    Very practical video. I've created a moodboard for the client and then after agreeing on the direction I've selected all the things/materials for the sample board to include. I've done it virtually on Photoshop, where I basically place the furniture accessories etc as they would be placed (in scale) for real life. Is that how you would present it if you don't have hand-drawn sketches? I'm thinking if I should place each thing floating in the air or placed it as if it would be placed,

    I’m not trying to get in your personal business but can you tell me about how much you make per month being a interior designer? Or how much can you expect to make? This is for my mom she’s very good at this and I’m about to fund the business for her to take a shot at her dream.

    Do you let your clients keep your boards or do you keep them for your portfolio?

    • @AnnaKovalchenko
      @AnnaKovalchenko  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Normally, I keep them - these board are intermediate stage of the project, just to show the concept and design process development. When the project is done, the client receives a presentation with photorealistic drawings for each room and technical drawings for the builders.

    can you tell me,how to make the moodboard?

      @AnnaKovalchenko  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have added a link on how to make a moodboard in the description of this video.

      Anna Kovalchenko I am a designer in China. I want to learn how to make mood board and apply it to design.

    • @AnnaKovalchenko
      @AnnaKovalchenko  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@yunathan239 I usually start by collecting inspirational photos on Pinterest - I usually create one for each project. Then I start to select the ones that I feel are the best and put them together on my moodboard. You can also do a physical one by cutting out images from magazines. Then think how you can transform the inspiration in the actual space - whether it is combination of colours, the shape or texture...

      Anna Kovalchenko yes,I usually do the same, but how can I combine the mood board with the renderings?

    Слушать просто невозможно эту ужасную безграмотную речь! Не говоря уже о том, что никакого дизайна тут и в помине нет!

    cool thx you really get the clients to sign the contract before showing anything? I love that tho,

    • @AnnaKovalchenko
      @AnnaKovalchenko  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, I usually do the first meeting free of charge, but just to see project and understand the scope of work. If we agree to proceed, we first sign the contract and then I do the first steps of the project: site measure, developing concept, etc.

      @@AnnaKovalchenko I am working on starting my own Interior Design business and I am wondering how you estimate project cost?

    • @AnnaKovalchenko
      @AnnaKovalchenko  3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@StrikinglySmart Hello! Usually to estimate the project cost I do an excel spread sheet with a list of materials, furniture, textiles, decor that I need to find for the project. Once 3d renderings approved by the client, it is very easy to source furniture and materials - we either use the same as models or search something similar. At this stage I send inquiries to my partners - carpentry, curtains makers, furniture factories, etc. I send them 3dRenderings and measurings and ask to do preliminary estimate (I inform the clients that this is just rough estimate and the definitive one will be only after we approve all materials). Once I obtain all the prices I insert them in my Excel spreadsheet, and by summing it up I obtain the rough estimate of the project cost. We then discuss it with my clients to see if any modifications need to be done. Hope it helps!
