Good tip is to use charge when you are close to someone to save up stam.
Also good combo is to charge someone , then bite them and when backing off tail smack them.
Wait for charge cooldown and repeat the combo untill you kill your oponent.
The whole combo does 196dmg if you have lone hunter.He has decent dmg but is very squishy in my opinion.
He HAS to be squishy because he is good everywhere else.
I agree but taking almost half hp dmg from rex to body with 1 bite is just too much. Also before you are able to buck off raptor off you as Pycno your HP is almost completely gone.@@jamesholcombe675
Honestly, how about instead of giving nearly every semi-apex/apex creature strong legs, why not have the knockback determine on the combat weight of their target? Basically, the greater the combat weight, the less distance they will get knocked back.
Pycno is a skill mans dino. If you know how to play him well and you know your matchups and terrain well, you will be a terror to most dinos.
That hp nerf does seem pretty odd but you do got the walking speed to get around, super funny when a kill hungry ano sprints after you and you just casually walk away from him.
Pycno was my first dinosaur I got to adult when I first got the game. I learned how to master all the crappy dinosaurs cause I thought they were cool like the Alio
Pycno is a cliff hunter. Bait dinos near cliffs or catch them to close to one and knock them off. Small dinos take alot from reflective damage and big ones take alot from fall damage. Utilize cliffs like a sarco uses water
Pycno is a glass cannon and the health nerf was supposed to enforce that play style. Glass cannons have devastating offensive abilities but crumple under assault. You’re supposed to attack and not be hit back. Preserve stam by charging at close range. Use your gripping claws to turn quickly to face smaller faster dinos at a walk. These things absolutely melt alios and dasps 1v1 and 2 pycs can kill anything. They’re badass when you learn how to use that attack and retreat play style. I only use the knock back when fighting on a hill to get them to take fall damage.
if they nerfed his hp they should at least gave him more speed,he feels too slow and now he is too ez to kill
The armored tail makes up for it. Makes it feel like you have more health than it use to have

A Good Pycno could kill alot when Solo

Plus Pycno now got Armored Tail which is VERY good, specially on Pycno where you are supposed not get hit from the front

The way I've come to play pycno now is using horn swipe and headbutt as a defensive distancing tool to keep other dinos from getting too close and then using the charge for hit and runs. If chased then using tail attacks. Could also go for a charge to start an attack then use either headbutt or swipe to knock a dino aside to prepare for your get away. Since pycno has always been pretty squishy and even more now with the health nerf, keeping a dinosaur away from you so that you don't take too many hits from them is the better way to deal with most threats. Even if they have strong legs, not every player uses it and you still are able to move them.

In my experience, a group of 3-4 pycs that have good cooldown management and know how to play pyc are actually scary. It’s hard to punish a good charge from them and can be difficult to fight
I mean i just love being able to hawk down dinos with him. And playing close to a hill is your best friend. With that knockback you can really kill off anything launching them off a hill.

I would say the horn swipe should do bleed damage since swiping your horns against flesh tends to leave big bleeding gashes, but since 1 of the picnics doesn’t have horns I understand
Think you could do a list of good solo Dino’s for beginners and experienced players? Also I like the pycno so far for its speed and turning radius but I need to learn how to fight with it, it does feel alittle flimsy compared to a Rex.
Really don't get the devs reason for their nerfs, Pycno was already a glass canon and punished you for not using the hit and run playstyle, now your just free food for most things, it was fine as it was before the update but once again devs ruined it
Pycno is my favorite Dino to play, u just gotta know how to bait out attacks, avoid damage, and manage your stamina
In some servers, knock back is incredibly useless if fall damage is off.
Can we add some Dino bots for single player? , you know to test the damage from our Dino. Or is there something else we can do
In my opinion pycno is worth growing its very weak as in health and it can be tricky to get kills with but it you are trying to find something to hunt I'd go for anything smaller or weaker than a metri or just anything asleep because if you can hit something while it's sleeping with the charge you can't lose nice video simply :D
On what servers do u play for the pvp
If you could redo Ano? As they have nerfed him badly, he can now be knocked out of hunker by any charge abilities making him unplayable now, 2nd slowest dino, hunkered is disabled by any knock back ability. Or grabbed. Stam nerf, literally a walking lunchbox now. Only dino I play due to the toxic groups, sadly I don’t think il continue playing it now.
I like the pycno but the nerfs are so bad I agree totally with you at the end, just another playable with crappy stats no point growing at the moment. I'd increase the combat weight, damage, and sprint speed to make him more scary to fight imo

Damn that’s a shame I was going to grow one but after seeing this video not anymore I already have a few Dino’s that take skill to use I don’t need another one I don’t like Dino’s that take skill to much work rather be able to face tank them lol
The pycno needs better turning or buff the fvcking combat weight because biting a cera kills pycno faster than the regular bite the cera does, and the cera mixed with some chickens is insane,

For the experienced players on *un-modded servers* the Pycno can be decent.
That said I feel like most players are on servers with mods, and there it just gets out competed by sooo many dinos. Maybe it's just my lack of experience, but I personally feel like it's not worth it in most scenarios.
pycno was actually the largest abelisaurid ever! was 4 tons even larger than 3-3.5 ton allosaurus.

It’s sad they nerfed so much of its health.
It’s his stam and speed he is a glass canon. A couple go tips is don’t take any hits you don’t have to take and if you can never get bonebroke cause if you get bonebroke your dead and the bite/headbutt never use unless it’s to finish off or tail ride a Dino with no tail attack and spam his charge close range since it doesn’t gain dmg the further you charge so to min max charge close range to save stam and make sure to run away right after using your stam and speed to keep your distance from your target till charge is back up then go back in for one then run away just make sure to avoid any hits if possible since like I said before there glass canons so they die fast but there charge is one of the most damaging carni abilities in the game

The devs don't know how to balance a game there's no way this should have less hp than a struthy.
