Springtime in the Village

On May 18th, 2024, I returned to the West Barnstable Train Station & Museum in Barnstable, Massachusetts for their first opening day of the 2024 season and to mainly film the Cape Cod Central Railroad's first canal excursion train of the season which was being handled by ex-New Haven FL9's 2026 and 2011 respectively. There wasn't much stuff to film during my visit, mainly because the Cape Cod Model Railroad Club was closed and the museum's model train layout wasn't operating due to the locomotives on the layout being taken off, but I had somewhat of a good time, nonetheless. We sadly couldn't stay for long due to personal issues, and also because the weather was absolutely shitty the day we went, but despite this, I'll admit it was great getting to visit West Barnstable and see 2026 and 2011 again, especially knowing that 2026 is going to go down for a repaint later this year. In addition to seeing the FL9's of Cape Cod, I also got to see an MBTA Hi-Rail vehicle, which was inspecting the tracks for the upcoming MBTA CapeFlyer trains on Memorial Day weekend.
