    Had spacers on my F250. They lasted about 9 months. Then on a long ride home, the front passenger spacer caused 7 out of 8 lugs to break. They almost killed me. I was doing 70 mph when they all broke at once.
    And yes I torqued them to specs, twice and used blue lock tight.
    Sure looks great! But if you want a wider stance, ditch the spacers and invest in wider wheels.

However guys will have you believe your shit will break within a few miles. At 62,000 miles I see no issues developing that would cause me concern. I have no reason at this time to believe any wear is occurring whatsoever. I do not off-road. I have however gone over a few wagon trails.

I run 22x14s in the summer months and as soon as the salt flies i sqap to the factory 20s on my 17 f250. Inlearned on my previous 15 that when the salt and road debris gets thrown up the sides of the truck it totals the paint and gets stuck in the window mould and scratches the windows when youbroll them down. Wheels pokin out and winter are a terrible combo

    Wheel spacers can cause accelerated wear on suspension and hub components because of the added stress that they place on parts that were designed to certain tolerances by the manufacturer. Because the wheels are further from the hub, more stress is placed on the wheel bearing, hubs and/or axles, potentially causing these parts to fail prematurely.
    Heavier Steering
    Depending on the size of the wheel spacers, the steering will potentially become heavier. The wider track means that more effort is needed to turn the wheels, which can make it more difficult to turn the steering wheel. Again, this is dependent on the width of the spacer. A small, ¼-inch width spacer will not have as much effect as a 1- or 2-inch spacer.

    It looks great, but the front hub assembly bearings and ball joints won't last long with those spacers on there. Maybe 10k miles before needing to be replaced. I know from experience. But it looks great while they last.. And I would have torqued them down at 120lbs. Maybe drive on them for about a week, and then re-torque them. They're aluminum so just like new aluminum wheels, they should be re-torqued after driving on them. I always do it at around 1000 miles.

      Amateurs but atleast hes trying. What's the recommended torque for the stud, not your suggestion of torque. Aluminum changes shape between hot and cold. So can hurt parts when hot and fall off when cold. I know I write terrible but don't overtorque and check them a couple times. Happy winter.

      @calvinh.8882 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@4406bbldb , I believe the owners manual for the new RAM 4x4's says the torque specs are 130flbs. and I would torque them when the temps are well above freezing and he wont have any issues. Most aluminum wheels have steel inserts that the lugnuts tighten down on, but those spacers do not. And I have dealt with a lot of aluminum spacers and I have always torqued them to 120flbs. and I've never had any issues.
      If it was below freezing and he torqued them to 120flbs. and it warms up, the aluminum may expand a little, but forged aluminum that is over 1/2 thick isn't going to fluctuate much at all.

    1inch keeps it tucked (can lower 1inch to save 5%gas) or raise it to kill 40% oddly, 2inch makes its right with rolled fenders, 3inch makes it a bulldog but needs 2" flare. Not sure with spacers but I'm assuming air foil is different from catching tires for MPG.

      There isn't anything inherently unsafe about spacers unless you get ones that are garbage quality. Hub centric is a great plus to wheels spacers. Also using wheels spacers to move the wheel out has the same effect as the aftermarket wheels he put on it. Sure both will cause more wear than stock and so do bigger tires. It doesn't mean you can't go a really long time without replacing front end components. Yes you'll kick more up on the body and this is why I personally don't like "Stance".

    Since I discovered stance on trucks there's no way I could be without it, it's like diet coke compared to real coke! No stance = boring..

    I just put 2” spacers on my 2019 ram classic. Love the look, and it’s just enough poke. Do you rub on the inner wheel well when turning full lock? I noticed on my truck when I’m at full lock I rub on the back side of the wheel well.

    • @Boone9269
      @Boone9269 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you have a 2019 ram they used the common 6x 5.5, which the spacers in the link are 6.5.5 so they will fit.
