@@beat_avenger US? You can just buy a transformer, fixed 230 to 110, or a regulated one. The latter cost about 60 euro. I used it quite often for old computers, bc back then the voltage was 220. And the increase to what it is now, with spikes on the net, is enough to fry the psu.
I very much enjoyed this restoration. The final product looks beautiful. BE CAREFUL!! this likely will not work again. Paint on the ceramic won't take the heat, it will burn and at the very least smell bad if not ignite. Even though i admire the restauration work and the quality of the videos, this is a HUGE NONO for me. You should NEVER restore electrical devices in such a way; with mains connector attached, while the device is shorted. If you restore electrical devices, omit chord and or main connector AND actively and safely interrupt mains IN the device, so even if someone would add a connector and try it, it will not cause any accidents.
If he plugs that in the entire thing will go live and he'll have a lump of mains voltage metal sat in his workshop. There were some insulators missing from it which he didn't replace.
Would need to double the length of the coil or replace it with a heating element for a kiln rated about 500w,somethings going back to original still means it cannot be used
I have a suspicion if you plug that in you'll need a new workshop. The power cord seems to be in short circuit with the copper reflector. Or did I miss something, and that it's insulated?
Yes, it's short circuited, there should be insulator rings betveen the coppe bowl and electric contacs. And no, he doesn't need new workshop, it'll just blow a fuse.
@@Njazmo That's what I thought, I was truly hoping he'd test it though. But I guess it's just a dangerous novelty. Honestly, I gasp and screamed yes! when he pushed in the power cord connectors at the back. I know I am bad. Still, in any case... it's a boss restoration.

Disconnect one of the wires in the plug. Still would look wonderful but would have no chance of working if it was unknowingly plugged in. Better safe than sorry. This looks very lovely.
Good idea. Safety first! But I would disconnect both lines in the plug so that there is no voltage in the device. The heating coils are not properly covered and the housing is not earthed, which is very dangerous.
EDIT : I didn't have 110V adaptator to test it and the output of the radiator wasn't isolated from ground. I also didn't put plastic isolating washers back cause they were very damaged and it was unsightly with polish copper. It becomes a nice decorative object anyway 😉👍
☹️.... you restored it, but didn’t replace the electrical insulated washers - then put a lead/plug on it and stated it will be/rendering it a shelf queen, with the additional risk that someone who likes restored vintage things to be useable will plug it in and burn out the nichrome wire and be electrocuted - at least replace the nichrome wire with one rated for use with modern European power output, and replace the electrical insulation washers, so someone will have the pleasure to plug it in and use it 🙂
Sorry, but you should never restore like this. It is NOT safe. If the device is shorted, you should safely interrupt the power supply to it IN the device AND omit the chord and mains connector! Suppose this gets to someone that doesnt know. You had no opportunity to tell them. It just so happens that they shorted out the fuse, bc old house and out of fuses or malfunction and someone plugs it in. And if its a child, good chance it will panick and you will find your house burnt down when you come home. This is a NONO m8.
