No kidding. ESP wanted an excuse to cancel jeff. He's got one of the best signature guitars out there (especially kahler tremolo). Now ESP stopped/canceled Jeff's signature guitars 👎
This guy rewrote the book on what metal should be and his band mates stayed true to it and themselves, until the very end. That’s really rare and not something a lot of bands claiming themselves to be of the metal genre can say. Looking at you, Metallica, Slipknot, etc. Don’t get me wrong, I still enjoy some of the modern stuff by various “metal” groups, like Metallica and Slipknot for example, but their older stuff tends to get the most play. Slayer, on the other hand, I can start an album, any album, new or old, and let the whole thing play. R.I.P., Jeff, and thanks for having the courage to share your beautiful talent with (me) the rest of the world ❤
@@stephanea5364 Listen to The Antichrist, Seasons in the Abyss or Hallowed Point. Jeff can legitimately play a great solo but he and Slayer decided not to because of the type of music they were writing and they wanted to be different. Slayer solos are not melodic or pretty but it actually suits the song and it's subject matter.
It’s awesome to see Jeff talk about B52’s as I like them too oddly as a metal head lol They remind me of my kids. It’s great to see him laugh as he seems normally like a very quiet and reserved kinda guy.
High spirited, easy laughter, has made a difference to millions of fans. I am included. I saw you live playing my favorite Slayer tune in 2006! Forever well remembered. God speed.
What a fking legend this man was already while living. The hard core punk side of slayer, this man made the best selection of harcore covers in Undisputted Attitude, Jeff showed me what really punk was in the 90's while Green Day and Offspring were huge. Now 40 years old I have all those records from Minor Threat, T.S.O.L, D.I, D.R.I, Verbal abuse as pearls in my collection. Thanks Jeff
His signature guitar is my all time favourite guitar. This guitar plays and feels like a dream man. I love it so much I want a 2nd one but they don’t make them anymore. My #1guitar!
Jeff listening to the B-52s doesn't surprise me. Hell, Tom at one point said he doesn't even listen to metal much and mostly likes Peter Gabriel and Bjork.
Это удивительный человек! Всегда им восхищался! Если гитарная компания премиум класса выпустила серию гитар с именем Jeff Hanneman это говорит об многом! Покойся с миром!
We miss the great person he was, and his guitar playing, the angriest right hand of the business. I think about him every time I play my Esp Jeff Hanneman. Rip Jeff, we miss you.
Why doesn’t the Jeff Hanneman line up no longer show on the ESP website? Has it been discontinued? Really disappointing if so. I own a JH600 and was planning to purchase the ESP model when an all black non camo model ever came out. Please bring it back.
Jeff Hanneman... LEGEND. My fave guitar demon since 1984. I love punk... I love thrash... I love a ton of shit. SLAYER uber alles!! Cheers to the end of time from Mobile Deathcamp!!
RIP Jeff. An amazing metal guitarist, and a big influence on me. Was luck enough to see with with Slayer, along with Megadeth, and Anthrax before he passed. Thank you for all the music Jeff! You are a riff master.
Saw Jeff at US Bank in '06. It was The Unholy Alliance Tour and I was 4 rows from the pit coz the stage was right smack in the middle.Best view in the place.
Jeff was my biggest hero in music. Still is. Fun to hear, fun to watch, impossible to ignore. Humble, playful, prankster. Never a rockstar, never a diva. Interesting and easy to like. A genius in studio. Dozens of the craziest ideas popped out of his mind, most of those fit in Slayer's concept and it was so natural. On the other side, Kerry was more of a thinker. IMO Kerry was a Swiss-Army knife on techniques, while Jeff was pure inspiration and emotion. Kerry was pure brain and swagger; Jeff was brain too, but was also heart and soul. It sucks at some point in his career Jeff looked like he just lost patience in his leads on-stage. It was annoying to me when he screwed up his own solos with happy hands or happy fingers - as high speed does not equal great solos. He was losing his ability to play live. Band members mentioned it before and I agree. Sometimes the sound of his equipment was kinda stuffy to me, too. Equipment-wise, I do prefer Kerry's sharper metallic sound. I'd wish Jeff's guitars always had the tune of his leads on the track "Overt enemy". That song holds 2 great solos of Jeff with extremely sharp sounds. But none of this lows (and they're just my opinion, and I'm OK if you disagree) can really harm Jeff's value in studio. He was a generational player with undisputed musical perception and sensibility. When it counted (on recordings), he was fast when needed, patient when needed, always had great control of the tempo and knew how to mix different elements at the right time. Of course it's easier having partners like Kerry, Tom, Dave and the producers, but I think he was definitely a different animal on studio. Forever missed, never forgotten.
the dude will always be remembered as one of the most influential (if not the most influential) extreme metal riff lord of all time . RIP Jeff
The Toni Iommi of extreme metal 666% sure my friend 🔥

He will be remembered for wearing sunglasses when there is absolutely no reason to do that and for his sloppy boring repetitive solo’s.

He’s the reason for Slayer’s Success, and Kerry King is responsible for the vast majority of the Solos.

Three words pal. Diabolous in musica.
Old B52s is definately cool music.
B52 are dope. Same goes for old Devo and that kind of stuff.

There's something in his voice that's very much like James Hetfield. Quiet, shy, but put a guitar in their hands and they're riff monsters.
