I have Neewer and they worked fine with firmware 1.11. Now with firmware 3.01 after 30-40 seconds after switching on a warning pops up, and the display of the charge level in percent disappears. And the camera can turn off without saving the recording at any time, even when the battery icon shows 2 stripes
I honestly think I'm going to switch to Nikon, this is one of the most disappointing a firmware I never saw, how a company can deliver something so garbage like that and seeing people will be happy????
Technically, they owe you nothing.You have bought a camera with a working firmware, why would you expect new functions implemented for free? Please switch to Nikon, they will certainly deliver what you are looking for 😏

The camera has the same feature set as when you bought it. Firmware is mainly for minor improvements and bug fixes. You're not gonna get AI autofocus, etc like other newer models 🤷♂

This usually happens if you bought an illegal refurbished one with a bloody hacked region and crookedly installed languages. Such a camera should not be updated under any circumstances.
Touch focus is OK but focus bracketing is much quicker and involves less interaction with the camera so less chance of moving the camera if say its in a precarious position. Other cameras in this price range have it so I think sony should in my opinion.

Sony firmware ver.3.0. Unnecessary update, no point uploading. It doesn't solve anything important, just a stupid app. Focusing is still bad. Sony is starting to piss me off a lot. Sony doesn't care about customers, they don't do anything important to their products. Only for the most expensive products.

Do you have issues with touch focus? Does it lock when you touch different areas on your screen?

Same. Definitely not worth me updating as I use the camera as a stills camera not a webcam. If I wanted a webcam I would of bought one.

Focusing still bad? The camera delivers a very solid performance. If your A7iv doesn't focus properly, it's not the camera's fault.
This firmware broke RAW support in Lightroom so stay away from it!
