I have an 86 225 and to get the plastic looking good you are gonna have to use some elbow grease but use hard steel wool then medium then fine grade then rub in some paint thinner on it very hard then wipe of the access don't let it dry then rub boiled linseed oil on it and let it dry for a day and you will be truly shocked it makes it look very close to new.
Have a yfm 200, do almost the same as you have done... they are fun to ride and undestructible and the don't drink to much gaz ... think i had to change the stator on mine too.
So many possible reasons... it was weird mine like locked up but I was able to get it to move after going forward and reverse... no idea why it happened.. could be something in the transmission, if it is really locked up you may have to start with checking things from wheels forward, are the brakes locked, is the differential locked, does the output shaft at the trans spin... ect... if it turns then something inside the case is messed up...
I just bought one of these 350cc version though it currently don't run and I've just started going over it and noticed there is oil in where the stator or magneto is should there be oil in there?
Hey I have a 1987 Yamaha moto 4 225 and it was running a couple of days ago, but just now I changed the aftermarket carb back to original and now it won’t start, any ideas?

Did the stator fix it?

@MineMax make sure the boot to the motor is sealed! You can use a hose clap to seal it off.
Did this fix your issue?
It did, but a few months or more later it failed still need to diagnose the new failure but suspexring the cheap stator failed
Ours is. 1984
