Remade, more or less, during WW2 as Lights Out with the wonderfully eldritch Mrs Jones. Lights Out is a far, far better cartoon, but this one is really good too, and Mrs Jones is a great, great supporting character. I wonder if she refers to someone from the day. That was pretty funny all those monsters and ghosts afraid of a little mouse.
"Dracula" and "Frankenstein" briefly appeared again in the 1946 Mighty Mouse cartoon, "The Jail Break" {BAD BILL BUNION: "A good lawyer'll get me out of this!"/DRACULA and FRANKENSTEIN: "Don't get the one WE had!"}.
This Terrytoon was shown before screenings of the Shirley Temple film "The Little Princess", of course.
0:53 she is creepier than all the monsters in this!
LOL at the way Gandy says "Gee I haven't got a pipe!"
Zak Wolf Arthur Kay was the Original Gandy
