in Brisbane Australia this weekend. I am also taking my Kakimori dip pen and some TRP cut up in case anyone wants swatches of ink. I also take a tonne of ink samples as people normally want to swap.
I really wanted to get a Kakimori for swatching but didn’t take the leap. We have a local pen show coming up so maybe one will be there that I will buy.
I’m going to my first Pelikan hub in Boulder, CO (well, it’s held in Erie, CO). Your vid was very timely and appreciated as I wondered what I should take. Our host and participants (with experience) of course said that you don’t “need” to bring anything. Your “list” helped me decide what to take. The only Pelikans I have are school or Junior versions. Nothing *fancy* yet. Have fun!
That’s a good question…I would like to know too. The M200 I have is super light with a bouncy nib which I’m not a fan but if it had just a little more weight to it I think I would absolutely love it.
Maybe a hair heavier. The M800 is heavier for sure because the piston mechanism is metal instead of plastic, plus it's bigger in general. M600 is bigger than the M200/M400 both around and in length.
I'm going to my first Pelikan hub in Sacramento, CA. Not sure what to expect but excited to go. Hope you and everyone else going tomorrow has a amazing time! 🖋
Oh and I’ve been doing a commonplace book for a while now. Some of my friends are joining in it too. AND, last thing and not to name drop but I get to meet Pen Realm tonight. Turns out he and I live in the same town and are going to the same hub. I’ve heard his name so much so it will be fun to meet him.
I’m going to Pelikan Hub in Dallas. The Dallas Pen Show is going on at the same time so it’s in the same hotel. I am very excited. It’s my first show and my first hub. I am taking my Pelikan M600 red/white in a medium nib. I have it filled with De Atramentis Doc Green Grey because it just felt like Christmas when I bought I earlier this month.
I am going to my first Pelikan Hub tomorrow evening in College Station, Texas. I am also taking my Pelikan M600 red white (broad nib) filled with Wearingeul's Captain Hook. I'm going to take a notepad and, if I have time, some ink samples to share. I don't really have any idea what to expect, but I'm very excited.
I have just discovered what a commonplace notebook was this week and it is so cool to see you have started one! Can’t wait to see more videos about it.
i have been keeping a Commonplace for a year or so, and I shared it with some family members who were here at my house and they enjoyed it. I keep memento mori's in mine, as well as music lyric snippets, epitaphs, and other miscellaneous sayings. I love keeping it. Have fun at the Hub! Joe Brown from the Commonwealth Pen Show
Here to give moral support regarding the Pineider… I don‘t have one myself, but when you first showed it to us I spent a long, long time searching for one myself. I even thought I found one, but the site was badly kept and they did not really have it anymore after all. Then I looked at the nib size and stopped myself. But the design of the pen, the material everything is so beautiful. I just don‘t like huge nibs. That is why my little flock of Pelikans is mostly vintage from the 1970s when fountain pens attempted to look as sleek as those new-fangled roller ball pens… I hope you are having a great time at the hub.
Great video Lori, thanks for the extra effort of the redo. Always good info and a LOL or two “the big kahuna” Enjoy Pelikan Hub tonight and relax some on this lovely fall day.🕊
Good video, try to travel light. Inking your pens and knowing what ink is in each such a good idea. How generous to bring some ink to share. Remember to take some empty pens to sample other peoples ink they are sharing. Just enjoy the Pelikan pad and paper they give you but if you journal or do art/travel/calligraphy journal they are immensely popular at every Hub I have attended or organized over the years. Bring a cloth. Bring your camera to make social media posts and bring a give away or two for the Hub master to have draws and/or to pay it forward to a newbie you just want to be kind and gift a pen, dip pen, and let them get excited about the hobby.
Very cool concept for this event! I would love to try your Aurora, it's a dream of a pen! The Pineider aswell, a beauty! Maybe there's a way to make it not dry so fast?
Love your Vlogs . I learn something new every time. I'm new to 🖊 community ❤ Had to comment!!! I'm a little superstitious. You had 13 comments. Here's to #14😊
Watching this as I prepare ink samples to take to the London Pelikan Hub this evening in Spitalfields, looking forward to it.

Thank you for kicking it off for me! Your pen will always be special to me!

It was good to attend the same event - Boston Pelikan Hub! I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello. Now a subscriber!
It was a fun time for sure!

Very pretty bag. Is the M600 red FP heavier than the M200?

This was so INCREDIBLY useful in helping me plan out what to take to my first Pelikan Hub tomorrow - thank you so much!
I'm so glad it was helpful! I hope you have a wonderful time!
I guess I've been doing a commonplace journal the whole time without knowing it.
Going to my first hub in Calgary, Alberta. So excited!
So envious as I missed signing up in June, have not been to Pelikan hub since 2019 . Will have to go to my pen club to scratch that itch

This year was my 1st hub and I had to drive 2.5 hours to the nearest hub in Rochester, NY!
I hope you had fun!

Thank you Joe! The Commonplace journal has been so much fun. I find I'm always searching for information to add to it!

These are wonderful suggestions, thank you so much. I'll definitely bring a cloth and something to contribute to a giveaway!

Is the Jane Austen pen heavy weight?
It is definitely on the heavy side, but most of the weight is in the cap.
