    Thanks for the wishes guys. Just a new update, today is day 7th for me, just had really bad diarrhea and whole body is aching right after. The night before I was constantly farting, it was so toxic, it kept me up till 6am. T_T (this sounds funny I know) Pity the wife Marianne who had to suffer along the ride of smell.

      TheGRIMFILM my aunt diagnosed stage 4 cancer and experienced all the bad symptoms as well, diarrhoea, vomit and toxic farts. One thing I could recommend is During chemo u need to have strong immune system, and she took a product line from Shaklee. Apparently Shaklee Vivix has quite good range of products and highly proven in providing enough nutrients for cancer patients. the shop just opposite sunway medical centre - sunway geos. My aunt's oncologist is Dr John Low as well.

    My aunt has Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (4th stage). She actually drank 2 fresh coconut water after chemo. Coconut water helps her in reducing nausea. May be you can try to drink coconut water after chemo. Hope this remedy helps you.

      Hi Jared, my mom went through chemo last year as well. On the contrary, the oncologist and chemo center nurses warned not to drink coconut water during chemo season. The reason behind being coconut water flushes the chemo medication out of the body, wasting the chemo. The recommendation is to drink fluids that are cooling, e.g. Luo Han Guo, barli. We decided to follow their advise.
      You will be hearing a lot of people saying not to eat this, not to eat that, must eat this, must eat that and it will be very daunting at times. When in doubt, always consult your oncologist :)
      Be Positive!

      Vivian Tan... Try look up the medical term "hyponatremia". This is something I learn in TH-cam awhile back but went to verified with real doctor friend too, because I was curious how true since we can't believe everything in TH-cam. I'm not sure if you are a doctor by profession; and what you did to your sister, I'm not interested to judge anybody nor in the position to do so either. It's not advisable to suggest what you had suggested. Different body may react differently. Just my 2 cents.
      Medical Video: th-cam.com/video/J3HivpHP-5I/w-d-xo.html (Drink too much water)
      Disclaimer: This is NOT meant to insult/taunt/look down nor act as if MrKnowItAll. Just sharing knowledge to all audience who wishes to learn something extra. Good day!

    • @doggiecute3
      @doggiecute3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, coconut water not advisable. It will flush out the chemo. Clear fluid or barley.

    • @eunicelim3405
      @eunicelim3405 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the idea is not to have coconut water DURING chemo as coconut water is similar to IV fluids (Hartman's or Ringer's Lactate) - it can dilute the blood volume, making it harder for your body to absorb the chemo. I don't think there's any research on the effect of coconut water during chemo but because it contains electrolytes, it wouldn't be likely to cause hyponatremia and would help your body and cells to function. Its a bit like taking hydralyte or gatorade/powerade to replenish fluids lost if you had diarrhoea, so it may be really useful for you to take some if you're having diarrhoea or sweating often.
      Coconut water is also a cooling fluid and unlike barley is not a diuretic, although barley may still be helpful despite being a diuretic. It is probably not best to drink 11 litres of water in 2 hours for anyone and let alone a patient with SIADH. I'm sure you'll get lots of advice and hope its not too confusing. I've had a few relatives undergone chemo who feel coconut water may have helped them from losing hair and that's their experience. Am definitely wishing you all the best of luck for your treatment and want to thank you for sharing your experience. Keep strong! You've got a lot of support :)

    Thanks so much for ur intention to raise the health awareness to the community. Your documentary not only gives us the knowledge and info about the disease hope you know tht you are also spreading a positive vibes to the community. YOU ROCKS!! I'm also felt happy that our country is getting a chance to reborn (hopefully) from the not-so-glorious days. Aside than decision from the authorities, I do think that we as Malaysian should also take our responsibility to build our nation better by becoming a good citizen, no littering, keep our country clean, read more books and never stop learning, being an ethical and productive employee and more cohesive towards the diversity! Maybe it's just my wish :)
    I genuinely hope you will recover from what you're going through right now and return to ur career soon! Looking forward for more of ur vid maybe "10 ways to be a good citizen" :) much loves

    I had 6 sessions of intense chemo once every 3 weeks. I found that the day of and the day after I felt ok cause they gave you steroids. But from the 2-3rd day onwards I started feeling like a truck hit me. The 2nd week onwards I started feeling better and by the 3rd week I was normal again but by that time it was time for my next chemo. Most food tastes bland to me but certain things like papaya and watermelon was particularly flavorful. Drink lots of water to flush all the toxic out and rest lots. Give your body time to heal. HEY JARED. Deep deep deep deep down in my heart, i wish your recovery to hasten and get it over and done with. You are so strong on set in the video but we all know you are actually questioning like "why is this happening to me why must it be me etc" , i asked the same question when i had my own surgery (dont want to disclose it) and i hated EVERY minute of it. Girlfriend left me, families worried but at least i got to know who are my real friends and families that came down everyday from work just to see me lying on the bed , lifelessly. Your girlfriend is VERY supportive and she is as strong as you right now. Going through all these with you is not easy, she could've left SO easily but yet she chose to fight beside you. Please hang on and my prayers are always with you.

    I've been going through chemotherapy too. 3 sessions of 4 completed. They should be giving you anti sickness pills, and something for both diarrhoea and constipation. My Consultant told me that the 10th day after chemotherapy is the lowest point in the cycle for the body and after that you should start recovering, unfortunately just in time for the next treatment. Your doctor should also be able to tailor the next treatment to you if it was too strong. I know it's hard but it does work. My best wishes to you and your wife.

    Hi friend, I've been through 2 cycles of ABVD (had to get 8 doses) and 15 sessions of radiotherapy and I totally understand how you feel. The nausea, hiccups and the constant hunger (I gained so much weight) and the sense of taste is not really there.
    I managed to get anti-nausea medication and hiccup medications, it helped a lot but the first two days after chemo were bad, non-stop hiccups and such.
    Spicy food really helps, I had lots of juices and green tea as well.
    I do hope you feel better soon, you can do this! Hang in there.

    I'm a cancer patient too and I've just completed my radiotherapy and chemotherapy this year January. Just to share the information from my doctor, chemo patient is not supposed to drink coconut water. Coconut water will flush the toxin including your chemo medicine out from your body which is not supposed to as the chemo medicine is supposed to be kept in your body to kill all the cancer cell. You may double check with your oncologist on that:)
