I recently discovered your channel when researching Clip Paint Studio vs Photoshop (great video, btw), and I have to say that I absolutely love your art and channel.
Some local comic artists and I tried a 24 hour comic event a few years ago and that was a trip. The goal of the challenge we were doing was to do a complete 24 page comic- write it, pencil it, ink it, and letter it in 24 hours. The only rule was you couldn't come to the table with the story written. You could have a general idea or some of them flipped through a dictionary and randomly picked a word as the "theme". We were sponsored by a local comic shop to do it, so they provided snacks and dinner and we were locked in after hours. At about the half-way mark, a couple of the artists decided to go a Sharpie-only route, by passing the penciling stage. The smell from all the markers was insane. Combining that with the lack of sleep and I'm pretty sure most of us had to call for a ride in the morning.

Bahahaaha sounds like that was an EPIC day. I love that some of them said f*ck it and went straight to the sharpies LOL. That was a wild read, thank you for sharing. I would love to give that a try with a group of people, that's so cool. Did you get to finish your own comic? What did you get done that night?!

@@JGVIllustrations It was honestly a trip to do it with a group of people. A group setting helps not only keep you motivated by seeing your peers working so diligently but also provide a fantastic mental break or soundboard during the grueling hours. I'm part of a new art group now and our meetings have been postponed due to the current stay at home orders, but I've been trying to talk them into maybe trying a 24 hour thing and we all stay connected via discord or what have you.
I did manage to finish my comic. It was a really, really bad story, but it was more about the journey than the destination. I know a couple of the comic artists that still do it every year and the print their books to sale.

It is! My husband likes to collect antique portraits. Abraham Lincoln’s is in the center (can’t really tell, he’s cut off in the shot). Also, what historical figure wasn’t chill? Lmao

@@JGVIllustrations I was saying he was not chill!!!! I heard he was a bad guy... and so was abraham lincoln... but the history books in school dont talk about the bad stuff about them for some reason

what ever that’s what I meant as well. I majored in History in college, most historical figures don’t have a “clean” record and could be considered a bad guy to today’s standards. Nobody is perfect.
