I was just listening to Marie Laveau by Bobby Bare a couple of days ago. It got my curiosity up as to whether she was a real person or just a made up name for the song. I Goggled her, and she was real. Interesting info on her in Wikipedia.😃

It was so much fun going to work every day cause you never knew who would come in. the names i could give you of people i was lucky enough to get to know. Jack Blanchard & Misty Morgan's follow-up to "Tennessee Birdwalk" was "Humphrey the Camel". It was a hit on the Country chart but didn't cross over to the Pop chart like "Birdwalk" did. I don't think they ever had another hit. Love Brad Paisley's sense of humor, plus he picks like a demon. My favorite Paisley tune fits your list even though it wasn't a hit: "The Pants".

You might have noticed the tiny photo of mine on the side with the cowboy outfit and the pattern of my native Igorot jacket. Here in the mountainous region of the Cordillera, Philippines, we the native Igorots (one of the major indigenous group of our country) was influenced heavily by country music when American colonized our country. We love Country Music and we even have our own version "The Igorot Country Music" where artists sing and perform Country Music in our own dialect. Good luck on your channel and more power.

Thank you so much for sharing this! I will be in Japan next week and they were influenced in a similar way, in their case due to the end of Word War 2 and the American troops coming in and bringing country music with them. Thanks so much for watching and god bless everyone in your fine country!

I never thought of Red necks White socks and Blue Ribbon Beer as a joke or novelty song. It's more of a red neck anthem.

An interesting story about Charlie Pride was after he moved to what was then a very white North Dallas, he was mowing the yard, and a lady drove up and complimented him on the job he was doing and asked what he charged for his services. He replied that he did not really have a set price but that the lady at this house would sleep with him. The lady rolled up her window and drove away.

Can we get some international flair to these lists? Here are some crazy songs from Canadian country legend Stompin' Tom Connors; Bud the Spud, The Bug Song, The Ketchup Song and Rubberhead. Also, how about I Like Beer by Tom T. Hall?

You make a great point. Since episode 2, most of these songs I have mentioned are based on comments. I think it would be great to have folks that may not have heard crazy songs from other countries to be exposed to them. I am writing the script for Crazy Songs 7 now so one of these artists will be featured!
