  • So many fans asked me to do this video, to give them an insight in my personal and only Fender Stratocaster. Enjoy!
The songs you hear are "Pick it", "Blues in more than 12 bars", "Carlton" and "Plug in" from my CD: "Matze - Guitar Connection" with 20 songs from 2009 played on a 1963 Fender Stratocaster:

That was a Grand Tour if a beautiful lady I have heard you play many times. Funny as the tour was in progress I had questions that were soon answered. Some not. Pickup height? Why just the e string under the tree? Also an observation: There seems to be scraps and gouges in places I would never have suspected. Over all great post. 👍👍👀

Pickup height I have to measure.
Only the e-string because the intonation of the vibrato works better!

@@mattguitarwater Thank you so much for the quick response, I really appreciate it. I was so keen to know this, as there was contradictory information about the subject online. Some mentioned the same thinner size 0,2-0,3 mm, but some claimed that Leo Fender was using a much thicker material for these early sixties models: 14 guage aircraft grade aluminum...but that would be about 1,628 mm thick! Almost as thick as a pickguard...sounded quite unlikely to me. But unfortunately I was not able to check, as I do not have an original sixities strat lying around. :D So many thanks for confirming the detail. Keep up the good work!

@@mattguitarwater I own a pre cbs 1963 strat. All original except for the middle pickup. I follow (I’m a subscriber) you and love your videos. When I commented on your guitar I didn’t realize it was you lol. I meant no disrespect. In my experience (over 35 years of collecting/playing) I’ve seen some really good fakes. Regular people don’t know what they are looking at when it comes to pre cbs specs. I’m fully aware of when slab and veneer started. My point was that on some of the AVRI models made in the early 80s where the rosewood meets the headstock doesn’t match vintage specs. It’s usually a red flag. After watching other vids of yours your guitar looks to be correct and legit. For some reason in the vid I commented on it looks like an AVRi neck. My apologies. I am a huge fan.

      Hmmm......
      That are no slabboards!!!!
June 1962 onwards they only make curved boards. That a a slim veneer on the maple neck!
A slab board is a thick piece of rosewood glued slab on the maple.
With curved in my video I mean the curved ending of the rosewood in the area of the headstock because it's formed round by sanding in the early 60s.
