I know their purpose is to be side characters to give the movie a light mood every now and then to show that Peter is still Peter and he's still living a normal life outside of Spider-man but it really would make more sense if she ended up with Peter rather than Mary Jane being with Peter after all the shit that they went through I mean, she has everything. She has the look that wouldn't stand out as a model but is cuter than Mary Jane in many ways, she has a brighter and awkard personality that feels more natural than what Mary Jane feels, she isn't salty that the guy she likes is with another girl, she just likes being around him and support him, and most of all, she's in love with Peter, not Spiderman

Ursula is a surprisingly important character for Peter's development in these movies. His life steadily falls apart during the second movie, and he can't catch a break in even the smallest interactions, but when Ursula offers to share cake with him, it's this nice breath of fresh air for the movie and is the start of him turning things around. A small act of kindness with nothing expected in return seemed to be a key ingredient in helping Peter regain his resolve to be a hero, and I appreciate Ursula for that. It was also nice to see her dad warm up to him a little after getting chewed out. Him understanding that someone like Peter would never act out like he did because he must be going through something is a nice touch.
Tbh Jonah too was a very nice guy. When goblin attacked his office to find the guy who was getting the Spiderman pictures (Tobey himself) he never just gave him up even though he was right there but he said that all his stuff came through post, trying to protect him

I’m still kind of mad he didn’t give her a shot, she treated him so well, while MJ knew his secret and still couldn’t appreciate him, Ursula appreciated Peter even though she thinks he’s just a normal guy, straight up. She was clearly in love with Peter, but when she realizes MJ and him are having problems, she is still in his corner for him, excited him and MJ might work it out.

I still feel like she should've been the one who Peter ultimately ended up with. She basically stuck by the dude the whole time and was always ready and willing to support him at his lowest moments while MJ was just constantly getting angry with him.

She’s such a good character despite having sparse appearance. Her scene that I like the most is when she excitedly told Peter that Mary Jane is on the phone. While she seems to have a crush on Peter, she still respects the fact that Peter likes someone else and she’s genuinely happy for him. Idk, that small part makes her such a likeable character for me

I’m still kind of mad he didn’t give her a shot, she treated him so well, while MJ knew his secret and still couldn’t appreciate him, Ursula appreciated Peter even though she thinks he’s just a normal guy, straight up.
She was clearly in love with Peter, but when she realizes MJ and him are having problems, she is still in his corner for him, excited him and MJ might work it out.
Peter does have lots of issues and problems to deal with but having a girl like that as a neighbour just makes everything better. Wish I had a neighbour like this.
I love this actress' portrayal of her character. Her character was so genuine, sincere, and endearing. She was so enjoyable to watch. My favorite character in the movie.

Why are these side characters from this trilogy so iconic and effective
"Ditkovich" is a very clever homage to steve ditko, the creator of spiderman.
It's so bizarre, they even show us in the movie that Ursula is right for Peter while MJ isn't. Ursula steamrolled the damn door all the while selflessly helping Peter and Mary Jane's relationship. What a shame, Mary Jane should have been left behind because Ursula was the future for Pete.

I have to admit, I completely overlooked Ursula back when I first watched the movie. She's not the type one swoons over when seeing her for the first time. She's the kind of girl you realize it's actually kind of cute YEARS after you met her and then you realize it's too late and she married another guy who wasn't as stupid as you.
The way she smiles so gleefully as Peter helps himself to her cookies just melts my heart.
